Dermatologist Shereene Idriss explains combining PRP injections with microneedling under the eyes. PRP strengthens tissue through growth factors like internal Spanx, while microneedling stimulates collagen for texture. She skips Botox there to keep natural facial movement.

So is PRP going to, like, give back crazy volume? The answer is no, it's not. So then why do I do it? And why did I do it under my eyes? I did combine PRP with microneedling, because the microneedling at least will help stimulate some of that collagen superficially. And I injected the PRP underneath because PRP has certain growth factors. And the idea here is that it will help strengthen the tissue underneath the eyes, almost like creating a stronger internal Spanx, because as we get older, we have ligaments underneath our eyes that just get weaker. And it's not necessarily a home run for everyone, but when it works, it does strengthen that tissue, allowing this area to appear firmer over time from within. And the micro needling to help with the texture from outside. Because I also do not like to Botox this area because I think people look stuck in their faces and it changes their overall smile for the most part.
