A speaker uses the seed-and-soil analogy to explain that spiritual callings must die within you before they produce real life. Unless you're willing to be okay without the expected outcome, you'll worship the result instead of God.

Before soil brings life, it kills the seed. You say, I have a word from the Lord. I have prophetic destiny. Find soil that will hide you long enough to let the shell break and die so that real life can flow. I'm telling you right now, until it dies to you, you'll never be entrusted with it. If you're not okay without it, you're not ready to have it. Because if you need it to happen to be okay, you will worship it. Oh no, I wouldn't. I would give glory to God. You will think about it more than you think about Jesus, which is called meditation. It's got to all die in you. Doesn't mean you don't want to see God's will fulfilled in your life. Of course not. But God won't share your heart with his assignment over your life. You've got to get to the place where if it were just you, of course your family, your Bible, you'd be all right. If God dismissed your mandate or your missions trip, would you be okay? That's where God wants to get you. And then once you're there, he goes, the seed died in soil.
