A coach at Pope High School had talented players and a solid strategy but his team still failed. He realized culture was the missing piece. That insight became his career focus: learning to build teams where people actually execute together.
Chapters
I sabotaged my first team at Pope High School, who was more talented than our record would've suggested, because I was not a great coach and leader early on. And I focused on talent and I focused on strategy and realized there was a third area that we were missing. And culture is what allows talent to implement strategy. And so my entire coaching career and what has now followed that career has been my attempt to learn and share with others what it means to be a great leader who builds a great culture so that your people can actually thrive in that environment and continue to grow.
