I'm 40 fucking 2 years old and I could have been living my Shakira dreams my whole life. Most millennials don't even know that they may have curls hiding underneath their hair. So here's the routine. Step 1, you brush your hair. You do not need to relearn how to do this. Step 2, you go in with a volumizing mousse and you want to go in all over, especially at the back of your hair. Step 3 is the hardest part where you're separating your hair in sections, which sounds simple but it's not. And then you're rewetting your hair and using a fancy detangling brush to keep your hair strands separated. And you do this over and over and over again, and quite frankly, it's annoying. Now step 4 is some mousse. I happen to have this one, and you want to hear You hear that gooey sound. Step 5 is this monstrosity. So you don't want to brush your hair with a diffuser, you want to diffuse the air in and dry it from above. And then when you flip, you get some crazy curls, but we never like to tame the bitch. So then you take a curling iron and you define them. Now this takes some learning to do. This little guy did haunt me for the rest of the day. Not fun. And for the grand finale, you flip and you enjoy your Shakira-ness all over again. For context, this is day 2 where I brushed through it, but yesterday I looked more like this.
