Dermatologist Shereene Idriss explains how the Splendor laser works for hair removal. It combines Alexandrite and Nd:YAG wavelengths to target hair deeper below the melanin layer, which makes it safer for darker skin and reduces burn risk.

Board certified dermatologist here. I was using this laser, which is the Splendor laser. It is a laser hair removal device that combines two different lasers in one, an Alex laser as well as an ndag. Why do you need that? Because laser hair removal is very tricky in darker skin tones. So by having the two different wavelengths of lasers, you can go deeper underneath the skin, bypassing the melanin layer to avoid a burn. Love it.
