How to Batch Post on Social Media Using HubSpot CRM for Roofing Companies

A how-to YouTube presentation by Adam Sand explaining why social media matters for roofing companies and demonstrating how to batch-create, schedule, and monitor social posts using HubSpot CRM (desktop and mobile). Covers choosing platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn), linking accounts, adding media, using AI-assisted copy, campaigns, default posting times, previewing/scheduling posts, and reviewing analytics to iterate on what works.

Find yourself doing all the mores and all the betters and you go all the news in that order and you get to the point where you're doing things that are hard to do and have very little impact. You probably should go back to the start and find the next constraint. Quick kind of rundown. Why is social media important? Important for the roofing industries. You can expand your marketing efforts with your social media, right? You can drive word of mouth. If you are present on social media and your customers know you're present on social media, they will engage with the local community. They will tag you because then you can communicate directly with prospects. So by social media we mean Facebook, Instagram and like X Twitter, right? These are all places to have brand awareness. And According to studies, 75% of social browsers use social media to research products and services. When they look at your company, they're going to go and look at your social media page and they're going to see like, are they active, are they relevant, have they posted content, Are they reachable? Because 71% of customers who've enjoyed a brand, services and experiences on social media are likely to tell other people, people about them. Look, this is how you get those people tagging you, okay, is because you're present on social media and they know you'll say thank you. So how can we better use this tool and multiply our efforts? So we put in one unit of effort and get three units of output, right? And that's by accessing the social media tool in HubSpot. And so I want to show you guys now a little bit on how to create a social post. So I'm going to give you guys kind of a walkthrough and then I will do it live for you so you can see how easy it is. All right, so, so in your HubSpot account, you're going to go to marketing and then social, you might have the new navigation on the left or you might have the navigation on the top. And again, this is. There's other social media tools that allow you to do this, like Hootsuite and other things like that. HubSpot just has it built into the CRM and then in the upper right, you create a social media post. From there you can choose which accounts you want to post to. So you'll notice here you can post to Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Now, X right, you can post to multiple accounts at the same time. You can also do LinkedIn. It's just not in this picture, but this logo right here is the LinkedIn logo. So you can also post to LinkedIn. So then when you go and make your post over here on the left, it's going to give you a preview on the right so you can see how it's going to look on all the different social media platforms. So you can see it's going to make sense. You can also insert emojis and hashtags from there. And then that will be the benefit of, is that now there's ways that the different platforms might pick up your content based on people's interests, right? Not emojis, but hashtags. So in order to do this, you have to link your social media accounts to the platform, right? And you can easily do this with these different ones. These are kind of the most relevant ones for roofers. Not really much on Twitter, X, maybe LinkedIn if you're doing commercial. But these are definitely the big ones, right, that you want to be on. And so then you can also schedule this post. So, so you can put a bunch of posts together at the same time so you can go in and batch work this, right? Because you get more efficient when you do something repeatedly over and over and over and over for a while. But if you had to like shovel the driveway, clean the gutters, make your toast, wash your car all at the same time, you get really slow and inefficient. Just the walking in between those four tasks would waste time. But if you just shovel your driveway, then clean your gutters, then go and make yourself some toast and then wash your car, that's a decent Sunday, you know what I mean? So it's either stress and frantic or it's like a decent Sunday where you feel productive. The difference is you're batching the work altogether. So you could do your whole month in social media posting. In fact, that's what Bettina does every single week. She's posting all the social media for us using HubSpot. And so when you're previewing that post, you can take a look at what it's going to look like before you schedule it. So that way you know it's lined up and then you can even do it from your mobile phone, which I'm going to show you how to do today. And it's super easy and user friendly. So again, you can take a picture out there in the real world or create a video out there in the real world and you can post it to all your social media channels right there from your phone when you're out there in the real world. And then you get analytics and data to see what's working. Because remember the consulting methodology, right? It's about first removing the constraint. What's the constraint to you using social media? You don't have a tool to make it easy, right? That's your constraint right now is you're like, oh, I don't have the time, it's too hard. I sometimes post to Facebook, but I don't post to all of them. And it's just so much work. That's the constraint. Then once you start posting, you want to get the data because, and this goes for anything in business, this is how consulting works, is that you get the data. Once you get the data and the reports, then you can see what's working and you just do more of what's working. And when more stops working, then you do better. And when better stops working, then you try new things and you do new things based on a hypothetical interpretation of what impact it will have. So you start with things that are easy to do, they would have a big impact. And then you go to things that are easy to do, that would have little impact, and then you go to things that are hard to do, they would have a big impact. And if you find yourself doing all the mores and all the betters and you go all the news in that order and you get to the point where you're doing things that are hard to do and have very little impact, you probably should go back to the start and find the next constraint, right? And so this is where I want to go now is I want to give you guys a demo, right, of what this looks like inside HubSpot, right? So again, you might have the new menu, right? At the old menu we get a marketing and then social. This is kind of your social hub now in here, right? You can see all your lists of all your posts that are coming up. So again, Bettina does this. So hopefully her calendar is full of posts. Great. Good job, Bettina. You're doing your work. Right? So when we look at this, we can see all the different posts that Bettina has scheduled for roofing business partner. So I can see these are all the ones she's done. And I kind of get little previews of what they are, right? So I can see kind of what she's posting and when they're going to go live, right? So she's got a constant feed going out on our socials to make sure that we got recent relevant content. Now, course you have to generate content, but like, she was busy here on the 20th. Look at this 16 different posts, like, right? So she's just hammering it. Now if I want to create a post, I can click on a calendar day just like I did. So again, how I did that is I just clicked on the 9th or the 30th here. Now I'm in that place. Now you can also, right, go and just hit. Create social posts, right? And now the first thing you want to do is say, what accounts am I posting to? So we have the Adam Sand Facebook page, like a business page or whatever. And then we also have the roofing business partner page. We have the RBP consulting Instagram, we have Twitter, and then we have my personal LinkedIn and my business LinkedIn. So you can pick all of them. Or if you say doing something about commercial roofing, right? So if you're going to make something about commercial roofing, LinkedIn is probably your spot, right? Because people, property managers go on LinkedIn to be better at their job. That's why people have LinkedIn. It's the social media platform for people who want to be better at their job. When I go on LinkedIn, right, all the people I follow are either consultants or HubSpot people. And so when I'm on there and I see guys like Shadab Khan or Kyle Jepsen, these people who are like the Dmitry Lipinskis of the HubSpot world or the Ryan Groths or the Adam Bensmans of the consulting world, right, in my industry, I go there and they post relevant content that makes me better at my job. And hopefully I'm putting out content that's making commercial roofing companies better at their job. Because commercial roofing companies are on LinkedIn and that's where I reach them. But also building managers are on LinkedIn and they go there to be better at their job. So if you're posting content that will help a commercial building manager feel like he could do his job better, he'd be more prepared for that. Once in a career roof replacement that they do, because again, you do them every day. These building managers, they could work six years for ABC building, building management or property management. And they'll do the carpets and maintain the elevator and redo the windows and they'll talk about the cleaning services and they'll have to do stuff like fixing lights and doors and repainting and redoing the front entryway, right? But they'll never touch the roof. And then they'll go and work for XYZ property management and same thing, they'll spend another six years there. Redoing the windows, getting the paving, dealing with the exterior washing, get the concrete refinished, get a street sweeping team to clean out the parking lot. But they never touched the roof. And then now they're 12 years into their career and then they go work for, I don't know, pmu, property management. And now first year, boom, they got to replace the roof on a strip mall. And they've never done it before. 13 years experience. So if you're posting content that helps them prepare for that, you now become a thought leader in that. So that's why you might want to do LinkedIn. Okay, just giving you a free tip there. All right, so now if you decide your social media platform, then you're going to say, okay, I want to add my media. So you can do either pictures or video, right? Or you can just do text if you want. But let's say we're going to do an image one, right? So go through and you'd pick an image, right? So if we're going to promote a course, right? So we have a collaborative webinar coming up with make taxes fair. Right? So this is a tax planning company that does roofing stuff. Now you can go about, you have emojis, you can attach content or you can do your AI assistant. So let's say I want to use the AI assistant. Now all I'm going to do is click here and I'm going to say something like a light or let's say a witty host in the voice of Joe Rogan or who would be better about taxes in the voice of David. What's his name? Damsy. There you go. Dave Ramsey. Yeah, Dave Ramsey. About the importance of roofing business owners not just paying taxes, but planning for taxes and how our webinar coming up will help them do better at this. This because of our guest, Chris Middleton on our upcoming webinar. Okay, so I didn't plan this ahead. I'm just literally doing this. I would normally do it. Hey, roofing business owners, Dave Ramsey here with a friendly reminder. That's not okay, maybe not quite perfect. I have to adopt upto this. And so Chris Milton sharing his expertise on how to better navigate the tax world. Trust me, you don't want to miss this out. So now I could do a couple things I could say in the voice of Dave Ramsey. Yeah, you know what, I'm gonna go. I could go generate more. See, we get for another one. Join me on upcoming special guest, Chris Milton. The plan for the boss. Don't make it like you don't let's make sure you're not shingling away your hard earned profits. I like that. Almost done. This viable opportunity to level up your business game. See you there. Tax money. Okay, great. Okay, so I'm gonna go like this. Now Bettina said that there's another image that she just uploaded. So there you go. So now I'll have a carousel ad because I uploaded multiple pictures, right? So it's going to be the kind of post that would have be a carousel. Right? Now I don't like the way this is showing up so I'm actually going to get rid of this one and have it be just this one. And so I would if. Now let's see. So sometimes we set up campaigns right where we say we want to have a campaign and that does allow us to group a bunch of assets together to say, hey, you know what, we're going to be doing a bunch of things right, that these are a bunch of different marketing efforts. So Bettina just messaged me privately and said it's the Evergreen Courses audience. Is it this one? Evergreen out of speaking engagements or Evergreen Courses audience? This one the audience boost. Yes. Okay, there we go. All right, so that's the campaign. So now any effort that we put into this marketing, ads, forms, lists, anything, anything that we choose to put in this, it's going to say what has been the return on investment of this campaign. So let's go do that. Now we, we have some default things right here, right, the default posting times. So then I don't know what Bettina's plan is, but we're going to go with this. Oh, it says we already have one post for that time. So now I'll set it for five. She already has one post for three o' clock and one post for 1105. So what she's doing is she's been analyzing and seeing what times work best for posting and now she set them up as defaults. So what that is is that's right, put out more posts then when that starts working, do better. Right, okay. And then what she's saying is she's reminding me that I should have probably put a link in my post. So I'm just going to make sure that link works. All right, Now I go back to here and we'll say see there? So we'll put it right here. Now that's what my post looks like. Now I wouldn't use this on LinkedIn because. Or sorry, on Instagram, because on Instagram you can't click the links right. But I Could put it on roofing business partners business page. Right. So now I know that I'm gonna be posting this tomorrow, right, at 5:00pm, right. It's assigned to a campaign and it's going. I can customize it so it would be different for LinkedIn. So maybe I want to go a roofing business owners and then a Facebook. I could change this to hey, roofers. Then I could see which post performed better based on headline. Okay, so now from here I'm gonna go review. Actually, is there anything else? Nope. All right, so now I want to go review. These are the two posts that I'm going to run. All right, Your preview and now schedule. So now that's super easy. Now if I go to the 29th, you can see this post is going out at this time. So see it on my calendar. I can also see it on my list. I go to. Oh, it won't be on here because it's not published yet. That's right, it'll be scheduled. There we go. So that's how that works, right? From there, you can also monitor your streams for comments. Right? So I can say, oh, this person commented and say, hey, thanks so much for following. It's not often I meet roofers on X. We need some likes so you can set feeds, right, of different things that are coming in. So then you can go archive all. Now they go away. When I get new ones, they'll be coming in. And then we can analyze how good of a job Bettina's been doing by seeing, okay, what is the audience, how many published posts? So she's put out 204 published posts in the last month, where she's getting most of our clicks, where our engagements are coming, where our website sessions are coming from, how often it generates new contacts. And we can see which ones are causing the most clicks. So we can monitor and see what's doing better. Right. So everything is made very easy to do on social media management here. Does everybody feel like they understand how to do it from your desktop? Because the next thing I'll do is do it from mobile. Perfect. All right, so I'm going to go in here, right? So all kinds of stuff in here, right? I want to go to my social. So if you can see menu, then you see social right here in marketing, you see it down here and highlighted in blue. Click social. So again, I can see all the published posts, all the scheduled posts. So I can go see, hey, what's patina post like? Why is she posting. Ryan, what's this? Right. And I can see what this post is. I can go in here and see the video. Nobody is doing stuff that works. And I know that there are competitors out there who have good solutions, but it's far and few between this system that we have. So I can see what post she's got going on. But now if I want to create one, I hit create in the top, right? So again, I can pick which ones I want to put it out on. So Instagram is usually a little bit better for like, you know, posting some stuff about our personal life. People seem to like that stuff. So I can do a post or I can do a reel, right? So I can go like that. Now again, I can come into my photos. I can choose video, Why not? So again, I can use this. I'll just use my voice to text here. Say something light hearted and sweet about how owning a business is always contrasting against being a dad and how it's so important as a business owner to build your company to find the time to be able to spend time with your kids. Let's see if AI can make me sound sweet. I love this. See? And so now from here, right, I can do that. And so I can say I can maybe put an emoji in here. Go world. Okay, next. Oh, I didn't know you had that feature. Right, there we go. Transparency on the AI side. All right, now I hit publish now. That's going to go live. Now I could have put that to multiple channels or I could put that to just one channel. But again, the whole idea now can I do all my reporting and everything like that from here? Well, yes, I can still go into my dashboards and look at if there's a something in here about some marketing. I could see if we've got this in here. There we go. Social interactions by network. So I got some reporting in here that I got. You can also ask the AI to generate me a report. So the whole idea is that you've got either the AI report maker or you can go about it in your actual dashboards. So you can't do everything from the mobile app, but you can still do a whole hell of a lot. All right, so that's social media posting.
