In this devotional sermon, the speaker urges listeners to treat each day as if they have just been saved, praising God with fresh gratitude. He warns that believers often treat God’s work—salvation, healing, redemption—as routine, which dulls its significance. Using Psalm 103, he highlights the specific benefits God provides: forgiveness of sin, healing of disease, redemption from the pit, steadfast love, mercy, and renewal like an eagle’s youth. He explains that David, after pleading in Psalm 102 not to hide God’s face, commands his soul to remember these benefits, demonstrating a practice of continual remembrance that combats heaviness and discouragement. The speaker emphasizes trusting God beyond what can be seen or felt, repeatedly urging listeners to command their souls to recall God’s past work as a remedy for spiritual heaviness. The message concludes with an exhortation to praise God daily as if salvation were brand‑new, reminding believers of the benefits already received to overcome discouragement.

It's a great day to praise God like you just got saved yesterday or this morning. One of the things I shared yesterday in a short on here is that sometimes we be treating God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, our relationship with God, our testimony, the things God has brought us through as common. We reduce it to an everyday average thing like it just happens every day, and granted, Jesus does save people every day, all day. We're just like, well, yeah, I'm used to God doing it. That's not a big deal. It's like, nah, Jesus saving you was a big deal. Jesus saving and delivering and healing other people is a big deal. Heaven throws a praise party when people get saved. So it should be a big deal to you every day that Jesus saved your life. So in Psalm 103, David says, bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's. Now, one of the things you must understand is that prior to David writing this in Psalm 102, he was just talking to God about not hiding his face from him. So he was walking through the valley of the shadow of death. He's not gonna fear any evil. And then he begins to command his soul to remember the thing that God continues to do for him. He commands his soul to remember. He tells his soul, you're gonna remember these benefits. You ain't gonna forget. We gonna bless the Lord today. We're gonna bless the Lord and forget not all his benefits. So David understands the power of reminding his soul of the benefits he gets to experience because he belongs to God. And sometimes the reason why we are experiencing so much heaviness and discouragement and we feeling down and out and like God isn't here, he's not there, is because we have not reminded our soul of the benefits we get to experience in God, which is Okay, because David ain't leaving no questions about what them benefits were. He said, who forgives all your iniquity? So David had just got done praying and asking God, don't hide your face from me, in Psalm 102. And then instead of focusing on the fact that he couldn't see God's face, he began to remind his soul that even if you don't see God Even if you don't feel God, he is still with you. That means that you must learn how to trust God further than you can see him. Okay, further than you can see him, further than you can see him, further than you can see him. Somebody say, trust God further than you can see him, period. And he says, who heals all your diseases. Who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's. So instead of lingering around in what David couldn't feel, hear, and see, David understood the power of commanding his soul to remember that even though I can't see, I can't feel, and I'm begging you, God, not to hide your face from me, I'm gonna trust you further than I can see you. I'm gonna remind my soul of the benefits I already have. I'm gonna remind my soul that you forgave me for all of my sin. I'm gonna remind my soul that you healed me, that you healed my body. I'm gonna remind my soul that you kept me from being overtaken by all of my enemies. I'm gonna remind my soul of what you did. So praise God like you just got saved yesterday. 5 minutes ago this morning. And let not your soul forget all the benefits you already got. I know this season may not be the easiest thing for you to walk through. It may be difficult. You may feel discouraged. You may feel like God isn't near, but remind your soul of the benefits you already have and that are already given to you. Praise God. Like you just got saved yesterday. Command your soul to remember the benefits that Jesus paid for you. That's the way out of the spirit of heaviness. God bless you.
