So medically, there is a purpose. Cosmetically, it can your face. If you're blessed with a strong bone structure and you have a wider jawline, you're going to be fine as you get older. But if you have a dainty jawline like me and this woman, your bone structure is not strong enough to hold up your face. So that masseter muscle was giving the illusion of a better jawline. Once you bring that muscle down, the dreaded gel. And that's why when I treat my patients for masseter Botox, I tell them, go get yourself a night guard to change your behavior. And don't be dependent on this, because in the long run, you may jowl if you don't have the right bone structure. Let me know if you guys have any questions below.
