Sulfur soap for acne. It's all the rage. But is it worth it? Let's dive in. I'm a board certified dermatologist and let me tell you a thing or two about sulfur. Sulfur has been around for years for people with acne, rosacea, even hormonal acne because it has some really cool properties. Number one, it helps to regulate your oil production. So if you're super oily, it's going to regulate that shit for you. Number two, it's a keratolytic so it's going to break down keratin. If you have a lot of blackheads or whiteheads, it helps pop them out. Number three, it has antibacterial properties so going to kill the bacteria on the surface of your skin. And number four, it has anti inflammatory effects so it can help with the redness when it comes to rosacea. But is sulfur soap better than sulfur cream? That is the key question of the hour and it all depends on you and your sensitivities. If you are somebody who has very sensitive skin or very mild acne, a soap is much better than this.
