In this video, the speaker draws on a childhood game called “follow the leader” to illustrate the hierarchy of spiritual authority. He explains that while a teacher (representing God) gives ultimate direction, a child appointed as leader (human teachers or pastors) merely relays that direction. When a human leader deviates from Scripture, the speaker warns believers not to follow them simply because they have been designated as a leader. He argues that such leaders may be under a different spirit and that followers should instead obey God’s supreme authority. The speaker urges listeners to adopt a Berean approach—checking every teaching against the Bible, praying for discernment, and relying on the Holy Spirit. He references Mark 5:13 (the pigs) as a cautionary image of being led astray. The core message is a call to personal study, prayer, and spiritual discernment rather than blind conformity to human authority.
Chapters
When I was in elementary school, we had this thing called follow the leader. And so the teacher would give a specific student the task of leading the entire class to the cafeteria, to the library, or to the computer lab for wherever we were going. However, it was our responsibility to also know that even though the teacher gave the leader the instructions for where we were to go, if that leader got out of line, it affected everybody behind them because the teacher who has supreme authority told us what direction to go in and where we were going. And so our responsibility was to follow what the teacher said, right? While also understanding that this person that we're behind, the teacher gave that responsibility to lead us, but ultimately our responsibility was to do what the person who was in supreme authority said. Said to do. And so right now what's happening in the realm of the spirit is that there are a lot of people following this same thing that I learned in elementary school, where you have a person in front of you who is teaching you the Bible, telling you these things and all of this stuff. And the moment that you begin to question it, the moment that you begin to check behind them and you see that what they're saying is not biblical, it, it can't be found, you prayed about it, all the things, and you ask the Holy Spirit to open up your eyes, and it's just not there, because it's not. Uh, the moment that you question that, they call you the sheep that has gotten out of line. And I'm here to tell you that you should get out of line if that person is causing you to rebel against God and his word. They are not full of the Holy Spirit, and so that means they're under the influence of another spirit. And you don't want to be caught just following the leader because you've been told to follow the leader. Who is the teacher and the one who gives authority to all men? God. And so just like when I was in elementary school, we understood that our— it was our responsibility to follow the teacher's instructions. Even though this child who was given instructions was leading the class, it was still our responsibility to follow the teacher's instructions. It's the same way with God. Anytime you see a leader going another direction that is in total rebellion against God, Contradicting the word, all of those things. Your responsibility is to stay going in the direction that God said to go. You should be like the Bereans, checking behind everybody, anything that it is that they say. Don't follow the herd, follow God, okay? You don't want to become like the pigs in Mark chapter 5:13. Read the Bible for yourself, pray for yourself, learn how to discern for yourself.
