It’s Time to Tell The Truth

In this sermon, the speaker urges believers to stop keeping secrets and telling lies, especially regarding sexual abuse, rape, molestation, and other forms of wrongdoing that have been passed down through families and churches. Citing Ephesians 5:11, the speaker interprets the verse as a command to avoid participating in "unfruitful works of darkness" by remaining silent, and instead to expose such darkness. The talk emphasizes that secrecy and falsehood perpetuate curses, trauma, and generational cycles of abuse, while truth brings freedom and healing. Listeners are encouraged to seek professional help—therapy, medical care, pastors—and to rely on the Christian community for support. The speaker stresses that honesty with God and others is essential for physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wholeness, and that the enemy thrives on hidden sin. The overall message is a passionate call to break the silence, confront painful truths, and allow the truth of Christ to set individuals free.

No more secrets and lies. No more secrets and lies. One of the things that has been very heavy on my heart, even sprouting from prayer this morning, is about how the most diabolical things have been able to travel from generation to generation in families, in churches, in the world alike. And the reason is because we tell lies to protect secrets. To keep people that we love out of trouble. But one of the things I want to bring to your attention is Ephesians 5:11. And I know a lot of the times this scripture is used to expose false teachers and false prophets and all the other things, but there's more than one way that scripture can be utilized. And Ephesians 5:11 says, take no part in the unfruitful Works of darkness, but instead expose them. And we don't see how keeping secrets and telling lies is us taking part in the unfruitful works of darkness. You choosing to stay silent when you see evil being done is you partaking in the unfruitful works of darkness. If you see it or it is happening to you and you choose to tell a lie To then make it a secret, you are partaking in darkness. And the Bible says to take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. And a lot of us are scared to tell the truth about things that have happened to us. We're scared to confess it in therapy. We won't book a therapist. We won't go talk to a doctor. We won't talk to the pastor or anybody that can help us move through things because we're just like, well, if I expose them, then I'm gonna get in trouble. Well, here's the thing. If you don't expose them, the curse continues, the lie continues, and then you spread that lie to your children. And the Bible does not tell us to believe the best about people. It tells us to test the spirits to see whether they are from God or not. So I'm not for believing the best about everyone. I'm not gonna believe the best about a pedophile, because if you are a pedophile, that means you have a desire To ruin the lives of children. You have the desire to take the innocence of a child away. You can be locked up and find Jesus in prison. And so we have to get to the place where we stop keeping secrets and stop telling lies. Sometimes we are being held captive to things in our life because we refuse to be honest about what really happened. If it was rape, we won't say it was rape. We'll say, okay, well, so-and-so did I didn't mean it. And uncle this didn't mean to do that. It was just a mistake and he was just drunk. No, he wasn't just drunk. He raped you. He molested you. He or she did it to you. He or she exposed you to porn at an age that you shouldn't have been exposed to porn. We just keep trying to find cute ways to cover up things that actually happened to us. And I'm telling you, secrets and lies will kill you. We need each other in the body of Christ. The Bible is very clear how we should bear one another's burdens. Not be strong for one another, but bear one another's burdens. The Bible talks about how we should dwell together with one another in unity. And how can we dwell in unity when one of us is keeping a secret, one of us is telling a lie, and that lie keeps getting passed through generation, through generation, through generation? If someone was abusive in your family, you won't call it abuse. You'll just say, well, they didn't know any better. They did it the best they could. I get it. They did do the best they could. But if they were abusive, they were abusive, and you need help. Nothing is wrong, and it does not make you faithless to go and seek out help from people who have been trained and skilled by God in his kingdom, even to help you work through the issues that plague your soul. Stop keeping secrets. Stop telling lies. God wants us to be whole physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Because if you are keeping secrets and you're telling lies, you are taking part in unfruitful works of darkness. And the Bible tells us to expose it. And I'm telling you, as I've said so many times before, whatever you do not expose in the light of the Lord, the enemy will feast on. And that is why some of you are still captive after all of these years. Some of you are still bound with the same thing after all of these years because you refuse to expose it in the light for what it was. The Bible says also that you will know the truth and the truth shall do what? Set you free. So until you tell the truth and stop keeping your secrets and lies because you think that's protecting you, but it's not. It's only keeping you in bondage. The enemy is the one who wants you to suffer in silence, not God. God did not call you to be a strong friend. God did not call you to be strong for everybody in your family. God did not call you to carry the weight of the world on your heart. There is one Savior, and he is Jesus. And he is Jesus the healer, and he wants to use people as well in your life to help you work through the things that plague your soul. Sometimes God answers your prayers in the form of people, and some of us are too prideful to recognize that. And that's why after 30 years, after 40 years, After 60 years, you still battling with rejection. You still battling with a heavy spirit of fear. You still feeling the effects of the trauma. Because every time God gives you an opportunity to expose the unfruitful work of darkness that was done towards you, you hide and cover and protect the person. And love covers the multitude of sins has nothing to do with unfruitful works of darkness. Stop keeping secrets and stop telling lies. Be honest with God about what happened to you. Expose it in the light of the Lord, you know. And we gotta stop keeping secrets and telling lies. Call a thing for what it is. Expose it in the light of the Lord so the enemy can stop feasting on it and plaguing you and your soul. No more secrets, no more lies. Take no part in unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. That's Ephesians 5:11. God bless you.
