In this sermon excerpt, the speaker urges believers not to water down Scripture or compromise their devotion, time, or consecration to the Lord. He asserts that any desire or prayer that requires lowering God's standards is not from God, because God alone determines what is good. The speaker proposes a simple test for purity of a desire: does it bring glory to God and honor Him? If a pursuit detracts from God, it cannot be considered divine.

Anything that you have to water down God's word, compromise your beliefs, compromise your time that you spend with God, compromise your devotion unto the Lord, compromise being consecrated unto the Lord— anything that requires you to lower the standard that God has set is not a desire that comes from him. And I know you want to believe that everything that is good that you pursue is from God, but God is the one who determines what is good. And so if what you are pursuing takes you away from him, it's not from him in the first place. Because everything that God gives you is going to bring glory back to him. It's gonna always honor him. So the way that you determine whether a desire or a prayer point that you keep taking to God is something that is pure is, does it bring glory to him? Does it honor him?
