Mission: Ambition, Be A High Level Performer

Shelly Rood, founder of Mission Ambition, defines high-level performance as purposeful, goal-aligned action, not just showing up. She wakes at 5 AM, runs a 4-hour seminar, and trains with the U.S. Army Reserve. The dare: measure your week by concrete metrics like phone calls made and people touched.

Good morning everyone, I'm Shelley Rood, the founder of Mission Ambition. Welcome to Your Weekly Dare. This is our newsletter that goes out at the start of every week hoping to encourage and inspire the professionals in the area to really just go out there and make the most of the days that lie ahead. Happy Monday! It's Monday. How do you feel? We're about halfway into the workday. And I gotta tell ya, I met some people already today that just cannot slough off the weekend. I don't know what it is. I don't know what they did, but they just can't get over it. You ready for your dare? I dare you to be a high-level performer. This week, I dare you to be a high-level performer.
What does that mean?
That means that I am so tired of people being proud of themselves for doing ordinary things. Think about your Instagram posts. Think about what you're posting on Facebook. Are these just normal everyday things?
Oh, look at this great steak that I ate.
Oh, look at this awesome walk that I went on. Or are these things that are of significance?
Things that are just incredible achievements for you?
That's the level that I want you to be performing at. Why? Because I am so tired of mediocrity. I don't care that you went to the gym today.
I want to know if you did things that are strategically getting you towards your goals.
Great job, you made it to work this morning, but where's your heart?
Where's your fire?
Where's your passion?
What's your strategy? What is it that you're doing with your day?
How many phone calls have you made yet?
How many people have you touched today?
Or are you still operating in a very selfish mode, thinking about the weekend, thinking about how early you had to wake up, and you're just not quite ready to go out there and feed the world? Let me tell you something. You wanna know about my weekend? Friday I did a 4-hour seminar called Seize the Year. Encouraged and inspired bunches of people to go out there and change their day, change their year, change their life.
Saturday spent at training with the United States Army Reserve. Friday, Saturday, Sunday, up at 5 AM or earlier every day.
Why? So I can be ready to take on the challenges and the opportunities that lie ahead of me to maintain my level of high performance every day. So I've been up since 5 this morning, and yesterday, and the day before, and the day before that. So don't tell me there's not enough hours in the day. Show me what you're going to do with them. I'm Shelly Rood. Thank you for joining me. I dare you this week to be a high-level performer.
I am Shelly Rood with Mission Ambition. If you would love for me to come in and spread the message of encouragement to your team, please email me at coach@shellyrood.com.
