Two speakers lead a mealtime prayer thanking farmers, transporters, shopkeepers, soil insects, the cook, and God. Each line names someone in the chain from soil to plate, turning gratitude into a map of how food reaches us.
Before we start our meals, there's one ritual we always practice.
And that is to offer a prayer of gratitude.
To the farmers who lovingly grew these crops in the sunny fields.
To the transporters and shopkeepers who made sure the fresh produce reaches our home.
To the tiny little insects in the soil who nourished the soil and the food.
To the person at home who cooked this meal so deliciously and lovingly.
And to God who created the food and blessed us with the digestive fire to digest it.
Do you have a prayer that you say before you eat your meals? If yes, please tell us. We would love to know.
