Table salt is heavily refined with synthetic chemicals and aluminium anti-caking agents. Iodized salt contains industrially added iodine you can get from leafy greens instead. Rock salt, or sendha namak, is unrefined and natural, making it the healthiest choice, though you should still keep salt intake low.

What do you think is the best salt out of these? First up is table salt. While it may seem that it's simply made by evaporating seawater, it actually goes through a long refining process. It even has aluminium-based anti-caking agents added to it to make it free-flowing like this. Plus, it is bleached and whitened using synthetic chemicals. So this is actually not the best choice for your body. Then there is iodized salt, which companies heavily market. Now this has synthetic iodine added to it industrially. While iodine has an important function to play in our body, we actually can get natural iodine through green leafy vegetables and lentils. So this too is a naaah. The third variety is rock salt, which we also call sendha namak. Now this one is unrefined and 100% natural. This one comes in both white and pink varieties, and you can choose either of them. Both of them are good options. So this is actually the best choice for your health. But also remember, no matter what salt you use, keep your salt intake to a minimum.
