EP 427 – Funding Hacks with Merrill Chandler
25 Mar 2019 · 46 min
Merrill Chandler, founder of Credit Sense, talks with Scott Carson about fundability and credit optimization. They cover why credit scores alone don't determine funding, the mistakes people make with credit repair, and how to manage credit lines strategically to qualify for better deals.
Foreign. This is the no Closer show where you get the latest developments in distressed note investing and learn the secrets of how you can control millions of dollars worth of property for pennies on the dollar. Get educated and entertained by someone who has closed thousands of deals and lives to support you in achieving the same. Now, here's your host, CEO of We Close notes, Scott Carson. Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, everybody. Welcome to this episode of the Nut Closers show. As always, my name is Scott Carson. Excited to be here, the host and of course we are jacked up. We are all kinds of effed up with our buddy Meryl Chad. You gotta love that. My buddy, huh?
I missed the set. He goes for the spike and completely misses. We're all kinds of effable guys that backwards like I do. Or do you see that?
It looks great. For those that are watching on our Facebook or YouTube channels, you can see it. RUFL funding hacker. I love that. Hashtag fun.
Hashtag funding hackers. So that's our newest bit of swag. We do some tests so that we can find the perfect font. So you can see it from 400ft away, right? We want to be visible, arrested for indie public indecency, whatever it takes. So we have a message is you can either be fundable. When it comes to real estate entrepreneurial engagements, you can either be fundable or you can be effed. There's no real middle ground, right? You either you get approved for your loans and that could be cars, autos, credit cards on the personal side, business lines of credit, commercial loans, etcetera on the business side. But you're either getting approved or you're not. And there's magic to getting becoming fundable on the business side. So that's our new swag. That's been our motto for a minute. It also represents the name of my forthcoming book and that'll be out in Q2 of this year where it's are you effable or just f. So look for that at all of your high boutique note closing podcasts.
There you go. Exactly. For those that are joining us for hearing from Meryl the first time, Meryl is your title. CEO, Chief officer, chief bottle washer.
Yeah, I am. I'm the janitor and IT guy. But I happen to have founded the greatest fundability enhancement organization ever known to mankind and womankind. So I've been doing this for 25 years. I co founded Lexington Law Firm, the single largest credit repair law firm in the country. Quickly learned that you can't repair your way to fundability you can't repair your way to approvals. I left Lexington to develop this technology. Oh, got a great announcement also. We've been to two of them so far. In November of this year, FICO World is being hosted again by fico. And as you guys all know, FICO is the measure of all things credit, both personal and in business. We go there every single to every single event and sit at the feet of the credit and scoring gods and learn all the new tech that they're implementing. And then we bring that home and give that to our students, our clients, and help them understand what lenders are using to fund their borrowers. And then we make you fundable. We shape you and your business and personal credit profiles so that you can be fundable so nobody else does this. I invented this tech and met the CEO and score development teams of FICO so that we could actually improve our client system. So I love what I do.
That is totally obvious. With your energy every time we talk and I've done you for a while now. Credit Maryland is just a always great time visiting with you. Your energy is just up 150%. Not 100%. For those of you that may have to turn the volume down a little bit, that's okay.
That's Merrill Chandler.
That's Merrill Chandler. And the company's talking about his company. I don't think you mentioned it, but it's credit sense.com correct?
Credit sense.com exactly.
Credit sense.com great job. We're clients. A lot of our students are clients. A lot of our friends of the WCN Nation or Note Nation are clients out there because you've done some amazing things out there for those who are listening, because this is going on across just Facebook and YouTube and all the different podcasting platforms, but Also across our 16am FM radio stations across the country. Let's talk about what you're not. Let's talk about that because I think there's a big thing. Oh, this is a credit repair company. You're not a credit repair company. Let's clarify that and go from there.
All right, so first things first, like I said, I co founded the single largest credit repair law firm in the country. They've been and for credit report pair, they do it a reasonable job. I mean, what is there to do? You write a letter, hope something dispute letter to the credit bureaus and you hope something comes off. That's why you can't repair your way to fundability. There's no such thing at the credit cards. They introduced the credit building Strategies that they introduce all inert to their benefit. If they send you to a credit card, that credit card pays them a fee. And it's usually not beneficial to your credit profile. Don't mean to break anybody's hearts, but like, Capital One is not a good credit card to have in your personal credit portfolio. So when they say, what's in your wallet? I say, not your cards. Right? On the business side, you'll notice those of you who have been astutely aware they don't have any real business cards. It says business credit on their card, like Spark or otherwise, but it reports to your personal profile, so it's not a business card. True business credit stays on the business side. It doesn't report to your personal. So these are the types of things that we're not credit repair and we don't sell you credit cards that ruin your credit or are poser credit cards. Credit repair is 8% of what we do for those clients who have a few derogatories on their on their credit report. Most of our clients have good credit. They're just not fundable. No one will give them money, and they don't know why. We know why. Our collaboration with and studying at the feet of FICO has told us why. And we can show you how to optimize your personal and business credit profiles so you can get funding of any type, any kind of.
Now, one of the things that I've surprised Memnonia, and I think it was a very valuable point, is that there's more than just your payment history. There's what, 40 different points that banks look at. And only eight of those 40 points have to deal with your payment history and back stuff. Is that correct, Meryl?
That is correct. So FICO measures 40 characteristics of your, what are called performance data on your personal credit profile. 40 characteristics. People come to me all the time on national real estate conventions or otherwise speaking, and they'll come up and say, yeah, I have an 800 plus credit score. And I go, so where's your million dollars in business lines of credit? And they're like, no one will give me any money. And I'm like, okay, doesn't that sound a little contradictory? 800 credit isn't creating fundings on your business side, right? And so what people learn to use a basketball metaphor. Having good credit just keeps you off the bench. You're in the game, but you're off the bench. If you got bad credit, you've been benched, right? But just because you're on the court doesn't mean you're a good player. We need to make you a professional. This isn't some pickup game at the rec center, right? This is professional borrowing. We need to make you a professional borrower so that every time the lenders give you a credit line, the ball, every time they give you a ball, you score, you win, they make money, you make money and you win the championship. So there's the metaphor for you bottom line is 40 characteristics. You master those on your personal credit profile. That's what creates making you a professional borrower. Paying on time just keeps you in the game. It doesn't make you good and it certainly doesn't make you fundable. So great point, Scott.
Well, I got that point from you, my friend.
Huh. Where did you learn such amazing technology?
I learned that at the foot of the credit optimization God, Merrill Chandler.
Oh, good on Shamish. Thank you. No, seriously, this is my passion, right? And what we do is we make you fundable. That's the message we gave. When I met with the CEO at fico, Will Lansing, I called him, wanted to call him Parsing Will Lansing, the CEO of fico. When I met with him, he asked me what our business model was and I said, we make borrowers fundable. We optimize borrowers credit profiles so they can be fundable. And he's like, well, we optimize lenders, right? Let me have you talk to my score development team. And that's when we got introduced and we're going back. I love FICO World. Anybody who's around in November, you're going to be seeing podcasts or not podcasts, but Facebook Live after Facebook Live while we're there in front of. Dude, I am the stupidest person in the room when I go there. No joke. I mean, the waiters probably know more than I do because they are in every single class. Right? I cannot believe that I am do not know anything compared to these guys. And yet when we bring it home to our clients, just like you said, we get to convey such unheard of things and strategies like you learned in the intensive, Right? So yeah, it's awesome.
Exactly. And Meryl and I were talking beforehand before we went live here with everybody started with the show that we, you and I both have been road warriors in the last couple years. Going out, going to the different expos, whether it's the REI Expo or the Think Realty Expo or Distressed Mortgage Expo, noteworthy, whatever it might be, we've been road wars or things like that. But one of the great things that you are Doing that you've done started doing. I think you did one beginning of last year, you've been doing a couple online workshops about once a month.
Yep.
To an audience of those that are looking to really understand this model and then also help them take their fundability levels to a whole greater ball game. You want to talk a little bit about kind of what's on. You mentioned the intensive. Is that in person? Is that mostly online? Share that with our listeners out there. Kind of how you're doing, helping educate people out there. Because it's not just doing it, you're actually taking it and breaking it down step by step for people.
Yes. So my model for the last 20 years is to have a boutique business. Right. It's all about. I just had a few clients. They were high net worth individuals, most of them real estate investors, note buyers, etc. And we optimized for them. We just took over their profiles and we optimized, gave them instructions and did it for them. And then I just kept getting more and more feedback. I can't afford $25,000, but I want this stuff right from people. People came to us and said that friends and family of our clients were like, do you have something, do you have anything that I can share with? And there was just all this demand. And I said no. I took my executive team and we just decided that we were going to start getting the tech out there so that people could do this, so that they could see what long term fundability means. Right. We still have coaching and we have numerous levels of coaching, but we wanted to give people a chance to get their feet wet and even see if this was something that was interesting to them. So we have, there's two phases of it. We have a web class every week on Thursday night, by the way. Now you can go to fundinghackers.com tada and sign up for the weekly web class. So every Thursday we have a web class and you register for it and it'll give you the information you need to be able to get that. It's like 50 minutes to an hour and you go to the web class. They're live by the way. These are not recorded. It's me or my chief funding officer Brad Burnett. And we do these live so we can do q and a, etc. Then at the web class you can opt in for a boot camp intensive. And it's a two day, usually it's a Saturday and a Sunday. It's 16 hours worth of fundability tech. I mean literally we're Going to be talking one day of personal fundability on your personal profile. I don't care what your score is, guys. That doesn't make you fundable. So fundability on one day and then business the second day. And guess what cost 97 bucks for the whole weekend. Because my mission now is my full service client pay my bill. My mission now is to get this information out to people so that they can start seeing what long term fundability looks like. Interest rates continue to rise. We want the very best rate possible on anything that we're doing either on our personal or business lives. So you can go straight to epicfundingsecrets.com bootcamp intensive or you can go to fundinghackers.com and, and that's how you register for the web class. But either one of them take you into this funnel. There's no big upsells. There's no. This isn't an excuse to put you in a room. I'm going to bury you in this level of energy. I mean, ask Scott. He attended one, he attended one two times ago. And I'm telling you right now, tell them, Scott. What do you get? Is this the sales pitch you go to?
No, it's not a sales pitch. That's the whole reason we have you back on here on a monthly basis because I found it so valuable to it. And actually I did a webinar. You may not know it, but I had a webinar about the basic necessities of a note investor. Even real estate investors. One of the things you have to do. And I talked about you and your epic funding. Bootcamp epicfundingsecrets.com Bootcamp intensive talk about being one of the most critical things that I've learned in the last couple years was sitting. I actually sat through it. It wasn't me just say showing up. And I came to my office and I went to work for a Saturday, Sunday by being on the computer here. And I was just blown away by all the different things that I learned. That some things that were miss that were way wrong and other things I was like, oh wow, that's different than I thought angle. I mean it was nugget after nugget after nugget. And yes, you spent the whole first day on your personal stuff. I love the score sheets that you have everybody fill out. That's an eye opening experience there helping.
You have you audit your personal credit profile and find out how fundable you are. It's an index that we built with what we learned from FICO and We call it the fundability index. And you literally audit your fundability and know what your grade is to see how fundable you are and then what to do about it.
Yeah. And then I was also very surprised that one of the biggest things you say that screw up people spread it is the fact that they don't always match up perfectly with the profiles. Whether it's their names are off, their dates of birth or whatever. Or in my case, I had 27 different addresses that showed up from moving so much over the last decade and buying and flipping and spending time traveling the country and moving around Austin as I moved from fix to flip. That was the I glaring, Lily. Like a full page of addresses on one whole page of my report. I was like, oh my gosh, I understand this now. And you're laughing, but that affects it, right?
What does the bank see when they.
See somebody who's got that many addresses?
So here's kind of the thousand foot view. You're a set of data points. You're not a person, right? Until you go into manual underwriting and you meet with a loan officer and you give them your driver's license or whatever, you're a set of data. Now the data that they use are what's on the credit bureau databases. But because you don't know what you're doing yet, in my instance, before I knew what I was doing, I filed for credit under Merrill Chandler. Merrill Ray Chandler, Merrill R. Chandler. Well, that's three different identity and different addresses because I do real estate investing as well, so I have different addresses. Well, all those data points create confidence or a lack of confidence because the algorithm, remember how many of you have been approved for a credit card in 30 seconds, two minutes? You got an approval, right? They didn't. Talk to a human being and review your it's automatic underwriting software is evaluating it. And FICO has. One of the things I learned at FICO is they have what's called an application score. Go Google it. FICO application score. It measures the difference between you what you put on an application versus what the databases have. And remember, there's three databases. So each database has to be identical to what's on your application for you to get 100% application score, which is what gets you approved TADA. But you will get lower limits. They may approve you because you have a good profile, good score metric, but they will not give you the highest limit. They'll give you a 5,000 or a 10,000 instead of a 20 or 30,000 because your data doesn't match up and they're giving you a teaser test to make sure that's not fraudulent. So guys, yeah, all of this stuff, we cover all that identity stuff on day one of the intensive. So go to fundinghackers.com register for a web class and it's free. Just start learning this stuff. Just learn it. If you want to get involved, make that decision later. Just listen to what is actually going on out there. Because like Scott said, so many things are upside down or you're trained backwards. One of the big ones we talked about on the businesses, that whole Dun and Bradstreet, you have a Duns number is important, but you have a paydex score. That paydex score is bogus. It has been used by bankers, by business lenders for years. FICO has taken over that metric with what's called liquid credit. Fico Liquid credit. It's the small business scoring service. You don't even know how they're measured. How would you like to play a game where you didn't know what the scoreboard was measuring? Is it measuring number of times you ran up and down the court? Not baskets. That's too obvious. How many times you took a breath on the court? You have no idea what the scoreboard is measuring. So just take the class, get educated. We have stopped being a full service client relations company and become an education company because people do not know this. And we're changing lives everywhere across the country because you finally get a chance to look at this. You find the truth and look under the hood, behind the curtain. How many metaphors do I need to use?
All right, great and powerful. OZ Credit. Oz. You had so many things. Another thing that stood out was that with people, when you have credit cards, you don't want to be going above 40%.
38%. Technically you don't want above 40, but we always tell our clients, here's a freebie for you. You don't want your balances to be 30 above 38% because when they tack on interest, that interest is going to take you above. If you're at 40%, the interest that they talk it on at the end of the month and then report to the bureaus will take you over 40% and you end up in the risk department. So if you do 38%, then when they add on interest, you're still under 40% and you pass muster and you don't end up in the risk department or being flagged by your lender as an at risk account. Look at that.
Come on now. Now, as a previous banker, one of the things that they teach us as a banker is that we're selling products as a bank, like, I want to work for JPMorgan Chase, that we got paid a flat salary plus commission off of banking product checking accounts or lines of credit or loans, or one of the easiest ones that would pay us 25 bucks for every credit card we got approved, or every person accepted a credit card and you shared something very knowledgeable, like, hey, when you go into a bank or you get these special offers, hey, you're instantly approved for the credit card. Yes. Don't do that. And why is that again? Meryl?
Okay, so never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever respond to an offer where, especially one where you have to put in a code, an activation code or a redemption code. The second you do that, you end up on a list that's a susceptible borrowers list. And your score actually goes down when you're on this list. At the event, we'll teach you how to remove yourself from this list. But you are put on a list because if you apply for any type of thing that's mailed to you, you show that you have a credit susceptibility. In the intensive we call you're a credit seagull rather than a credit eagle, right? You're picking up scraps, anything they send you. So you end up on that list. And they don't take you seriously when you are building more significant lines of credit, like on the business side and instead of business credit cards and credit lines. So you want to make sure in everything that you're doing, never respond to those. Now, if you want that particular credit instrument, then go into your branch or call up the Chase and say that you want to get a credit card. You like the Chase Sapphire and you want that particular instrument. But when you do it online where you didn't follow a link, you don't put in an activation code and you don't end up on that list and downgrading your fundability.
Now, one of the things too is if you did opt into it, now that list is being sold off to other lists. You're getting bombarded with other seagull bait.
With other seagull bait. Hey, that's a great one. I'm going to use that. Can I use that, my friend?
Give me credit three times and it's all yours. All right, that's true. That's why people wonder like, why am I getting bombarded with these offers now? And I'm like, that's because you opted in Silly To a marketing list that the banks are going to sell out to other banks to make money to send us Leave. One of the things that was so crazy when I went to college now going on 20 years ago and they've outlawed this across most universities. You already know what I'm talking about, don't you?
Oh yeah.
Sign up for a credit card and get a free T shirt that says college across it. You know what I mean?
Yeah.
Get your discover your cheap credit cards here. Unfortunately I mean the university is getting paid dollar for dollar in every app bill. That was a money raising for the but it was very detrimental to a lot of Right, Merrill?
Yep. No credit experience. They actually passed a law that says you have to either prove your personal means or get parental approval for anybody over 18 because you can't get a credit card under 18 on your own until you're 21. You get parental approval or show means.
That's a smart thing. You said something. Don't accept the offers. If you want something then go into the actual brain ply in person or apply on their website without using the opt in codes. Right Meryl?
That is correct. Just go to Chase and look at what they're offering and pick one of those cards. Do not put in a code. Do not follow a link in mail. Do not respond to those things. Guys, don't call that 800 number. That 800 number is not the number that would be on the back of your the customer service number. Oh and by the way, just another little tip. I always call customer service numbers and say oh yes, send me over to sales because that way I'm not coming in on anybody's pitch or any 800 number that I just picked up an offer.
So question for you too here. How often should people call their credit card companies if they've been paying on time to try to see about getting credit increases to help them drop down.
Their usually they won't do it more than every six months. Come to the intensive because we'll talk about Falcon, we'll talk about the 9,000 bank network that's actually monitoring everything you put in your application so they can see if it's fraudulent or otherwise and how to hack that literally that's why we call it fundinghackers.com guys, we hack the funding process both personally and on the business. Once you go into that process guys it is vital that you have a I just based on your question I'm telling them about how to go to the fun to learn how to do.
This but fire away Falcon and Big Brother watching everything.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. So what you want to protect yourself against and what we learn at the intensive is how to create the right kind of profile. Not just your identity, but how your profile is going to work along all four of these areas. We already talked about fundability index, where we measure you and see how well you're doing and where your successes are, as well as kind of where your failures are. But you want to create Falcon is this 9000 bank system that is monitoring how you apply for credit. And they're doing it for legitimate reasons. They're protecting themselves against the billions of dollars in fraud that go on. But the problem is, like we talked about, there's a number of checks that they're going to do and you need to know how to hack those algorithms. That's our whole process is legal, moral and ethical hacking of the bank underwriting systems. There are literally dozens and dozens of dozens of these hacks, just like we're talking about here. How to create this kind of awareness for what you're doing. Like, don't get on those lists, how to get off the list if you're already on it, if you've responded that way, et cetera.
Let's take a little bit different. I don't want people think we're just talking about getting credit cards increase and things like that. Because your ultimate goal is to work with people not only to help them improve their stuff, but become more fundable in the eyes of banks. But ultimately to get lines of credit at low interest rates to help them with whatever their passion is, whether it's real estate investing, of going out and buying and more properties with their own funds, or note investing, being able to have those lines of credit, they can write a check to go fund or to use whatever it is to help them in their existing business out there. That's your ultimate goal, right?
Yes. So we have, there's two divisions. There's personal and business. Right. There's FICO scores for personal and FICO scores and fundability for business. Our end game is most people out there will and subscribe to Credit center. Follow us on credit sense.com on Facebook or Credit Scent. Facebook slash Credit Sense. Because we give all kinds of these little tips and techniques and show you how people are marketing out there saying, yeah, let's get you some business credit lines. When they're actually talking about personal credit cards that you can use for your business. And credit cards are not credit lines. So there's two things that we do in the intensive. We Teach you the difference between a credit card and a credit line and then how to qualify for the credit card and when to use it. Some you want to write a check to, some you want to run a credit card through. But those are flagship products. Is that million dollar funding formula, right? We help borrowers, especially entrepreneurs, real estate investors, note buyers. We help entrepreneurs acquire 200, 300, $500 million in credit lines. We call it the million dollar funding formula. And this funding formula is all of these bank hacks in a very sequential, easy way so that when the lender looks at you, you look spectacular. They want to lend to you. I mean, imagine, go back to the basketball metaphor. If every time you get the ball you shoot and score, are they going to give you the ball more often? Right. So I just learned that Kareem Abdul Jabbar still has the all time highest. That's amazing. Right? But we always give the ball to Kareem Abdul Jabbar because he scored every single time for decades. Right? So you lenders and credit lines, lenders and business credit cards, business credit lines are the same way. They will give you more and more money if you know how to shoot and score every time you do it. And so that's what the million dollar funding formula is designed to do, is to literally show you. And we deliver the million dollar funding formula in the intensive. Because I just want to educate you. Educate, educate, educate.
Mm. And you've got your next class upcoming here. When?
March 30th and 31st. It's the Saturday and the Sunday. It will be remote, it'll be live. So that's Saturday and Sunday, March 30th and 31st. And when you register, you can register for online or in person. Now it's gonna be in Salt Lake City. In person. We have people come in. You'll be in our studio audience because we actually shoot this in our studio. But we have people all the time who fly in and visit with us and take advantage of our personal presence. But you don't need our personal presence. Ask Scott. He didn't fly out and we're friends. He didn't fly out. Everything he got, he got from his experience in our online audience. And I'm telling you, it started 9.
O' clock your time, which is 10 o' clock central. You're up until 5, 6 o' clock at night. You got so much stuff done because. And then on Sunday you wrapped it up a little bit earlier than about four, but you gave an opportunity an hour to go get some lunch, came in it's totally interactive because you used the Zoom technology, the Zoom webinar series like we used to record these. You share these live to field questions back and forth. And you also remember you shared it to your private Facebook group so everybody there can ask questions.
We have a private Funding Hackers club. You don't get to join unless you're. You've gone through the intensive. But Funding Hackers webpage. Facebook page is all about this interaction. And we give more. For everybody who's a member of Funding Hackers. We still give you a. Oh, and by the way, you get a T shirt, one of two T shirts. We have one that's a little less on the point. We have a Funding Hackers T shirt and one of these T shirts for everybody who shares a testimonial that their experience. Right. So it's really interactive. You won't walk out of there. We don't move on and tell every single asked and answered about every piece of technology that we're covering.
And one of the great things too is you provide a very intense manual, has all your slides so people aren't just doing. You aren't just looking at the screen trying to take a massive note. So you've got it outlined so people can take notes on the slides.
Every slide has its own place to take notes and you get the actual worksheets like what to do to create long term fundability, guys.
Then also one of the great things too is you're making people do homework. Literally. Hey, go online, order your credit reports. Order it individually from all three of the credit bureaus so you have those available. And then allowing you to score that up to see where you're at to give you kind of a foundation of starting.
Yeah. Like I said, it's not a pitch. Right. You got to bring the materials that we need to do the analysis to walk through every piece of of your fundability metrics. Right. We have your credit reports directly from the bureau's what you call consumer disclosure files. We have myfico.com, which has 28 FICO scores. Yep. Then you audit your FICO report. Very easy to understand process. So you can see. Then you bring all that information ready to go to the intensive so that you're up and ready. We have actionable intel on what to do. Guys.
It's a rocking weekend out there for everybody. And then.
Yeah, yeah, it's this level of intensity for two days right now.
Exactly. You got another event. If those can't make it the 30th or 31st March, you're usually doing one the following. I think you said the last one's like the last weekend, probably be the.
Last weekend of April. We haven't set the actual date yet, but it will be one of the last two weekends of April. Try and do it the last. Because so many people are going to our web classes on Thursdays and we want to give them an entire month to be able to register and get their homework done and everything before. So it's kind of showing up at the very end of the month to do those last weekend ish of each month.
Good stuff there. Now, one of the great things that you're doing and you share this and I know some people and done well in getting different lines of credit secured where it's a 100 grand or a half a million or there's a whole variety of different things that you're really helping people do. Some amazing things out there. Talk about some of. Maybe you have a surprise story or two you'd like to share about with somebody who maybe started in the Ds and worked their ways up to the A's, because you have a variance of some A's, B, C's and D's.
Right. Principle that you'll learn in this education is we call it the velocity of credit. All right. Which means the more time you spend on your personal profile, the higher the yields are going to be on your business, funding, etc. Right. Because as a hint, 80% of all approvals come up for all business credit. 80% of all approvals come from your personal credit profile. They measure with those 40 characteristics. They measure what are called your performance data. They measure how you treat other people's money. And then they use that decide whether or not you get. It's not all based on your bid. The amount you get may be based on your revenues or lack of revenues if other things come into play on the business side. But 80% of that decision is made on your personal credit. Well, so we had a woman whose name is Teresa. She's note buyer. She's amazing woman, sweetheart. And she was probably a C minus. She had a decent credit profile, but she certainly wasn't fledable. And she spent numerous months working on her personal profile. Because think of it this way. If you have, let's say you have a $10,000 credit card, well then you want to ask for a business line of credit for 50 or 100 grand unsecured stated income. Not going to happen. Right. Because the only thing you can prove that you've managed is $10,000 worth of. So she spent time growing those lines and tightening everything up and literally took the time necessary to optimize her profile. So she goes in to the bank and we helped her find the bank. And she asked for an unsecured stated income loan credit line for her business. It was a consulting firm. And they said, I'm sorry, we don't do unsecured or stated income. And she's like, okay, I thought you did. But like, yeah, not for your type of business then. So they asked for her financials. She had decent financials. So she prepared to put her financials and tax return before she got sent that information in. She got a $500,000 unsecured stated income approval. And she called us up and she was so excited about having gotten it, but she didn't understand why they asked for financials and then didn't want them or didn't need them to make the decision. And I said, it's called automatic underwriting. Just the same thing we've been talking about today. Automatic underwriting is where you pass muster on all 40 of these characteristics. She invested the time, she'd had her C minus on her fundability index and when she went to go approve, she was in the A plus range. And remember, doesn't have anything to no score. Score isn't the issue here. I'll take a 720 score over an 820 score if it's a fundable profile. Be clear about that. But she got approved. She was thrilled and didn't even have to show her taxes or her financials. Even though they asked for it, they approved her without it because she hit all of the metrics perfectly and got a 500,000. We've had people who get $680,000 in a single. And it's a property acquisition credit line specifically for real estate investors. We love that lender, but we love knowing what the lender needed. And we shaped the profile to match it exactly. So if you go through the web class, listen to the web class. We have literally dozens and dozens and dozens of stories just like this of people who started out exactly where you are, can't get the money you want, or you're getting the wrong kind of money, or you're getting seagull money instead of eagle money. And let's change that. Get the education.
Yeah. Get the skills. Get the knowledge. Learn how to implement it. Learn the rules. The real rules.
Yes.
Of everything. Because I think everybody knows or thinks partial rules or they've Heard things. They watch somebody who's not an expert do it.
Yeah, we're not getting it from fico. Everybody's getting, oh, my loan officer told me X. Right. FICO measures your report. I believe fico. I don't believe anybody else. FICO scores your. The quality of your fundability and your profile.
Yeah. One of the great things too, I love is that we work well in hand with our buddy Aaron Young over at Lawful Associates too, and helping out people with their entities. Because, you know, Aaron's always talking about, hey, don't mess up your corporate veil protection. There's things to do that.
Yep.
One of the strongest points, you'll be actually speaking at Aaron's event in san Diego. The 11th, 12th and 13th, the Magnify youy Wealth Summit. We're excited to see you there as well.
Excited to be there. That's gonna be a blast.
You've worked with his clients, you've worked with his employees. Not employees, his business owners. The entrepreneurs he's working with as well. A lot of you worked with a lot of our clients. You're working with us currently on different things. So that's the beauty. I want people to realize here. Everybody is business and personal stuff. It's separate. But you having Merrill and his team, Brad, Cheyenne, Jessica, everybody over there that understand the rule, it's like you've got. You're walking into a situation with like sealed teams, six behind.
Yeah, exactly.
Credit sense walking in with you to help you. It's like kind of going to the. I like going to ikea. When you go into Ikea, you don't have the arrow. Here's how you get through everything. Like the IKEA of credit optimization, credit weaponization, fundability that you're really helping guide, hold people's hands through.
And really all that, like I said, no question goes unanswered. The web class and the intensive itself, we literally answer every possible question about your situation. Nobody goes away. You will know what long term fundability means to you at the end of this. So love to have you guys go to fundinghackers.com and that's where you sign up for the web class. And if you want to go direct, if you think, hey, I'm all in, I want to spend 97 freaking bucks for a two day intensive. That's not a pitch, that's an intensive. Right. It's a fire hose of this kind of tech. Then go straight to epicfundingsecrets.com bootcamp intensive.
I want to echo that. It's not a Sales pitch fest. You've only got Brad and Meryl talking. There's no other speakers on it. It's $97. If at the end of the first day you don't find value, you guarantee it's like, well, if you don't find value the first day, no problem. We'll refund back your 97. No question.
We'll give you your 97 bucks back. I mean $97 and no risk because I've never had anybody ask for their money back. Funny that because it's literally firehose fundability at credit and business fire hose time. But we'd love to see you guys at our web class or the intensive. Make sure that you guys are in the two. Whatever you do, take the tips. We've given so many great tips today. Never go over 38%. Ask for credit limit increases every six months, but only let them do a hard pull once a year. That's the other thing that I wasn't be able to say. Ask for a soft pull. When you go for a credit line increase, they should give you your increase on a soft pull once per year. Just implement the stuff we talked about. If we never see each other again, just do the things we've talked about. Get rid of. Make sure your identity is one version of identity across all three bureaus. If you don't know how to do that, then come to the damn intensive. You'll do it with the rest of us. But make it happen, guys. Become fundable. You have total control over how much money you get from lenders. And I'd like to end on this. Lenders only make money when they lend. They're just looking for a sure thing. You become the sure thing, they will bury you in money. I swear to all that is all that it is holy.
That's the truth. I mean one of the great things we didn't talk about we can get to briefly but was about going on getting new loans and cars. There's a hack, we won't disclose it here but like most people will probably buy one, two, three houses a year but they'll buy a car truck every probably three to five years. The nugget that you shared was.
It was just.
Oh my gosh, it was awesome. It saves literally going to save people. I know some people are already using it.
Yes.
And saving on interest and saving on.
That is worth 10 times the $97. Just the one and we do how many hundreds of hack and this one, how to buy a car. And remember this is back office stuff. Nobody knows this stuff because nobody talk, nobody knows how FICO works, but the dealers know how to charge you more money that you don't have to. Just come to the Dam Intensive.
Exactly. Now you're traveling. Where are you headed to next? Are you home for a while in Salt Lake? Are you headed out?
We're going to. We just came from la from the DME Expo. Oh, and later this afternoon, I'm doing a zoom for homevestors. We're doing one of their homevestor chapters and we're going back to LA for a women's conference. We'll be at the Wren Conference. W R E N. It's a women's real estate investors conference in mid March, so always packed. And I'm going to be on a few podcasts here now that I have this secret sauce. This man is genius. People listen to his podcast. This man is genius. He told me a nugget that just changed my whole capacity to create a presence.
Altering. I would say it's helped me with that stuff. But that's a nugget for a different day. Check out the website creditsense.com or you can go to fundinghackers.com get signed up for the Thursday Night Live webinar. What time do you host that every Wednesday night?
6Pm Mountain, so 5pm Mountain Pacific, Western Pacific, and then 7 and 8 Central and Eastern.
There you go. Perfect. And it's a different nugget each week, or is it the same webinar?
It's basically the same. The questions, like I love the questions, are what Veer it in different directions. It's really interactive in the last third. The two thirds is kind of presenting the history and kind of all the things you learn in the intensive itself.
Perfect. And then of course, you've got the epicfundingsecrets.com bootcamp intensive. Well worth it. Guys and gals out there take Merrill up on his opportunity. It's phenomenal. If you want to start making America great again, make your credit great again. And the best time. MERRITTAWSON. Best time to plant a tree was 30 years ago. And then today, the best time for you to work on your credit, or would have been two years ago. But then today you've been putting this off or delaying it because you think you've got things on your credit, they're gonna haunt you.
Like if you have drugs. We'll work that out. But there's so much more we can work on. Fico. Of those 40 characteristics, eight of them deal with derogatory accounts. 10 go with negative 30 only deal with positive. We can optimize your profile. You can learn what you need to do to optimize your profile even if you have derogatories because there's 30 other metrics that are being measured besides your derogatory accounts. Just check out the web class for free. No investment. If you know what you want to do, go to the intensive. Get educated guys. Find out how you are being held over a barrel and not the good way.
So take action today, everybody, whether it's attending the March 30th and 31st intensive or the one for the end of April. And as always, if you're listening on a replay on any of our podcasts and channels, check out the schedule. Creditsense.com We've got a whole update different schedule if you're listening to this later on, but well worth your time. It's a very, very valuable investment in your current and future credit because let's face it, we're all going to be around for a while. We're going to be using our credit to do a variety of things. Why not learn how to do it right and correct that it helps you versus doing something stupid that penalize you in the long run?
Yeah, get it. And get 500,000 to a million because you can.
I think that's worthy of a cha ching, don't you?
Absolutely, yes. All right, superhero.
