This is not a pimple. This is a pimple. This is skin cancer. I'm a 40 year old board certified dermatologist and skin cancers can often look like pimples. And that's the scary part. More specifically, this is a basal cell carcinoma, which is the most common type of skin cancer. And they can often appear as these pearly bumps that can look like pimples. But the differentiating factor here is that they are shiny and they have broken little blood vessels throughout. But to make matters more complicated, sometimes they look transparent. Can you spot it here? I kind of pointed. It's this guy over there. Or they can have brown pigments inside of it, making it look like a mole that's just growing on your face. This is why it is so important to get a skin check every single year. Because something that may appear like nothing can actually be something like skin cancer. If you guys want to learn more about different types of skin cancers, it is melanoma awareness month. Melanoma is the deadliest form of skin cancer and I happen to be a board certified dermatologist.
