A doctor's sister called with a wild story: a patient swallowed whole garlic cloves after a TikTok claimed it clears acne. Spoiler: garlic doesn't clear acne, and it landed this person in the ER with a blockage in their esophagus.

It's PSA time. I just got a cold call from my sister. My sister is an internal medicine doctor at a hospital somewhere else in New York City. A patient came in with a mass of garlic currently stuck in their esophagus because they saw on TikTok that if you ingest whole garlic cloves, you will clear your acne whether you eat it, ingest it, chew it, embalm yourself, rub it, swim in it, dip in it. Garlic is not going to clear your acne. I will link an old video I did below on this subject matter.
