Short YouTube clip in which Adam Sand compares seasonal (temporary) holiday lighting versus permanent lighting for roofers. He advocates offering both but favors seasonal temporary lights as lower-cost to start, lower risk, and better for recurring revenue and high-margin upgrades (trees, extras).

Seasonal recurring revenue versus triple the price once. I have a lot of people who are die hard seasonal lighting. You get the decorations, you get to have more of a Christmasy look, right? They're die hard that way. And then I got permanent lighting guys who. That's all they want to do is permanent lights. My things do both, offer both if you can't pick one or the other. But if you have nothing else to get into, definitely the lower risk, higher reward to me in my perspective is the seasonal recurring revenue of hanging temporary lights. It's lower cost to get started. You don't have to worry about is cutting metal and trying to cut in trim and dealing with all these little lights that gotta be wired in. It's very straightforward. You're getting paid for a service. I like this business better too, because of the recurring revenue. That's the whole goal, is to get that recurring revenue. And plus with the holiday lighting, what I like is you can get all the trees too. You can get all little extras, all little upgrades that make it for the high margin, right? This is how you make Christmas miracles come true.
