Claude AI Can Now Read & Control Your Browser (Game Changer for HubSpot Users)

Adam Sand demos Claude's new browser extension on Sonnet 4.5, which can read web pages, take screenshots, scroll, and automate tasks like scheduling meetings in HubSpot. It's a research preview, so Anthropic warns against using it on banking sites or untrusted pages.

We're officially entering a new phase of AI. AI is actually working with us, not just responding to prompts. This is Claude's new browser extension running on Sonnet 4.5 and it completely changes how I work inside HubSpot in the browser. Let me show you what that actually looks like.
In practice I like to use Claude for my everyday just sort of AI use. When designing in HubSpot and designing as a developer, one of the cool things is their Sonnet 4.5 model, which is smarter and more efficient. And additionally with the Sonic 4.5 release, I got access to our CLAUDE extension. Yeah, let me go ahead and show you my screen here. And you actually get a little extension here for Claude and what it does is it actually directly interacts with your browser. And for those of you that are admins in your systems or trying to figure out how to navigate the world of technology, this can make it really easy and it makes the lift to use AI really easy. And I'm really excited for like others to come basically to get this in their subscriptions and everything else like that. So I can ask it to read what's on this page. Right. And watchfully do this, read what is on this page. And what it's going to go ahead and do is actually go ahead and view the page, take a screenshot of it. We go ahead and get basically what is available on this page. And what's interesting is if we give Claude like full access to and we have like a specific workflow that we want Claude to engage for us, we can go ahead and just have it commit to a bunch of changes. Right. And so we're going to try this live. It is a research preview. So I want you to read through, I want you to read through, through the properties on this page and then scroll down and read them again. Perfect. And so if we prompted to do that, it should be able to actually interact with our browser directly. And we'll go ahead and allow all actions on this site for right now and we can go ahead and in the settings, change that after this if need be. And let's go ahead and see. Perfect. So now it's actually scrolling, you can see that CLAUDE is scrolling and we can actually stop Claude here if need be. And it's reading what the page properties are. And if I had instructed it to go page after page, it would go ahead and do that. Now it's going to give me a summary of everything it sees as well as is it now has the information to continue working on whatever flow we were working modern business lives through the Internet, right? So we get a more integrated flow than we've ever had before with AI, which I am very much enjoying. Again, this all runs on the Sonnet 4.5 model and we do get traditional features like maybe we have an image or a screenshot. We've taken other elsewhere that we want to give context to this model to help us. And maybe the email we're writing, some really quick ways that I've seen it used already is. And I won't pull up my calendar over here, but on my calendar, for example, when I'm looking for a slot in all of my busy schedule, what it allows me to do is quickly say, hey, can you schedule a meeting between me, Gary and the tech support Tuesday crew? And it will look for that slot, right? And click on those people because you just prompted it to and schedule that. And what's great is that we can define shortcuts. So when you have a workflow like maybe schedule scheduling workflow or you're used to scheduling with certain people, or you have a template, right, that you use to hey Claude, schedule some people and you just list out the names of people in your prompt, you can create a shortcut to these prompts to make it so that things are easier to complete in the system. So just another way of just like automating the work that we're already doing. And so super useful. And like where I've used this already is like in email responses when trying to overview like really complex information or like when looking at marketing data, this has been super useful. So I'm really excited for this like to titrate down to like the base users and everything else because when this comes out, this extension is super powerful and I think will be super useful to a lot of people. Additionally, one of the things I wanted to point out is the ask without asking and the ask before acting because like privacy is like super important. And the other thing I wanted to call out, when you're on websites, go to trusted websites and don't go to banking websites and you know, things like that. What this is tool is doing is essentially reading the HTML and the code on the page, importing it into Claude and telling it to execute commands via that code, right? And so people can embed malicious code, malicious scripts, and it's a method called cross site scripting where by embedding basically something on the page that the user wouldn't see, they can go ahead and transfer that information into claude. That is one of the reasons it's still in Research Preview. And so if you do get access, keep it in your HubSpot, your Gmail, you know, the enterprise apps that you know you can trust for the time being.
