Sam Parr started a hot dog stand called Southern Sam's Wieners as Big as a Baby's Arm outside a vintage store in Tennessee run by American Pickers host Mike. He saw a thousand people lined up and decided to sell hot dogs to them, making about a thousand dollars on a good day.
As a kid, were you entrepreneurial? Grew up in Missouri, and then I went to college in Tennessee. And when I was in Tennessee, I owned a chain of hot dog stands called Southern Sam's Wieners as Big as a Baby's Arm. Have you seen a TV show called American Pickers? Yes. So Mike, the main guy, the skinny guy, I met him on the street. He was opening up a store where they sell like all the old shit. I worked there and it was great, but there was always a line of like 1,000 people. And I was like, I'm going to go open up a hot dog stand and sell hot dogs to these people. And how did that go? You would make a grand a day on a good day.
