How to CUSHION your retinol! Sensitive skin? This is for you #retinol #shorts

This is a secret about retinols that no one wants you to know. I have 12 years of practice, I'm a board certified dermatologist. And for all the sensitive people out there who cannot tolerate retinols, you get flaky, you get red. Here's the one thing you must do before trying a retinol and I'm talking about cushioning your retinol. It's as simple as finding the retinol that you love. And if you are somebody who is sensitive, then using a moisturizer before the retinol, creating a cushion so that this is less aggressive and less potent. But that's okay because you want to be able to use it every single day without getting irritated. Irritated. If you're not sensitive, you could simply just apply the retinol before the moisturizer and you don't need the cushion. But if you are sensitive, put the moisturizer first and the retinol last at night. And to take it a step up, you can even add a serum before the moisturizer to double the impact of that cushion.
