So I want to thank all the people that have downloaded the podcast episodes, have watched, who streamed in live from Instagram or wherever. Really, really appreciate it and hopefully we've got another good, really good episode for you today. I've got a story that I want to tell you, but as per usual, people will be sending in their questions on Instagram Live. As we get people tuning in, we feed off. We might go in any direction, as per usual, any questions in and around the concept of self belief and fulfillment, whatever's going on in your life, just to make sure that we are tackling those particular issues. And, and really I want to make sure I'm providing you value and the best way I can do that is by making sure I know exactly what it is that you need. So for anyone in the future, on future episodes, if you stream in on Instagram Live on a Wednesday around 6.7pm UK time, we do an Instagram Live where you can ask your questions live. Otherwise, you're tuning in with me on the podcast here. So welcome. And as I said, I'm delighted we got episode 50, episode 50. I mean, it's been a long while coming, but we got there and I really enjoyed it. I really enjoy interacting with everyone. And so as I said, I just wanted to open up this episode by saying a huge thank you to everyone who's tuned in and everyone's helped with it and all the questions that have been sent in and made the podcast what it is at the moment. So, and here's to another great 50 episodes and eventually we'll get to episode 100. So here we go. So I'm gonna, I'm gonna kick off with a, with a story that I heard recently and I think it really, it's a, it's an awesome analogy in terms of what makes a great leader in terms of how to run your business. In terms of how to be a success and all of those things, whatever, you know, you desire in your life, you know, when things are tough and when things are difficult. I think this is a really good story to have in your mind. If you. Those particular moments. If you want to be able to leave a legacy or you want to change people's lives or you want to make a difference, this story is the story and possibly the only story that you need to remember. There was a boy who grew up in poverty. He grew up in poverty. And he's walking down the streets and he wants to know, you know, he's sort of thinking, how am I ever going to do what I want to do? How am I ever going to be successful in life? How am I ever gonna be successful in life? He walks down the street and he sees a sign on a post. And the sign on the post says, if you want to be successful, meet me at the beach at 5am tomorrow. Meet me at the beach at 5am tomorrow. The boy doesn't really have anything else going for him. So he goes to bed early, wakes up early the next day at about 4:30am, 4:30am he gets up early, gets down to the beach, and as he walks over to the beach, he can see another boy there. He walks over to the boy and the boy says, are you here to be successful? And the boy, already at the beach goes, yes, yes, I am. At 5am on the dot, an elderly woman walks over. The elderly woman walks over and she says, are you here to both be successful? And they said, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, we want that. We want that.
She goes, great.
She goes to the first boy, I want you to walk as far down the beach as possible. The two boys look at each other a bit amused. But first boy does what he's told, and he starts walking down the beach and he walks about two miles. He does pretty well. And he's. Bear in mind, he's quite a young boy. He does pretty well. He gets about two miles down the beach, and as he gets to about two miles down the beach, two miles down the beach, he goes, now I'm tired. I don't know. I don't know what we're doing. Why are we even doing this? I'm exhausted. I don't want to do this anymore. Really bored. Don't. I don't understand what this is about. The elderly woman draws a line in the sand in front of him and she goes, what will you do now? The boy is, no, no, no, no, no, no. I'm not about that. No, no. I'm tired. I'm exhausted. You're not explaining yourself at all. You're crazy, old lady. He turns around, walks off and goes home. The old woman goes back to the other boy. She says to the boy, are you ready to start walking? The boy's very confused, but the boy does as he's told. He starts walking, and he manages to walk about a mile down the beach. So not as far as the other boy walks a mile down the beach and collapses on his knees in exhaustion. And he goes, I can't do this. I'm exhausted. I'm tired. I don't want to do this anymore. It doesn't make any sense. Everything hurts, everything's aching. I just. I can't do anymore. The old woman draws a line in the sand in front of him and says, what will you do now? The boy gets up, manages to pull himself up, and he manages to scrape an extra 10 steps before collapsing in exhaustion. Once again. The boy goes, I'm too tired. I can't do this more. I couldn't even walk as far as the other boy. How am I ever going to be successful? She goes, I don't care how far you walked down the beach. I cared that when I drew that line in the sand, that you took footsteps beyond it when you felt tired, when you wanted to give up, when you didn't want to do anymore, when you wanted to go home where everything was hurting, I drew that line in the sand and said, what will you do now? And you took ten more steps. That's what a great leader does. That's what a successful person does. They draw a line in the sand and they leave footprints beyond it. Because it's those footprints that changes the mindset, changes the mentality, builds that resilience, builds that change of perspective that you need to achieve the thing that you want to achieve in your life. And even greater and better than that, once you get to that point, Those footsteps, those 10 footsteps that boy took, those footsteps you take beyond the line in the sand, those are the footsteps others will follow. Because if you go to a place you've never been before, chances are most people haven't been there either. So when things are tough and when things are difficult and it's challenging, I want you to first think, draw a line in the sand and leave footprints beyond it. I want you to leave a footprint on this world. I want you to leave footprints for others to follow. There's a great quote, who, for the life of me can't think of who it was by. I think it's by Harriet Beecher Stowe, who said, don't go where the path may lead, but go where there's no path and leave a trail. And that's what I want you to do, is I want you to leave footprints, but leave footprints when you can't do it anymore. The thing that's really changed my business is that of all the things that I've learned, it's the realization that I was lucky, that I love what I do, so I can spend 8, 10, 12 hours, whatever, I can do it because I love it. And it takes a long time to get to the point where I'm like, I want to stop. And it's that point I had to draw a line in the sand and say, what am I going to do now? Because that's where the growth and the progress is. When I've drawn the line of the sand there. You might get to that point after half an hour of doing something. You might get to the point after an hour, after two hours, maybe you get there after five days. I don't know. Even if it is half an hour, draw the line of the sand and leave footprints beyond it. Take yourself to a place you've never been before. If you want results you've never had before, I think that's crucially important. So if you feel tired, if you feel weak, if you're struggling, then I want you to draw a line in the sand. And as Instagram Live is unfortunately not working and I can't take today's questions, I think actually this is probably a good place to leave because I think that story has maybe had an effect on you. Whatever you've got going on and you're not seeing what you want to see, take yourself to the place where you don't want to do it anymore, where everything does hurt. Draw a line in the sand and leave footprints beyond it. And just as I said I would wrap up, Instagram Live is now indeed working. So after that, really epic, or what I thought was an epic finish to this podcast, I'll see if I can get any questions in along the way. Hello to the people joining in. Hello, hello, Hello. So. So, as per usual, you send in your questions. I've got a question from Adam who said, firstly said, have you. Are you halfway through your podcast? Yes, indeed I am. He's got a question which says, how can I do more? Adam, that's an awesome question that you've just asked because of the story I've just told. It's a shame that you probably have just missed it. I want you to the short version of it is whatever you got to when you get to the point where everything hurts, we feel tired, where you feel weak, imagine you're at the beach and you draw a line in the sand and leave footprints beyond it because those are the footprints others will follow. That's how you grow your business. When people are willing to follow your footprints, draw a line in the sand, leave footprints beyond it. Okay. Oh, and Instagram Live is just gone again. I think it's going to be a problem today. Not a problem. But as I said once again, I really appreciate we got to episode 58 and I really appreciate for everyone who's listening, I hope you can tell that I genuinely care about people. You know, for any business or success I may have or may have in the future, I really do have a caring for human beings and a strong caring for you to get the results that you want. Because I'm sure you've got gifts and talents and abilities and skills you've developed or you maybe will feel like you were born with or whatever. And often that one single ingredient which was the case for most of my life, is just that lack of self belief to actually bring those talents to the forefront. And I want to give you that confidence. So we're at episode 50, but this isn't a celebration. There's a lot more hard work for us to do and a lot more conversations we can have together. So I want you to tune into the next next time. As I said, Instagram Live is usually the place where on a Wednesday, 6 or 7pm UK time, you can tune in so you can ask your questions live on the podcast. But otherwise I really appreciate your time and you can always tune in. There's a podcast episode every week, but here's to another 50 episodes. To another hundred. Maybe one day we'll get to a thousand episodes. But I really appreciate you all and I'll see you on episode 51.
