Speaker B refuses unsolicited pitches to protect focus on their mission and personal life. They skip conferences but rely on trusted collaborators like the host to stay current in niche areas like women's outdoor programming. Boundaries aren't avoidance, they're strategy.
I can't allow myself to be distracted by that. And when I have those people come along, I'll call them out, say, I don't have time for whatever this is you're trying to work through or use me for. I have lives to focus on and I'm not going to drop that ball. So, you know, later. Good luck.
That's a very strong statement.
Well, I hide a lot, right?
And you got to have your buddies too, right?
I feel like I'm hiding often by not getting out there and doing that. Socialization and the conferences and things that I used to have to do a lot of that. And now I don't, I have great people like you that are great collaborators. And I know that if I need to know the latest trends on what, especially in the Women Battered Strong space, what types of things are, and we've talked about this in the outdoors, you know, what types of things would you like to do? I know I can go to you specifically and directly and have that conversation versus going to 3 women's conferences around the country and having all kinds of people pitch stuff to me that I really don't have time for.
