Welcome back to the Healthy Prophets podcast. It's Sammy Shoebox Moses. Excited to come to you guys today with one of the biggest problems I see with health and wellness podcasts and what you need to know about doing this so that you do not ruin your show and ruin your credibility on your show. This show is crucial and we've seen this happen so many times over and over again with health and wellness podcasts in particular, when they go after getting big guests. And this is what you need to know before you go and try and book a big guest. As somebody that has produced over 30 plus podcasts in the health and wellness space right now, I see this happen time and time again. Especially happens with people that are a little bit newer to the game, but also happens a lot of times with people that have a very established show. And this is going after the big guest. And I thought this was a great podcast to go with because I see this happen early on in the podcast journey with people. And why we want to address this is because the biggest thing you want to do in your show as the health and wellness expert in your field is be the health and wellness expert in your field. And what happens when you go after the big guest and you bring them onto your show, I've seen this happen time and time again, is that that guest, if they don't look at you as the subject matter expert in your field, they'll start talking about their field and taking the eye off of you as the expert. And the biggest thing you want to do in your show is establish yourself as the expert in your field so that people will buy your supplements, go to your retreats, book you for their stages, buy your book, use your courses. It happens time and time again. And people bring on a big guest and all of a sudden that guest who may love you, but if it's a new show, they don't know you, they're not really as positioned to talk about you. So they'll talk about what they know, which can take off that shine on who you are as the expert in your field. And so we want to make sure that you guys go in to the approach of getting those guests with you that will lift you up. And it doesn't mean that you take away from what they're talking about, but you need to strategically speak to their expertise so that it lends into your ecosystem, into your zone of genius. And I just see this happen so many times. And so as one of the first shows in our series, I just want to make sure that you guys Are taking the intentional time to position yourself as the expert in your field and to strategize and to strategically make your shows so that they are put together in the way and the order that makes you the expert in your field. I love this topic because once you get this in your head as the mindset that you want to have as the go to expert, then you will see it fall just like domino's on how much easier it is to book the right guest, to have the right people in your shows in the right order so that you are still the expert. And even when you do bring on a big guest, you're still the guide in your field of expertise, leading them to somebody that can help support your message and your show. So what can you do to really amplify that? And just make sure that you're continuously bringing people that really lift you up and you can support them as well. One thing that you can do is make sure when you start booking your guests, if you're 10 shows in or 20 shows in, make sure that you continue to book guests that are not huge until your chops are super sharp and you're very succinct and very good with your interviewing and feeling good about how well and comfortable you are on the microphone. This will be the tried and true test to see how well you are when it comes to interviewing some of those bigger people. But it's a lot easier when you're talking to people that you know, you love, you like, and you trust. The conversations are gonna be hella smoother. They're gonna be so much more candid. It's gonna be like you're talking to your friends and it's not gonna be robotic. You're not gonna get nervous, intense, and search for things, especially if it's a bigger guest. I've seen this happen a lot when people inadvertently get like an a lister on their show. And normally they're not fluid if they don't have the practice. And the best way to practice is to get some people on your show that are good friends, that are in your sphere, they know you and that you guys have a great rapport so that the conversation is just nice and smooth and fluid. And you have the ability to really bring that conversation back into your zone of genius, back into your ex. So I would suggest before you try and book one of those really big guests that you center in on finding out exactly what it is that you're the most comfortable and the biggest expert on in your field. And again, the reason you want to do that is because positioning is everything in health and wellness. You are the go to expert in your field. And even if you bring in somebody that is similar to your field or even mirror your field, make sure that you bring it back to your product, to your service and how great it is that you guys if it was the same, right? So you had somebody in the same hormone space or the same menopause space, bring it back to. You know what? We loved this episode because we've seen the results in both of our fields, so and so had really good results with this. And I saw just as many results teaching her method. And then I use that and amplify the effectiveness with our method as well. See how I did that? We just bring it back into your sphere and your zone of genius. So if there's one thing that you can take away from this episode today is to make sure you stay the foremost expert in your field. Make sure that you are the one that people are going to that they can find the answers and the transformation from your show. And that is the second thing that I guess we can touch on and we're going to get into this deeper. But as you niche down that audience for yourself and you really position yourself as the expert, focusing on the transformations that you're taking your listeners from, what transformation is everybody going to get from each episode when they start the episode and spend that time with you? What can they expect to get on the back end of that show? For example, I just did that with you today. You found out the one big thing that you're screwing up if you don't do this, which was positioning yourself as the expert. So if you can do that in every show is position yourself as the expert in that subject, that's going to make it so much easier for people to get your supplements, buy your books, do your courses, enroll in your methodology by becoming the expert in your space. And I'm loving that we here going to be able to share so many more of these tips. And again, if you're really excited on how to position yourself even more and how to niche down, you're going to make sure you're going to want to make sure that you save this episode, save this show because we're going to dive into that in other episodes down the line. But that is the main juice from today. Don't give your shine away to somebody else today, guys. You're the expert. You're the one they're coming to make sure that you stand strong in your space as the go to expert. On your show. All right, we'll see you in the next one. Now. That was a great episode.
