Wealthy people claim they're entirely self-made, but the speaker says that's false. Luck and an inborn entrepreneurial instinct, which can't be taught, give certain people an unfair advantage that has nothing to do with hard work.

Rich people never want to be told that they were lucky. They want to tell us all, I worked my ass off, I deserve every single penny I got. And they are 100% wrong about that. Part of my thesis is the paper boy, the paper girl, these people that were born with that genetic seed of entrepreneurism, it can't be taught. It's just in you. And it's such an advantage in life because it's really nothing we did. We were born with it.
