If you hate your scars, don't feel bad. You don't have to love every single inch of your body. And I'm not here to propagate self hate, but I'm a board certified dermatologist and I'm here to remind you that there are certain things that you can do within reason that can help you feel better about yourself, including your scars. Let's first understand different types of scars that we can get. Starting with these guys over here. This is known as a boxcar scar. So it's literally as if it was boxed out out on the surface of your skin. Over here we have a more undulating pattern. It's more of a wave like pattern, it's a rolling scar. And down here as you can see it almost looks like somebody took an ice pick and went down into I don't know where I went into the skin and caused ice pick scars. And last we have scars that can get raised and elevated from your skin, also known as hypertrophic scars.
