The Internet wants you to believe that you need to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate, hydrate, hydrate your skin. But the reality is, when I look around TikTok, when I look around Instagram, I see a bunch of celebs swimming in an ocean with their hair flying and, like, drops of water everywhere and their lips looking like two little turkey buns about to be perfectly roasted before it hits its dry peak. However, our skin is not that and reality is not that. And who the hell am I? I'm a board certified dermatologist. I just happen to study 12 years of my life dedicating it to skin. In the past, I would say, how many years have I been in practice? Oh, my God. Oh. And too much moisture is too much moisture. And there is such a thing as too much of a good thing. And moisture is not the essence of life. And if you know what movie that's from, kudos to you. Moisture at excess can lead to a fungus among us, and that fungus is probably on your face.
