Shereene Idriss explains how to treat post-acne scars when you have eczema. Great question. So you have eczema but you also have post acne scars. Can you get a laser treatment or a peel? Be very careful because the eczema can get flared up when you break your skin barrier. Chemical peels are going to break your skin barrier, but not all lasers are going to break your skin barrier. So then the question is, when you think of the post acne scars, are they red or are they brown? If they are red, definitely you can get a laser like a pulsed dye laser. I hate this new feature on the iOS, but you can get a good laser with a pulse dilator because you're treating the redness without breaking your skin barrier. You can also get an ipl, an intense pulse light or a bbl, not the Brazilian Butt Lift bbl, Broadband light for the face. That can definitely help. But would I go ahead and do a fraxel? Probably not. Now if that post acne scars are brown in discoloration, I would strongly urge you stick to the skincare routine like the major fade line very consistently and even incorporate hydroquinone. If your skin can tolerate it. You have have eczema. You may not tolerate the hydroquinone. Instead just stick to the over the counter.
