Dermatologist Shereene Idriss warns that buccal fat removal in young people causes faster aging and sagging skin. The procedure makes sense only for people 50 and older with excess facial fat. Removing it young offers no benefit and risks premature sagging.

If you get rid of your fat over here, you are going to age much faster, and this is going to drop much faster as you get older. If you are 50, 55+, and you have a lot of weight over here and your face is slim, at that point, maybe taking a little bit of fat out or transferring it across your face can make a big difference. But there is nothing preventative or proactive about taking out your buccal fat pads at a younger age. I would rather your skin look tight than your skin look saggy.
