Here's the deal with hair transplants. They don't last forever. And the reality is a lot of people think, oh, I had a hair transplant. Well, the reality is this, my friend, it's only going to last 10 years because you're taking hair from the back and putting it on the front where you're losing hair because of hormones. Hormones tend to affect women up here in the middle and affect men more so on the sides as well as the crown of their scalp. But as you age and after you do a hair transplant, the original hairs that were on your scalp are going to get affected and get shed. And yes, you need to maintain those results. If you're going to be spending thousands of dollars on a hair transplant, let's sure as hell maintain them. Topical minoxidil is kind of a non negotiable. Trying PRP is something I would definitely recommend. My husband is living proof that when it works, it works. Even being on oral minoxidil can make a huge difference. And if you are able to be on topical finasteride, I much prefer it to the oral form because libido, no amount of hair is worth it.
