A 40 year old board certified dermatologist and here are three areas to use tretinoin other than your face. Number one, tretinoin has been shown to increase hair growth and you can apply a little bit on your front hairline, especially in the areas where you are thinning. Number two, the backs of our hands are usually the biggest signs of aging. They show our age before our faces do. I often apply a regular basic moisturizer first to minimize any sort of irritation and then I go in with my tretinoin at night and apply it to the backs of my hands and my fingers. And number three, an area we often do not think about, our elbows and our knees. So in the same way that I use it on my hands, I will take a little bit before I go to bed at night and apply it to the back of my elbows.
