If you look at cars, you search, you pull up 50 of those that are for sale, 45 of them say the price. Five of them say call for price. That car is sitting there on the lot for a long time. I see the exact same thing happening in roofing sooner than contractors think, where this becomes the default way for homeowners to shop. People just don't like or appreciate price shopping anymore.
This is a thing I know a thing or two about because I worked in the car industry. As this transition happened, we started a little experiment out of a leaky shop where we used to store the commercial vehicles and we called it a completely different name. We just sold vehicles online, but we did transparent pricing, full pictures, and we dominated. We made more profit than the main dealership just because of this online experiment. And that online experiment went out to all the dealerships. This is back in like 2013. Wow. This is going to happen in the roofing industry and you don't want to be left behind.
