Attitude of Gratitude (#FIREHOUR S4, E16)

The Firehour S4 Episode 16 Zoom call, hosted by Sean and Crystal, brings together members of the Thrive network‑marketing community to celebrate recent "belief checks" (small commission payouts) and rank advancements. Participants share personal testimonies about financial breakthroughs, the emotional impact of receiving their first checks, and how the business has altered their family dynamics, time freedom, and self‑worth. The hosts repeatedly emphasize gratitude, vulnerability, and the power of sharing stories to inspire others. The conversation also touches on the challenges of balancing full‑time jobs (especially nursing and real‑estate backgrounds) with the side business, the importance of supportive partners, and the community’s culture of empathy and encouragement. The call ends with a call to practice daily gratitude, to share the energy with others, and a preview of the next episode focusing on automation and moving away from trading time for money.
Chapters
I heard everyone's killing it. I heard there's some crazy stories, positive stories, impactful stories. Get your team on, okay? Make sure that if they're not on, they're going to want to be on for this one. Congratulations to everyone who has been crushing it. Who is seeing success for the very first time as well. This is huge. Okay, this is, this is amazing. Everyone that you see, like, who's, you know, achieving goals, achieving their dreams, achieving things that they haven't done before, it's always an example of what's possible. Okay, it's always an example of what's possible. So I want to congratulate you. That's huge. And before we get into the call, because Crystal's coming right now, um, I just want to share like one thing because in this industry, in network marketing, right? This is the industry that you're in. This is a profession. This really is a profession and this is an opportunity that can change people's lives. And I've just, I've seen it for myself. It has changed my life for myself. And like for everyone to just get started with this and just to like fly through and achieve like these different, like these goals, you know, like even getting a paycheck, right? Getting your first paycheck, that right there is huge because most people, most people out there, especially who are not in this company, like they don't, they don't see that.
Okay.
They work so hard. And they sacrifice so much, yet they receive so little. They receive so little. And so people— that's why, like, people say, no wonder why it doesn't work. But it's not because it's just the wrong vehicle. That's it. You know what I mean? So here, let me— yeah, go ahead. Yeah. So congratulations to everyone.
Congratulations to you guys. For those of you who received your belief checks, congratulations. It's a huge deal. It's a really huge deal to be able to receive that belief check because those checks are the checks that you're like, I get to do this, you know what I mean? Like, I get to share something that I'm already taking every single day that I would have shared for free already, and now I get paid to help people. Like, it's very odd to people. And for me, I just think that, you know, most people, they just become content or complacent with their jobs, right? Like, they clock in, they clock out, and they don't really necessarily care for what they're selling, what they're doing, or believe in the company that they're with. So it becomes normal for people to not enjoy what they do for a living, and then, you know, nights and weekends just get totally wasted, or like always fill their schedules with going out and, you know, hanging out with friends. But over here, I just feel like with what we do. Like, even if this is something that you do on the side part-time, which most of us do, which is great, uh, we get to do something that we love for a living and we get paid for it, right? And so yeah, sometimes people look at us and they're like, oh, you're just doing it for, you know, whatever reason, and you're like, no, I actually really enjoy what I do and I would do it for free. Um, people aren't used to seeing other people actually enjoy what they do who they do it with and, you know, what they're actually selling as a product or service. So congratulations to you guys for actually being able to make a living from this. I did want to bring some of you guys on. I know that yesterday was like a high energy day and a lot of you guys were just, you know, crying and shook and in disbelief and it's just It's so amazing being able to like hear that and see that and feel that, right? I've been doing this since the end of 2018 and it never gets old to see someone winning, to see someone like getting those checks or to see people's lives changing. Like, this is why we stick and stay for those reasons. You know, it never gets old just being happy and seeing people around you like truly changing who they are inside and out. Um, but yes, let's see, is Joanna on? Joanna? Well, I see Alexis. I might call you because your camera ready. Um, okay, let me call Alexis first if I can. Is that okay?
Yeah.
Um, just tell me how it felt like to, you know, get your belief check in this, this journey of yours.
You're muted.
I did, I think.
Okay, sorry, I was trying to unmute myself. Good morning. Um, let's see, he said, how did it feel? It was unreal. Um, you know, I honestly didn't even think I can hit a rank advancement like that. Um, I was happy with just a little $30 or $200, whatever it was. So when I opened my email yesterday, I was actually out waiting for someone to get out of an Orangetheory class to give her a sample. And I had my girls in the backseat and I just started crying. Like, I was honestly hurting financially. I get paid once a month and I'm on bonding leave, so I only get a portion of my check. So just knowing it was like, I honestly went to that class on almost empty in my tank. And like, it's real life. I didn't even record it because I'm so ashamed to ask anybody for help. I'm ashamed to ask my fiancé for help because before, a lot of our arguments were about money. And we made a promise to ourselves that money is the root of all evil, and we can't argue about that. So whenever I am struggling, because I get paid on the first of the month and bills come first and groceries, so when I do little things like going out to lunch with people, going to see friends, going to see family, it's really like I look at my bank account. And when I got that email and I seen it, and I was like, I can put gas I can go get gas, I can take my family out to eat, I can get a better, you know. And then calling my mom, because I helped my mom, she's been off of work for other circumstances, helping out our family and my brother. And asking them, did they look at their paycheck? And they seen it and they're like, okay, we can go do things too. So, you know, it was just it was so like my heart was so full just knowing not only did I receive a little bit, my family was able to receive it too. And, you know, I didn't post it on social media because I didn't know how to say it. I didn't know how to express the gratitude I had for anybody who's helped along the journey. Like, it really took a team, like with everyone, you know, Jackie, Angela, Twin, listening to her calls, Auntie Joanna, Auntie Odette, everyone from top to bottom. It was just like, I'm shaking right now because like, I don't show how bad we struggle financially because that's just not me. I, you know, I'm not materialistic. As long as we have a roof, my girls are happy. You know, we're happy. I never looked at money as something that would ever bring us down in life. So this just really enhanced our lifestyle, just to know that I don't have to worry about looking at my bank account or waiting till the first to see when I'm going to pay that credit card off, because I'll pay a card and, you know, spend it. So it really helps., and I'm just so grateful. And while I was giving my sample, she came out and she was like, are you okay? She was like, I want to see your babies, I've never met your babies. I was like, I'm okay, I'm just being a crybaby right now, like, if I can only explain to you. And she was like, well, one day you will. And I was like, yes, I will. And this girl, she loves her sample experience. And the only reason why I went back to give her more samples is because she said, hey, You know, my package doesn't come in till Friday and I need my stuff. So I said, you know what, fine, here's 2 more days. You're loving it, here you go. And I gave her a couple more samples for her family members too at the same time. So it's just, it's been truly life-changing. Like, it's hard to explain the feeling. It's I'm so grateful for the whole journey and everything around it.
That's awesome.
I love it.
No, thank you for sharing. Like, I am so glad, like everything you said literally came from the heart and it's like, you know, it's like this is why we keep doing what we do, you know, like regardless if we're getting rank advancement or regardless if we're getting all these, you know, things, it's like This is why we all stick and stay, you know, like I've been doing this since the end of 2018. He started doing this with me in like 2020, like out of nowhere. So I was like, hey, come on real quick. And so it's like, thank you so much for sharing your story because it's like, this is why we do what we do. Like, we absolutely love seeing people win in life. And like when people are like struggling, like, I think it hurts us because we've been there before. We've struggled before. There's times we still struggle, you know? And so like hearing your story Like, it just feels so good and I'm so grateful for you guys. And like, this opportunity is something that people need. Like, they, they don't know that they need it and like, they have no idea. But it's like, this is why we all cry. Like, we're so genuinely happy for each other, you know? And so, you know, I just want to share with you guys, like, whether you got one of those Believe Checks or hit a rank advancement or not, like, it doesn't matter. Like, what matters is like, the more you think about others, the more you help others, the more you're just like, who can I help? Like, someone needs this. Like, you will get yours in some way, shape, or form, whether it's monetary or whether it's like karma. It's like merit, you know what I mean? Like, you do good things and you put good things out in the world and like, like we truly believe, like it'll all come back to you, right? In a different shape or form. It doesn't matter. So I'm so happy for you, Alexis. Thank you so much for being so honest with your story. It's so empowering to hear that. I do want to bring a couple of the other girls on. Like, I hope you guys are ready, but ready or not. So I know like Joanna and Abby, you guys have like such amazing stories and I know that this really changed your guys's like, you know, perspective, right? And it helped you guys a lot. So I don't know who's ready first.
Maybe click the reaction, raise your hand.
Yeah.
But Alexis, congratulations. And thank you. Thank you so much for sharing openly, honestly, courageously. It takes, it takes courage and trust as well to be able to share your story to the public. Right. So congratulations again. And that's huge. Okay. I'm telling you right now, like, you changed someone's life. You change someone's life. Someone who is going to hear your story, they're going to be impacted by your courage. They're going to be impacted by how you decide to share. And so it's just— that's amazing. So thank you.
Congratulations.
Congratulations. Just the beginning. Just the beginning. All right, Joanna, I just— I unmuted you. Welcome.
Hi.
Hello. Good morning, you guys. Oh, I love your robe. Okay, so I'm gonna start off first. Like, Alexis, oh my gosh, like, I've never really heard her story like that, and I feel it. And the thing is, you quoted that caught my attention when you said that you and Nate said that the love of money is the root of all evil. I know that phrase. That's not the phrase. I'm a Christian woman, and that is a biblical verse. And the verse is— sorry guys, I'm just gonna get kind of Christian on you guys really quick. But the verse is 1 Timothy 6:10, and for the love of money is the root of all evil, which will some covet after they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. So basically, that's the verse. The love of money is the root of all evil. And the craziest thing is I heard this verse when I was in real estate when I was 20 years old. Because that's what they kept saying. The— for the love of money is the root of all evil. They're training us, don't be greedy, right? So it's not the love of— it's not the money is root of all evil. It's not evil. You need money to survive, just like what Verge said in the chat. What did she say? Sorry, I'm kind of steering off you guys, but she— but I just wanted to clarify this so that you know, Alexis, you don't feel ashamed of what's going on, like financially. You need help. That's what Nate is there for. He's your partner. He's going to be your partner for life. That's your fiancé. But, but Verge said money amplifies who you are and is a source of freedom and ability to help yourself and others, which is so true. So, you know, I hate that you feel that way, that you're struggling financially, because I've been there. Like, here I am now, I'm gonna start crying. But you know, that's why yesterday when I got my belief check— hold on, I'm trying to catch my voice right now— when I got my belief check, it just— I reminisced and I reflected back to all the struggles I had from the very beginning. And you know, for those who know me, I've been working my ass off since I was 18 years old, since I became a mom at 18, like right out of high school. I was pregnant. I found out I was pregnant senior year, and the last semester I was on independent study because I was not— I was ashamed to go to school with a big-ass belly and being around my friends. So the ones who knew me close saw me pregnant. But when we graduated, I had given birth to Marky. He was a month old when I graduated and walked that stage in high school. And that was the promise that I made my parents was, you know, to graduate high school at least and eventually to become a nurse. But you guys, you know, you guys saw my story. It took me forever to become a registered nurse with my bachelor's degree. That was my lifelong dream. And I never thought anything else would be possible. I really didn't, because I've tried network marketing in the past and it just failed and it just didn't work for me. There's just so many disconnects. I tried real estate. Real estate was great. I loved real estate in 2006, but the bubble bursted and I still have trauma from that. It was also a network marketing company, but it's funny because I messaged Crystal and I resonated with her a lot in Palooza because her work ethic was very similar to mine. We both have a real estate and mortgage background and we were just talking about that at Palooza. And I told her yesterday, I was like, wow, you know, I hit 40K rank, which was great. And then 80K rank with this belief check, I was like, whoa, this is when it blew my mind because 40K rank check, like, as a nurse, you can make that easily. I made checks like that in the past, like, you know, doing real estate and mortgage. There's a lot of money there. And back then too, like, $20 grand checks selling one house. You do a mortgage on top of that, you can stack it. You can easily make like $30 to $40 grand off of one client, literally. But yesterday's check, I was just blown away. How did these vitamins allow me to make this much money? And I've, I just started thinking back to all the struggles because right before Thrive, a year before Thrive, I was a new grad nurse. I was training in the ER and I drove all the way to San Jose, which is like 2 hours away from me, almost round trip, working 10 to 13 hours, 13 10 to 13 days straight, 12 to 16 hour days. I was juggling two other jobs, and I was working in Sacramento also. I was working at Walnut Creek, just never ever home. And I literally burnt myself out in my first two years of nursing. And I'm like, what the hell, is this how it's gonna be forever? You know, just to make the money that I wanted to make as a nurse. So when Thrive came last year, I was like, I didn't believe it. I was skeptical. I was very, very skeptical. And until recently, when I really intentionally worked the business and saw the potential, talking to Ang, asking the questions that I thought I wasn't allowed to ask, I asked. I was like, Ang, can you really make six figures working this business? And she laughed at me and said, yes, I'll tell you how much I make. She told me how much she made. I was like, okay, show me how.
She showed me.
I mean, you know, you gotta ask in this business. It's what I learned. There's no right or wrong answer. Just if it's in the— if it pops up, ask. Just ask. And yeah, working as an ER nurse— I see Tiffany in the comment It's hard. And I have been able to drop down to one job as a nurse, only working 24 hours a week and working Thrive on the side. And, you know, the— with Ryan and I, we— it has to make sense financially, calculated risk. So when I told him how much I was starting to make with Thrive He was like, well then, do you need to work your other job? I was like, not really. And he was like, well then, you know, do what you gotta do. He's always been very supportive in the back end. And now I have more time. You see that we are traveling a lot, we have time with the kids more. And that's what my thing is, like, I love my time freedom. I didn't graduate as a nurse in my 20s. I was damn near my, my mid 30s. I'm already 39 years old, and I'm like, I can't be working full-time like this and not having time for my family and kids and traveling when we're old and gray. I can't. It's like, this is it. This is it for me. Like, this is lifelong. And yeah, this is why I still cry. We have two incomes in the family, but Ryan and I, we keep our keep our, our fun money separate and we keep our important money together. But my fun money, I'm too expensive for my own good as well, so I had to, I had to do this. I need different streams of income, and I don't want Ryan to be like, oh my gosh, what did you spend? I'm like, don't worry about it, we got the bills paid for, don't worry about it. So yeah. I'm so thankful for Thrive. I'm so thankful for all of you. And Crystal, Sean, Jackie, Twin, like all our sidelines, everyone is so supportive. And Ruby, Goody, Abby, Karina, Alexis, like Odette, like all of you guys, Sarah, everyone. Like my goal now is to just get everyone to this level because once you feel it, I mean, 12K checks are freaking amazing too. Anything, any small amount, because it's like, wow, this business really works. But my belief check was last— was yesterday. Yeah, I'm a bougie-ass bitch. And yesterday's belief check was the one.
I love that. I love that for you. I love how independent you are. And yeah, you know, over at Thrive or Lose It, we're talking about real estate, we're talking about mortgage. I mean, You know how stressful it is. Like, if you guys come from like a real estate and mortgage background, like, it's tough. Like, you have to know your stuff in order to really succeed and be good at what you do. And I love it. It's fast-paced. There's a lot of money to be made, you know, like I owned a direct lending company before and we were doing, you know, 7 figures a year and funding, you know, hundreds of millions of dollars in loans over my whole career. Right. And so when I started this business as well, I was just like, oh my goodness, like, you can pretty much make that much, you know, you can make a good amount and it's not stressful. Like, it's really fun and you feel like you have so much purpose in what you're doing, you know. And yeah, like, helping people with their homes and like financing them, like, that's great too. Like, I, I loved that too. Uh, the stress levels though were extremely high. Um, but congratulations to you. Like, and I love how you just naturally love help people. Like, you're a nurse, right? And what I've noticed is that, um, nurses do really well in this business. They naturally care about people, and, you know, they are always helping people. And, and you're helping people in their most vulnerable moments, right? So having, like, helping someone get healthier and lose some weight and, like, with their gut health and with their energy, or even making, like, what Alexis said, like, she was just like, I just needed $30, I just wanted to make a little bit for grocery, groceries and for gas and to be able to like pay off my credit card. Like those little things are the ones that matter the most, you know, like creating an impact like that. It just, it's, it's life-changing. Like it's priceless. Like how can you put a price on knowing that you helped someone fill their tank or to get groceries for their family? Like those things are like, that's where it's at, right? So congratulations to you, Joanna. I'm so happy for you and your family. Like I get you, we're, we're close to the same age and I couldn't imagine life, um, without my kids. Like, I couldn't imagine, you know, commuting as many hours as you're commuting, 2 to 4 hours a day, and then, you know, not seeing— hardly seeing them, but knowing that everything you do is for them. But at the same time, it's like, where's the time? Where's the balance? You know what I mean? So, um, I'm so happy for you and your team, and, um, keep going. You, you know, you have something really special. You're in that momentum phase right now. Keep your foot on the gas pedal because It's much harder to start over again than it is to just like keep going, like how Ange did, right?
Um, you're crushing it. Keep on, just keep on doing what you're doing. Congratulations, Angela. Go ahead.
Yeah, I really want to add, because you guys, um, I've been in this business for 5 years and I still cry. What Crystal said, it really is a beautiful thing to have this feeling, to be fulfilled and watch people flourish, because we have solutions for people. We provide and give people solutions and just listening to your stories. This is the culture that we wanted to cultivate. I want to say this. First of all, I want to thank Ruby and my sister because they are the heart of the community. Without these people, there is no glue. I will tell you guys this. I'm so really proud of our team. I know I come like a crybaby, but I'm gonna shout out this team because a lot of you guys don't know. Joe— and people will assume because they think that because I mentor Joanna so closely is that I'm placing her legs. No, you guys, she did this all on her own. And I will tell you, your checks are huge like mine's when you are working your business. I am somebody that is built also, right? So when you build something And when it's felt, when it's so meaningful, when you do it for the right reason and great, if you have it, say, be so thankful. But when somebody that is building and, you know, she's doing all these things and it's, it's possible for everyone. She's just so willing, you guys. And she asks us all the questions. And one thing that I've learned in life, right, is that we must ask. We have to ask for help. And this is what cultivates our team. We're all here for you guys, right? But it does take And I teach people this too. And I talk about Joanna and I tell people this every day with Abby and all of this. You must come from a good place. You must help people and you really not need to expect things, right? And I will tell you, I have challenged Abby, Joanna, and the people that I know. Her checks are huge because I'd be going in like, hey, you can do that. You can do those customer acquisitions. Even Alexis, I give her an ultimatum like, are you in? Are you out? Even last minute, you guys. You need somebody that challenges you. You need somebody that is going to tell you the truth, right? You need somebody that is going to help and support you. And that is what you guys all need for each other, in hopes that— I always say this— please do this from your heart. And when it aligns with your intuition and your soul, sky's the fucking limit, you guys. And you know, I'm really proud of our team. Crystal too, she Like, I'm gonna say this all the time. Krystal and Chun has been my family, okay? And they are the reason why I saw a different perspective. It wasn't because Krystal had a title, it was because of who she was. You guys, the one thing I would say all of you guys would have here, your story is so important. And you know, I cried watching Ruby's like stories and all you guys having that courage to show your checks. I see that. I see that. You know, it means you guys see that and you want growth. It's so courageous, you know, and I'm so proud of the team and of who you are. And it's never about the ranks, you guys. It is about the formula that you can take this and it is your becoming, right? Do things for the right reasons. Believe in everybody that you guys lead and continue to do the right thing. That is really like the foundation. It starts with you. Okay, you guys, I'm really so happy for you guys. I just want to say that it takes a lot of hard work and ethics and heart, right? I'm very heart-centered and very vulnerable, and that's okay. This is what makes you guys different. Also, you guys, it looked like it was overnight, but it took a lot of work. I will say that in and out, single You know, like I say this, lead everybody differently because everybody has a different definition of success. It took 6, 7 months of continue events, personal, you know, building people, going on calls, you guys, so many things. I even said it on yesterday's stories, don't ever compare yourself, but you can start today, right? So I just want to say, you guys are amazing. Ruby, Goody, Abby, Alexis, Odette, all the whole entire team, Tifa, all of them. You guys, Jen, you guys, there's so many people on that team. Not only just their team, you guys, it is Alex's team growing, Hannah's team, Delaney's team. You guys fucking go, all of you guys. I'm always in your corner rooting for you guys. You have what it takes, don't matter if you're new or veteran, you guys. You know what it is? People forgot what this opportunity has done for them. Hold on to that gratitude, y'all. I've never forgotten why I'm doing this, okay? I cry every fucking time because of stories like this, you guys. These stories, why I cried, because I stay inspired. I stay in the trenches. I cry because I deserve this team, because I was there when it was the bottom. That's relationship building. I'm not there when it's good, I'm there when it's bad too. You guys, that's what it takes. Don't come in and expect your team to do things for you when you're not there for them. It's the truth, right? So you guys matter here. So I just— I'm so passionate. I want to say thank you to all of you guys, and you guys are amazing. Keep going. I just wanted to share my love with you guys and my heart, because this community wouldn't be where it is without our leaders either.
I love it. Thank you so much. Like, you know, you cry all the time. We cry all the time. Like, I might not show it that much because I'm always like tough exterior, but like when people get to know me, they're like, oh wow, you're very like— you cry a lot. And I'm like, yeah, I do. But you know what's funny is that like, I never cried so much until I started this business. Like, I never cried that much. Like, I was always just very like— I would hold everything in. But in this business, it's like the vulnerability is what you show to people. Like, let me show you my heart. This is my heart. This is my heart on my sleeve. I care about these people. I care about this business. I care about what we're doing. We're really creating something beautiful and we're seeing people grow and evolve and it's like, it's priceless. And so I'm sure that goes for a lot of you guys too. Like, you don't cry as much until you get into this business and you, and you start to see like the impact and the changes. And the friendships, right? Like, we're friends like family because it's like we've been in this relationship for so long and we're always rooting for each other regardless if we're talking to each other, to everybody, like every day or not. It's like we're genuinely rooting for everyone to, like, you know, fulfill their purpose in life and to really feel good, you know? So thank you so much for sharing. But yeah, Goody, can we call on you? I guess.
What's up?
Good morning, guys.
Happy Wednesday. Talk to us. Talk to us about like, I mean, you've been here for years now, so like to see your team just grow and evolve and just crush it. Like, how are you feeling? Like, how are you feeling? Like, what do you want to say?
Like, I feel very grateful. Um, I always feel grateful. I feel like, um, fulfilled for the team. I'm very proud of you guys all. I always am, right? Like small, little, big, whatever. But this is very life-changing for them. Um, for me, helping others, especially my team, always makes me fulfilled. So it makes me happy. So seeing them like grow and evolve and helping themselves and their families and people around them fills me up. So that always makes me happy. So if you're asking me how I'm feeling, that's exactly how I'm feeling. I am also like, I'm emotional if you know me, but I don't really show it. I'm more like, I'll do it. I'm an action doer. Like, oh, you need help with that?
Okay, I'll go help you.
You know, like, I'll do those. That's how I show my love. But I am very proud of everybody. I always try to say it as much as I can because I don't speak much, but when I do, it does say a lot, or I do a lot. So I am very proud of you all, everyone, everyone sidelines. And thank you, Crystal and Sean, for showing up for us always, every Wednesday, but Not just that, you came out to our Sarah's Thrive event and just to show some love. And that is— I'm very appreciative of that because not a lot of people take the time and you really do, especially every Wednesday you dedicate your time. And time is precious. I mean, I'm very like, I'm very short on time. If you know me, if I get like 10 minutes, I'll squeeze something in, you know? So I know time is precious and Thank you for taking the time for doing this and, you know, showing us a lot of love and supporting us in any way and any time you can.
Thank you, Giddy. And what I love about you is you're always so positive, right? Like you hold it together and you're very like unemotional. But like, I could always feel and see the love within you. And I know that you're always there for people. Like your love language is like acts of service. Like you're just always there doing whatever you can, whether people see it or not. Like I see it. So thank you so much for like sticking and staying and like, you know, helping your team evolve and grow. Like without you, I know like it would be very different, right? And always says like you're the love, you're the community, you and Ruby, right? And Ruby joined you and she's your best friend, right? And so how special is that? Because if you guys are in this business long enough, you know, it's not always the people that are closest to you that you think would be your biggest supporters and it's it's nothing personal. It's just you're becoming this new person doing this new thing, and they're just like, well, what is this? Like, I'm unsure of who you are, right? Like, the change within you can be so rapid that people are unsure of who you are, right? And so it's so nice that she trusted you and she just was like, let's do this. Um, but I do also want to pull Ruby on because, um, I love seeing you. I love seeing you evolve and sharing your story. And, you know, like, you're— you wear your heart on your sleeves. So, um, if you could come on and say a few things, how are you feeling?
And like, thank you for sharing, Goody.
Thank you for coming on.
I was already crying. I think like, um, hold on, you already know how I am. I think I'm just so grateful for everything, um, especially the girls know what I've been going through, um, just recently with my life, um, that's the reason why I stay, um, You got this. I think, you know, I mean, I guess like the reason I'm just grateful for everybody, you know, Thrive is something that is just a really big part of my life and anything that takes away from my happiness, like I I push it to the side because for a long time I was always in a dark space. So to be around my team, our team, all of you guys, I think that that's what keeps me going. I've always been the type to just like, just love thrive.
Just share it with whoever needed it.
But Goody shared it with me and she knew I needed it. And I knew Joanna needed it, so it just happened. I still can't believe that it's happening like this. And yesterday when I told Joanna this, I never like shit like talking on— I talk on my stories. Yes. But yesterday I felt so good with all the girls and even myself. I never— it was never about like me, you know? But like when, when I saw the check and when I saw it and I talked to the girls, I was like, damn, like it's, it's— this is where it's at. Not even the money, but like the emotions that we have, like the connection that we have. It's, it's what makes me happy. And like, I'm just grateful for everybody. I can't say I am. I love you guys.
Oh, everyone loves you too. If you check the chats, everyone's like, we love you, Ruby. We love you, Ruby. Like, that's all you see. But I am so grateful for you. I'm so grateful to have also been able to be at least some part of your journey. I know it hasn't always been easy for you, but you do what you do. You continue to show up for yourself and for your team and for the community. And so I'm so happy for you, and I'm so happy for like everything, like all the blessings that are like coming your way, you know what I mean? Like you put your heart out there, and, um, I know you're going through a tough time, you know. Um, we don't always show what we're going through, but you know, you're always kind and compassionate. And you know, I got to hear some of everybody else's story, and it's like It's truly amazing how everyone comes together and they're just very vulnerable. They wear their heart on their sleeves. And I think that's what helps this community stay so strong is because our hearts are on our sleeve and we just want to help people and we want to share our story and we want to share, you know, our pain points because you're safe here. You can share the things that you're going through, the things that, you know, you're that you came from, and we're all just like, oh my goodness, like, I'm here to support you. I'm here to cheer you on. And so it's a really beautiful community that, you know, we have here, and it wouldn't be the same without each and every single one of you. But yeah, Ruby, thank you so much for sharing. I'm so happy for you, and I'm so proud of you. Like, I know you're going through a tough time, and we're all going to get through it together, you know, like, In the very beginning, you know, Jackie and I happened to have been going through tough times too, right? Like, it's not easy just going through life and showing up. So congratulations going through life and showing up. Thank you. I do also want to bring up Abby. Abby, if you're on here, if you're ready or you're not, I don't know if you're working right now or if you can even pop on, um, but I do want you to come on and share a bit about your story and, you know, everything and anything that you're feeling. Um, I don't know if she's on. Do you know if she's, uh—
Hi guys, can you hear me?
Yes, we can hear you. Do you have a few minutes to share?
Yeah, yes, I just— for once I'm not late to work, so I have I have a few minutes. I'm going to try not to cry because I always cry. Geez, my thoughts take over me and I can't even get the words out right. But anyways, good morning, everybody. I just am so thankful. Like Joanna said, yesterday was her belief check. And me seeing that check was like my belief check too. Like just seeing Uh, you know, and it's not about the money. Her and I both came into this, um, just wanting to feel better, you know. And we're both like strong, independent, busy moms, but we know we carry a lot, and we know we need to stay healthy for our family because once we go down, everybody goes down. So, you know, it's just crazy to me that coming into this, um, something so special is like health and wellness is like, um, blessing our families, you know. And, um, when I became an— I was— I've been a registered nurse working my ass full-time since 2007, okay. And like shortly after that, when my son Junior was born in '09, and he was born with a chronic illness, like my husband and I, we had no choice but it had to be where, okay, this is how it's gonna go. I have to be the only income. I work at Stanford, I have the benefits, okay, babe? Like, he had goals, he had, he had things he wanted to accomplish, but we had no choice but he had to stay home with Junior. Junior was always getting sick. We were always getting called in to pick him up from school. We wouldn't trust anybody to take care of him. He's immunocompromised up to this day. And you know, you guys, like, um, I post like how, how, um, happy I am that he's healthy, you know, like right now. But the truth is, and I tell Ruby this all the time, like, why the fuck can't I just sit down? Like, why do I always have to just— like, it's in me to just keep going. I have to be doing something, you know. I was like, Ruby, help me. Like, what is it? I know I love Thrive, but like, why I just can't sit my ass down and just stop. And I think it's because, you guys, I'm gonna share like my biggest fear. Like, health is wealth, right? But like, dude, anything can happen tomorrow, you know what I mean? With my son, he's transplanted, but my fear in my head is, holy shit, is he gonna need another one? What happens if we don't get a donor? You know, or like, you know, um, you know how my mom passed away from cancer? Like, I worry about that too. I'm like, if my husband goes down, if I go down, we don't have help. Anything can happen tomorrow. I need to be 10 steps ahead, you know? So I feel like— I told Ruby this— like, I just always feel like I'm running. I'm like, I need to keep going because that, that just drives me. I'm just like— and this business, everything just makes sense. It lines up. I'm a nurse. I love helping people. Um, I love feeling— I love seeing everybody feel good, you know what I mean? Anything could happen tomorrow. And like, yeah, so working full-time since 2007, taking care of my dad, no option but— Fabe, my husband, had to— has to stay home. And yes, he helps, you know what I mean? Like, any chance he gets any extra days, any days that I'm off, he tries to help with little side jobs here and there, you know what I mean? But like, we have no choice. And like, so thank you so much, Joanna, for shouting out my story. But I was telling Joe— I was telling Ruby this, like, when my husband hears that story, like, it freaking kills his manhood, you know what I mean? It ain't easy for someone to be like, Abby is the only income, Abby is the, the the, um, one that has to hold the family together. She's the only one working. Like, he's proud of me, but honestly, he kind of cringes because he's like, oh fuck, like, oh my God, I don't want people to think like I'm some bum dad on the side not doing anything. And I was like, babe, don't say that. I was like, you have my utmost respect for doing what you do every single fucking day, um, every day taking care of these damn kids when I'm working. You know what I mean? So like, I was like, never be ashamed of that. You show up every freaking day, you know? And if it wasn't for like our teamwork, I cannot flourish like he does, like I do, you know, like, or try, try to do every single day, you know? So like, and, and this story has never changed. Like I've always, everyone known my story with my kids, my mom, like all the bullshit I went through in life, like You know, I'm like PTSD, like, oh my God, what's next? What's next? Am I gonna get cancer tomorrow? Like, I have PTSD, you know. But the story's always been the same. I've always— health has always been such a big deal to me, you know. But the difference is this business, and I talk about this with Joanna all the time. Like, this story's there, the why's always been there, you know. Like, my drive has always been there, but the difference is Everybody that we're learning from— and Goody, Ruby, Your Heart, you know, you, Sean, Crystal, Jackie, Twin— everybody freaking inspires me every single day. That's why when I like bring people into this business, I'm like, you guys, please plug in. That is where the magic is, you know? Because it's easy, it's easy to be like comparing yourself. It's easy to, to be like, oh my God, I want to make X amount of money, I need this money, you know? But like when I turn it on at 6 in the morning or stay close to the fire and see everybody's posts and just seeing these life-changing results, that's the difference. That's the difference. It's so crazy that fast forward a year, like all this growth and so many lives changing and just being surrounded by all this positivity. That is the difference. It's like, it's so crazy to me because it's like now my mindset is shifted. Like I don't have time for like negativity. I don't have time for anybody trying to bring me down or like bring negative thoughts or tell me that this is not it, you know. So I'm just like so thankful, I'm so grateful for like the customers, the freaking— my unicorn mermaid love Tiffany, like you guys inspire me so freaking much. And like Karina, sister, like I love you. I know you're next. You know, like I'm just so thankful and I know I'm not good with words. That's what I have Tiff for. But like, I just, I'm so thankful. Like this came at the perfect time and I'm not done. Like that check yesterday was amazing, but I'm like, okay, tomorrow, get back to work. Let's do this.
Thank you so much for sharing your story. I know there's so many more layers to your story. I think you did a really great job job of like bringing us through it. But I'm, I'm so proud of you, and I'm so grateful to have met you during Thrivepalooza and to have been able to have some one-on-one time with you. You're just, you're such a strong person, and you know, the things that you have gone through, like, it could make someone just really bitter in life and less optimistic. But what I love about you is like all the struggles that you've had and that you've grown through you choose to be optimistic, you choose to smile, and you choose to stay positive and to help people with your story and to continue to share your story. And I think that, you know, like everyone needs more of that. Everyone needs to see the struggles that people go through, yet they still stand, you know, they still stand and they're like, I went through that, but I'm good. Like, I'm still going through that, but I'm going to stay optimistic because You know, living with optimism is so much better than living, you know, in fear or living without, you know, like all the negativity, right? And so I'm so proud of you. Like, there's so much to your story and I'm so proud of your team. You know, I've met everyone or I've at least, you know, talked to them in the background. Tifa, right? She's your niece. And I've seen Odette around and you guys are just absolutely crushing it. There is just so much heart in this team. And when you guys come from the heart and you work from your heart, like, things just, you know, things just explode, right? Like, there's actually like this energy around your heart and it just brings in miracles and brings in blessings. And that's when you know, like, you've aligned, right, um, with your soul's purpose of like being able to do this for your family. And shout out to your man, you know, it's not easy being a stay-at-home dad. Like, You know, sometimes I'm like, send me to work, right? Like, it's a 24/7 job. There's no sick days, there's no off days. So shout out to him because he's doing something that is, is not really recognized, you know, nowadays. It's like, okay, if you're not getting a paycheck, like, what are you? But it's not true. There's so many dads out there that are doing what they can do to help their children at the same time. And it's not easy being at home and taking care of the kids in the home, you know. Like I always say, like, it's much easier going to work. Like, send me to work, you know. Um, so I'm happy for you. I'm happy for your family. I'm so glad that you guys are doing this together because it really takes a very strong support system at home, you know. And in this business, if you're not supported at home by the person you care and love the most, like, it makes it really hard. It's not impossible, but it does make it difficult. So I'm so glad that you have that partner with you, supporting you, you know, and doing what he does. Um, he is very, he is very noticed. Um, and yes, so, oh, this morning—
and he is a man, he is a man.
Yes, he is, he is. It's, it's not easy doing what he does, you know. You have to have, um, a lot of heart to be able to just step to the side and be like, I'm going to take care of my family, you know.
And yeah, like, that's like the, like, the values, because I know that, like, character. Yeah, you mentioned that, you know, when he's, when he's not like being in the alpha position in terms of like, you know, fulfilling like what society thinks that a man should be doing, like, he is a man. He is taking care of the family. He is taking care of you. He is helping out whenever he can. Like, it's just, that is what a real man does. Okay, that is what a real man does. He does all that he can to provide for his family, for his loved ones. So, you know, there's— I know that there's a huge narrative out there where, especially on social media, that a man has to be like a multi-millionaire, or a man has to be this and that. But is that true? Like, what is really true, right? What is true to you? So you, you think of the stories and you create the stories that's in your head, and that's the story that you live, right? And I like how Gina said, a man, a real man takes care of his family. Like, so he is a man. From one man to him, you are a man, you know? So thank you for everything that you do, and it's, it's recognized and it's seen. Um, and your wife literally just said that, so, to everyone here. So that's fire, that's fire, that's huge.
Ah, it's almost 7, but I feel like it's not done yet. Does anyone else want to hop on and kind of talk about their experience, whether it was their belief check, their, you know, what they've been through in the last few months? Gratitude, anything.
I think it's good, babe. Yeah, that's like everything right there. Like, this is, you know, like one thing that I want to acknowledge everyone for is for being open, right? For being open, for sharing your truth, like sharing your voice, because that's, that's huge. Like, I truly believe that through communication, through your message, and through your words, that's what truly moves and impacts people. And it's because of your heart. You wouldn't have said these words if it wasn't from your heart. And to be vulnerable and to be open and to share, you know, your struggles even, right? Turning your pain to power. Yeah, like all these different journeys, these experiences of life, like that right there is the magic. That is the special, like, sauce, that secret sauce right there, you know, that really changes someone's life. And so this is not going to be just seen from everyone here on the Zoom call, okay? I'm going to be editing this as fast as possible. Posting it up for the world to see. And again, you know, if someone, uh, who hasn't seen this, like, who needs this, who may need this, if you know their story, right? If you know that they're in pain, like, these are the stories that change that life. These are the stories that transition them into what is possible. These are the stories that plant those seeds where it's like, hey, you know, maybe not now, but maybe one day, right? You keep that future, that possibility open for them. You're planting those seeds of possibility, those seeds of belief, those seeds of open your dream machine, turn that back on. Like, anything that you imagine is possible, and it is, and as long as you decide that it's for you, right? Jackie always says, first to, first to believe, first to receive, right? It's like that. Everyone has that opportunity if you want it. It's just, what do you believe? So this is just fire. Like, it these are the things that, that matter. Okay, the— and yeah, I was gonna say this too, but like, what are we, what are we doing right now? Like, just sharing stories. But is that considered work? The answer is yes. Yeah, this is part of your work.
Yeah.
All right, this is part of the fun job. This is part of thriving. And so that's the beauty of it. It doesn't have to be all serious or however you want it. It could be whatever you want, right? You are all entrepreneurs. You are all all visionaries. You are all leaders. And by sharing just your message, your story, your experiences, your, your, the pain, the struggles, the triumphs, the success, all of it, it's all part of your life's work. Yes, 100%. So shout out to you all. Thank you for sharing. Thank you for being open, sharing your heart, and not just like not stopping here, but continuing, right? Continuing. There's a lot of comments.
Yes. And unlike what, what Ruby said, Ruby, Ruby said, you know, pain builds walls and healing builds doors. I love that. Is that a saying or you just made it up? If you just made it up, that's amazing. That's great. Yeah. Pain builds walls and healing builds doors. It's so true. You know, when you're in pain and you've been hurt, you build walls, right? But when you start to heal as a person, doors and opportunities come, right? It's all about opening those heart walls again and just giving life another chance. And then Rach says, hearing these stories give me so much hope. I love all of you. I love it here. And Goody says, yes, part of your life's work. And Alex, Alex has said, Alex said, my ex was in nursing school my last couple years in the Army. When I got out and started going to school, she started working and I absolutely felt like I wasn't providing enough as I started taking care of the kids most days as a full-time student. Even though I was still bringing in a steady income, I still felt like I wasn't doing enough. She'd be out the door before we were up. I'd get them ready, drop them off, go to school myself, pick up the kids, soccer, gymnastics, dinner. Then she would get off a 12-hour shift. Yes. And you know what, Alex, you were doing everything that you could do. Oh, and yes, that shit hit home hearing about your man, Abby. And I, I love it.
I—
do you see how it's the stories that connect us all? Like, here Alex is, and Alex is like, hey, same situation. And that's how the community is built, by all of us being vulnerable and sharing our stories. And Alex, you were doing more than enough. Um, taking care of kids and the home and running errands and like taking them to all the sports and activities, like it's a full-time job, you know what I mean? Like, um, you know, nowadays it's sometimes it feels like, you know, when you're doing all of that and you're not getting a paycheck or a big enough paycheck, it feels like, man, am I contributing? And to me, it's like the person that contributes in the home is like contributing equally as the person that's out there getting a paycheck because, you know, it's a, it's more than a full-time job, like the cooking, the cleaning, the errand running, making sure everyone has everything at all times in the house. Like that is a full-time job. Um, I've read that if you calculated that you would be making $200,000 a year as like a full-time parent, you know, and provide and at home.
That's $250,000 actually. $250,000.
So, you know, it's just you're just not— you're compensated with love and knowing you took care of your family. But it's more than money, right? Like taking care of your family is like the best thing that you can do, right? So yeah, it's not an easy job. I'm like, man, send me to work. But I mean, I work too.
So that's fire.
Thank you, guys.
Amazing. This is very special. And you know how, like I said in the very beginning of the Zoom call, you're going to want everyone on. It's because it's the stories. It's the stories. It's everyone's journey and gratitude, you know, practicing gratitude. That's something that is— it's just I feel like it's trending too, even. It's kind of crazy.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's kind of interesting. But yeah, practicing gratitude every day and being grateful for these moments and being able to to, you know, to reflect on these, these experiences, because this is just the beginning. You know, this is just the beginning of, of the journey. And this is not the end. But one of our guides and mentors and really someone that we truly like appreciate and look up to said this. They said this was like something that flipped me, like in terms of the quote. But there's a quote, right? It's not the journey. It's not the destination. It's the journey. But what our mentor told us is that it's not the journey or the destination, it's who you become. It's who you become, right? It's about you. It's about your story. And that was a huge takeaway for me. And so, you know, for everyone here, one thing is that I would ask of you is to, you know, like, reflect on today's call, reflect And it's just for everyone, right? Reflect on whatever your takeaways were from this call and whatever you are grateful for. Like, bring that energy throughout the entire day and pass it on to someone else. Okay? Like, don't share, don't hold it for yourself. Like, share this energy with someone who needs it the most. And it could be a loved one. It could be someone that you don't even know, but whoever needs it, they'll, they'll receive it, right? Whatever you reflect out there is what you're gonna attract back. And so be that light, be that light for someone else, because there are so many people in the world who are looking and seeking for light. They just haven't found it yet, and it's within them. They just need someone else to just help them out with that, right? So this was fire. Uh, this was amazing. You are all such an inspiration. I can't wait to see where Thrive takes me. I'm grateful to Alex for bringing me to this group. Amazing. Welcome, welcome, welcome to the family.
And Angie says, thank you so much everyone for sharing. I haven't stopped crying since this Zoom started. Sending you all blessings, loves. And yes, Angie, I mean, you have a very powerful story too. Um, I actually saw your post today with your daughter. She's so cute. Um, and I'm so happy for you guys. I'm so happy to be here with you guys. I'm— every day I wake I'm so grateful just to be a part of this community and to know that with you guys, we're always home. We always have a place to feel safe and feel loved and feel supported and just know that you guys have that too here with us. You know, there have been people that have come in and then they drop off for a year or 6 months or whatever, but they know that it's just so easy to come back. You know, like everyone here is always with open arms, like, hey, where you been? Like, what's been happening? Like, what happened? They're just like, you know, I was lifing. And just know that you guys always have a home. You always have a safe space here with us where you're unconditionally loved and supported. And we're here for the growth and the evolution within you because it's truly something priceless to be able to grow from one person to the next. And so I always say, like, you know, may you never reach your destination and may you always continue on your journey because that's what life is. You know, it's You're ever growing, ever evolving, and you're always changing as a person. And like, what would life be without struggles? Like, what would it be like? You know, you would be unhappy. Honestly, you would. Like, it's what, you know, you grow through and what you choose to decide to do with those things, right? You can be optimistic like Abby or you can be negative, you know, and that's not what we like here. We don't do that negative stuff.
You choose, right? You choose your heart. So just know that it's possible to change it around at any moment. It's just a decision away. Mindset, right?
Yeah.
Personal development.
And Tiffany says, evolution within. And Odette says, good morning. I'm always in and out of everything, but I'm so happy to be a part of this with you all. Such a great experience and so amazing to be around all the support and uplifting people. Congrats to everyone.
Congratulations.
Um, and with that, we're gonna close it out.
Yeah.
So 7 o'clock.
No.
Yeah.
Congratulations again. Uh, thank you all for sharing. I'm gonna edit this as fast as possible, post it up, and you know, again, share it with someone who needs it. Um, rewatch it for, for your man. Like, let him hear you shout him out, right? That, that's huge. Okay. The acknowledgement factor is huge. Um, but again, you know, this was, this was amazing. This is just one chapter. This is just one day. There's so many more days ahead, okay? There's possibility, right? There's possibility and potential to fulfill, and you are the one that's going to make it happen. It's up to you, okay, to make it happen. And you can, and you will, and it's done. It's already done, all right? It's already done. So on the next episode, we'll go over, uh, we'll go over the framework of automation. We'll go over the philosophy in terms of not trading your time for dollars anymore and being able to really figure out like, you know, how can you systemize your operations? How can you systemize the day-to-day things that you're doing every day? Like if you have to do it one time over and over again, then if you can automate it, ideally you do that, you know, but it's up to you, right? It's up to you. But that's, that's what we'll go over next episode. Angela says, hold on to that gratitude every day. Yeah, every single day. Make it a good habit.
Make it a habit. Congratulations.
Inspiring Hour of Fire. Yes.
It was so good. It was so good. I, I, I cried. I'm sure all of you guys cried too.
Let's get it. All right, have an amazing day. We love you. Sending you all love. Let's freaking get it. All right, crush it. Halfway through May. All right, it's just the beginning. Let's go. Let's go. All right, enjoy your day.
We love you guys. Congratulations.
Peace out.
