So 10k rule goes like this. You probably shouldn't be doing $20 an hour work. Instead you should be doing $10,000 a day work. $10,000 work is the kind of work that's going to move your business forward in a big way. It doesn't necessarily take a lot of time, but it can have a huge impact. Things like building a new marketing campaign, hiring or firing the right person, negotiating better deals with your suppliers. On the flip side, that $20 an hour work that I don't want you guys doing, formatting, spreadsheets, checking your 14th email of the day or of the hour, those are all things that need to get done, but you don't necessarily need to be the person to do them. Think like the investor here. That short term pain is going to give you long term gain. So here's another thing for you guys to think about. The next time you're doing something, ask yourselves, is this a $20 an hour task or a $200 an hour task? Because if it's a $20 an hour task, delegate it, automate it, batch it up somehow, and if it's $200 an hour work, do more of that. Like just double down and do more of that.
