Marketing and Branding (#FIREHOUR S4, E27)

In this episode, the host delivers a high‑energy, mentorship‑driven masterclass on marketing and branding. He introduces the "Shoot to the Top" learning philosophy, urging entrepreneurs to model the best in any field and apply that mindset to social‑media marketing. He stresses that speed combined with quality is the decisive factor for content success, illustrating the concept with real‑time examples from his own business, Star Motor Works. The core operational model presented is the MOS framework (Marketing → Operations → Scale), which maps a simple traffic‑to‑landing‑page‑to‑backend‑sales funnel and shows how winning content campaigns fuel brand reinforcement, upsells, and lifetime value. He demonstrates how to treat social media posts like movie scenes, using props (books, microphones, cars) to differentiate content, and explains how to script or go off‑cuff depending on the context. The talk also covers the importance of aligning operations and networking with the marketing message, the role of mentorship, financial literacy, and personal development, and ties all of this to a broader purpose: philanthropy through the Love Tower project and supporting local nonprofits. Throughout, he encourages immediate action, continuous testing, and leveraging data insights to iterate quickly.

This month is long and that gives us opportunity to really, really dominate, take it, crush it, take our goals to the next level. I don't think Crystal posted in the, in the Thrive chat. So I just showed up with no game plan essentially. But I do, I do want to talk about a few things now that I'm here. And if you have any questions in regards to your business, uh, or marketing, anything, always put it in the chat. Okay. Today I'm going to dive a little deeper into branding and marketing. And then we talked about the, like, law number 4, the law of perception, right? Last episode. So I hope that you thought about it, you started to use it, and are using your marketing especially. Okay, this also extends to networking as well, but I'm going to dive into a little bit more philosophy of marketing and and creating movies, because that's what I'm actively doing in, uh, in Star Motorworks right now too. And so it's really like fresh off on my mind, and I'm going to kind of plant the seed, and then also like I'm going to share a few stories too about how this one framework and philosophy made multiple millions. Okay, so I want to share my screen too, uh, because I want to try something. I don't know if you guys use Freeform. It's like an Apple app. Have you guys seen it? Because I'm going to, I'm going to dive into the philosophy first and then I'm going to share my screen and you guys can use this in your workflows. Okay. So when I was working with my, my mentor, when we were creating social media at the time, it was 2015. Okay. So social media was still pretty new, especially when it came to making money online. And at that time, I'm going to, I'm going to share like a few strategies that we used that you can use today, okay? Like, after you get off this call, you'll be able to use it literally right after, okay? Or even, like, during. And if I had, like, more— if I was prepared properly and I had my entire workflow ready and I had multiple phones or, you know, streaming apps, I would be doing it for Fire Hour. But because I don't sell on Fire Hour, I just, um— I just share. Um, in truth, I should do it, but I'm going to share with you guys like what it is first. And I'm going to, I'm going to show you the visuals of the walkthrough so that way you can duplicate it. But 2015, uh, we were strategizing on how can we maximize 3 things basically, our reach, um, our, our brand recognition. So, so reach in terms of like the people that we can reach in the market. Okay. Um, The increase in following, right? At the time, like, following was still brand new as well. And then an increase, uh, an increase in revenue. Okay? So basically 3 metrics. There was a specific strategy that we used, and we used it, like, repeatedly, every single day. And every single time we did it, it made at least, it made at least $35,000. Okay? Every single time. And keep this in mind that it was in 2015. So livestreaming was still pretty new. And making money online was still pretty new, uh, for the masses, uh, for the, the general public at least. But the strategy that we did was we took the concepts of shooting from the top. Okay. So the framework, shoot to the top. Whenever you're learning something new or whenever you want to learn something, you want to attain a new skill. You want to just get to your goals, right? In anything that you do, chances are there's someone that's done it before. Okay. So let's say, for example, if you are— this is the example that I always like to give because it's pretty simple. But if you were to learn about basketball and you wanted to learn how to play basketball, who is the top in the world on basketball, right? In your opinion, whoever that is for you, then that's ideally who you learn from. Okay. In business, let's say for investing, one of the greatest investors of all time, Warren Buffett. If I wanted to learn about investing, I'm not going to go on YouTube and try to learn from someone on YouTube. Who I would learn from is someone who's documented, who has, you know, who's considered the one of the greats. And that's who I'd learn from. Okay. And also because the greats also have like their mentors, who do they reference that they learn from? Right. Benjamin Graham is the person that Warren Buffett references because of the intrinsic value and his book in value investing. Okay, so I would learn from that because I'm just shooting to the top. So everything that we do, the framework is, at least I would encourage you, is to always shoot to the top in everything that you're learning. Okay. And everything that you're striving to be and everything that you are striving to achieve. And when it came to marketing, okay, social media marketing, my mentor referenced Steven Spielberg. When we were creating our marketing campaigns, our content campaigns. Why? It's because, like, again, you know, what is the difference between social media and making, and making real movies, right? Movies. It's, it's content. It's the same thing. There's, so there's no difference really, you know. The, the only difference is, like, and it's just based on your imagination. It's based on your skill set. It's based on how dedicated you are to the craft. It's based on obviously your budget. It's based on your creativity though, right? And so the beauty of social media is that gives us access to create movies. But how can you create a movie if you don't have the philosophy of the greats? If you don't use the elements that they use as well, if you don't, um, actually like work on that skill and elevate that skill, right? To, to just do better. And so, and just to improve, right? But That's what we did in 2015. Okay. So we, we literally went to Palm Springs as a team trip. And, um, you know, we worked on our laptops. I literally worked on this laptop right here. Like, I don't use it anymore, but this is the laptop that I used in 2015. And I'm, uh, my daughter is using it, but when it came to, uh, creating it, we just Google Doc, right? A Google Sheet. And then I just literally put in Google at the time. Give me all the elements to a movie. And then I copied all that, put into a Google Sheet. And then what we did, and this is really like what the film department did, but they would literally pick like the elements that they would want to film. And then when my former mentor was, you know, actually doing his recordings, he would make sure that in his mind that he was hitting all those elements, right? Sometimes it was scripted, but for the most part, because of speed, You want speed, right? Speed is really the king of success. Speed plus quality. Okay, so when it came to him filming and getting content out there, like he was just authentic. He was just filming authentically, okay? Like selfie style video and boom. And because he's been like experienced for over 2 decades at least, you know, when it came to psychology, when it came to marketing, when it came to sales, et cetera, you know, it's very easy to unlock speed because of your skillset, because of the work you've done, right? So that's why like when it comes to like this business, when it comes to you being on Fire Hour, when it comes to you showing up for Zoom calls, et cetera, you know, it may be your first time, right? It may be your first time diving into entrepreneurship. I don't know what you've heard or what's in your mind when it comes to business and when it comes to like you going on your own and, you know, trying to create an income on the side of everything you're doing already. But the only thing that matters is that you showed up. Okay? You showed up, it's your day one, if that's you. And it's about learning. It's about becoming the student, having that open mind that's attached to nothing so that way you can soak in all the knowledge, soak in all the experience, soak in all the information, the data, take what you want and then apply it and then test it against the market. And see what sticks, okay? And the thing too is that like, this is obviously like, if you've been posting on social media for the first time, for example, or you're like really at that point, you're at the edge where you're like, you're going to actually, you know, take that leap and grow your wings on the way down, right? Guess what? This is part of the growth. Like you're literally forcing yourself out of your comfort zone to get uncomfortable to grow and to achieve goals and dreams. And that's the beauty of what we're all here to do is that the unknown, we're stepping into the fear of the unknown. We're stepping into, we're opening a door that we don't know what's on the other side yet. But because of you showing up and because of you becoming a student, like working on yourself, like getting surrounded with a group of people who are intentionally showing up to achieve success, to achieve goals and dreams, this should be right here. This is like a safe haven. Okay. This was for the day ones, right? The people who are, it's their first time here, right? Every time you show up on a fire hour, on a power hour, on a Zoom call, you go to an event, you, you get yourself in an environment where other people have a like mind. Okay. They're like-minded. They're, they're laser-like focused. They're working on success. Like they are working on themselves. The best project that I'll ever work on. Right. Guess what? Like, this right here is— it's create— there's something called an egregore. It's creating an egregore. It's creating a, a real, like, an entity, a thought form that is like a protection for you. Okay, that's what this is all about right here, the mastermind effect. So I know I talk, um, I know I mentioned a lot about the mastermind, but it's just, it's just because it's, it's just so true. It's so powerful. After you get off this call, After you get off this episode, right, this call, what are you going to do? How do you feel? Okay, take note, especially for day one. It's like, take note about how you feel after this call and use that energy and put it out there into the world. Okay, so when it came to— I'm going to revisit this book too. This one's really good. It's like 20-minute read. But when it comes to like the shooting to the top And creating your marketing campaigns and, and, you know, pushing content out there, right? Speed plus quality is everything. All the work that you're doing from day one, your day one until now, to the present moment right now on this call, it's all your experience, knowledge, beliefs, willpower, habits, and also like your intention and focus for your vision, all packed into one thing, which is action. Okay, so based on your actions, how do you achieve your results? Because the philosophy be, do, have and the law of cause and effect, if you do something, something will happen, right? That right there is about really stacking all the frameworks, the experience, the knowledge, and to unlock speed so that way you can get results faster. Okay, it's how do you get from point A to point B at the fastest rate possible? It's just a straight line, right? So when it comes to your goals, it's the same thing. It's just that sometimes like there's ups and downs and leaps and bounds, right? But that's just part of the process. That's part of the journey. So my goal today is to help you, just, just encourage you to take another look. Okay. Have a different perspective to see that. All right. If I've been doing this one way and it's been working, how do I double down on that? How do I make it even better? If I've been doing this one way and it hasn't been working, then what do I need to change? Okay, because if you continue to do the same thing over and over and expecting the same result, then that's insanity, right? From Einstein's quote, I believe. And so you want to change things, right? If it's been for like— I'm telling you right now, like what I've been learning from billionaires is because time is the same thing. Okay, 24 hours. We all have 24 hours in a day. The person who's making this amount of money, making this amount of impact, helping this amount of people's lives, they still have the same 24 hours as us. Okay, I really wrestle with this a lot because I'm always thinking like, how can I leverage my time? How can I increase the amount of results I can achieve within 24 hours without, without stressing out too much, without, you know, not, not like really taking advantage of the time we have now. Not missing out on opportunities that I may have foreseen simply because I'm just not intentional or present or my focus is not there, right? All the— I like wrestle with these things because I have a lot on my plate, right? Running 3 businesses and a nonprofit and then doing more stuff and I have to always meet payroll and I get, you know, all these different things, right? There's always fires every single day, every single hour there's a fire. And that's on top of kids, right? That's on top of family, which is the most important to me. That's on top of my health, right? I need to get like more my— how do we like keep the 4 pillars of the good life, right? Health, wealth, love, happiness, right? How do we do all these things at the same time and enjoy the process along the way? So, and then you have to build relationships too, right? So there's so many things that happen every single day. I just wanted to throw like a few examples out there. But the question is like, how do you, how do you do it all? Um, and continue to improve on yourself, continue to do the work, continue to move the needle forward and everything you have on your plate, right? Um, you have two jobs maybe, right? You have a hustle on the side, right? To make ends meet, et cetera. Like all these things I've done. Okay. So it's the same thing though. It's like, we still have the same problems. We still have the same stress levels, the same pressures. But how do we overcome it together and still enjoy everything and, and still move the needle forward? And because of the one action that you implement, okay, today specifically, I'm, I'm, because I'm gonna share everything today, like how does this move the needle forward for you? Like what the question to ask yourself is in every decision that you make is what is this affecting, right? What is the 20% that gets the 80% done? Right? Because that's what I've also realized in business from my experience and from working with a lot of data, like the 20% in all actions typically have been, to me at least, at least from my position, the most important. Everything still matters. All the little details still matter. All the nuances still matter. But the 20% that gets the 80% done, especially for if you're going to be making big moves and you really want to achieve like different, like levels of goals. Okay. And again, like if you're thinking and keeping accountable for yourself, like time, 24 hours in a day, how can you continue to improve the results that you have and amplify it and increase your bandwidth so that we can take on more or less? Right. It just depends on your lifestyle. And also if you want to, if you have goals to impact other people, right? If you have goals to impact a million people, if you have goals to change your family tree financially, if you have goals to just level up your skill set, whatever that case may be, okay, whatever your vision is for yourself, then that is what I want you to think about and keep at the forefront of your mind. Because if you can see it, you can believe. If you can— if you see it, then guess what? Like, seeing is believing, okay? That's just like what is true for a lot of people in this world. And so this is part of social media, okay? This is everything that I shared is part of social media. It's part of your marketing, part of your content. Jackie says, thrive, multiple coaches, meditation, self-care, boundaries, setting time for family, businesses, lots of AI and alarms and automation. Yes. All of that really helps. Like it really, really helps. Multiple coaches, like that right there is so true. Like the reason why people who have been in, the reason why mentors exist, right? And the reason why successful people talk about mentors a lot is simply because of that fact, is that without them getting foresight, without them getting guidance, without them receiving more knowledge and keeping that student mentality and taking action after, I don't know how far people would get. I don't know how far I would get if I didn't have coaches, right? I have coaches, I have multiple coaches. And so, and it's in different areas of life, right? And spirituality, in business and leadership, right? And team development. I'm learning from people from all walks of life, okay? But people that I respect, that I admire, and that I can learn from, right? There's— and you can learn from any— you can learn from everyone, okay? There's— you can always take things from, from people and, and reciprocate it. But you do want to pick and choose wisely because Why? Time, right? You only have 24 hours in a day. If you're going to do a coaching call, 1 hour, if you're going to show up for fire hour, like, what's the time? Like, what is this 1 hour worth to you? Okay? What is that? For me, whenever I— this is what Nico said, Turning Decades into Days by Tony Robbins. Yes. And guess what? It's so true. Okay? It's so true. You can literally do that. Uh, there's a good book, uh, the, the comp— there's a few like books for time specifically that I, I like to think about and philosophically. The Compound Effect is one of them. Uh, The 80/20 Principle is another one. The One Minute Man, uh, Manager. Okay. The One Minute Manager is another one. Uh, Managing Oneself is another one. Uh, and then there's one more book. Um, it's on time specifically. Basically the concept of that book, I forgot the title of it, but the concept of that book is instead of having 52 weeks in a year, you can, you can narrow it down into 30 days. So I forget the book. I need to look it up. I'll look it up when we, when I screen share. Okay. But that book has helped me stack like a lot, a lot of decades into days, essentially, you know, and here's the thing too, that like when, when I started to, going more into entrepreneurship, and I'll go back to social media after this, but when I started to go into entrepreneurship, I was an employee first, okay? And when I was an employee, my mindset was, my mindset was this. It was about me like just showing up to work, clocking in, and then getting paid for that hour and then clocking out. And regardless of the amount of effort I put in in that one hour, regardless of the amount of, you know, teamwork, dedication, focus, loyalty, all these different things to help the company move the needle forward, it didn't really matter. And the reason why is because my mindset at the time didn't understand that hard work and results, it doesn't— it's not like one-to-one. It doesn't mean that because I work hard, I'm going to get this amount of results. It's about the quality of work that you do. And then the impact that it makes to get the results, right? And there is a difference when it comes to the results that you can achieve. If I do one thing, like, which is marketing, for example, in a business, okay? And it unlocks local celebrity status. It unlocks elevating your authority bias, your authority in the market, in the customer's eye. It unlocks lifestyle. It unlocks like honesty and transparency. It unlocks there's a call to action, like all these different things. If it achieves brand recognition, uh, it reaches new people and it converts them and it also increases revenue, then that right there, that one action I did is tremendous for a business, right? That's, that's the power of what I'm going to talk about today in content. Okay. Uh, but I wanted to just give all the context because I want, like, I just want you to understand that when it comes to mindset, you have to really make that shift. Like when it comes to you being an entrepreneur, you being your own boss, like it's about the time and it's about the impact that you make with the decisions that you make within that time. Okay. And so one decision, you can take 20 minutes to think about one decision and that one decision can change the game for you in your business. It's like that. It's so, it's very simple when you understand it, but it's very difficult to execute because you have to, you have to bring like the, your thoughts. Yeah, you have to bring your thoughts into things, right? Your idea. Okay, um, Jackie says, yep, Paul taught me to compress time frames. Nice. Angela says, I was talking about this, Peter is a super active family and working man. He is always tired. Gym is his life and gives him energy and spirit. I told him he needed to wake up early because he got no time. Mind you, he's not a morning person. Today he was out of the house by 6:00 AM and It's about taking little steps to getting there. I wish more people understood pace and small wins create big results. Yes, very, very true. That's good on Peter that he's doing it. Jackie, he's trying to be better for you. You inspire him. That is the feminine power. I do agree with that. Like, I've experienced that in my life with Crystal. Angela says, time is what we value most, not money. Yes. Yeah. In the beginning, like, especially if you've never experienced or earned like a certain amount of income, like you may not know that just yet because we live in a world where like the Maslow's hierarchy of needs, right? Like we need to make sure that our security is set, like our finances are set, etc. But once you achieve like that amount of money, your mindset starts to shift, your perspective starts to shift into time. And even this, okay, think about this, okay? Um, in Alabama, when I was living in Alabama in 20, uh, 2013, 2013, and then also 2017. Okay, I lived in Alabama twice for multiple, multiple months, basically combining it to a year. Okay, and, um, every single Friday, now this was in 2017, every single Friday I would actually go to a lodge with my dad, and I was the youngest person in that lodge. And that lodge was full of people, like the youngest person there was probably like 60 years old. 60 years old. Okay. So that was the youngest person there. Every single Friday, I got to be around people who are 60 and up, and I got to listen to like what they would discuss. I got to listen to their ideas, you know, their jokes, their philosophies, like them reminiscing on, on their life. Et cetera. And I remember like a few things stood out to me, especially when it comes to time and money. Okay. Uh, one of them was we were talking this one day, we were talking about money and, uh, people were just, cuz we, we would always play the lottery there. Like you would put like, uh, however much money you would want. And then every single Friday there would be a lottery. And so, and whoever won, they would get like this big pile of cash. And, uh, I remember, um, we were talking about like what people would want to do with their money., right? Would they want to save it? Would they want to give it to their kids? Um, what do, what would they want to do with it? And one of, one, this one person, I forgot who, uh, his name, but he was like, before I die, I'm going to spend all my money. Like, I don't want to have anything in the bank. I just want to spend it all. Like, I work my, I work my entire life for all this. I want to spend it all. That's what he said. And to me, like, you know, cause for me, my, my mindset and just like one of, one of my intentions is like I'm working hard and building businesses so that way I can will it to my kids, right? I want to will like cash flowing things to my kids so that way, like, they're good and they can pursue whatever passions they want to pursue. All right. For me, my parents, like, they are immigrants from— they're actually from— so I'm Japanese-Filipino. They're from— my Japanese side is from Mexico, La Ciudad de México, D.F., right? And my Filipino side is obviously from the Philippines. But when it came to my parents being immigrants and coming to America for the American dream and really working hard, learning English, right? Because English is their second language for both of them. And being able to actually make it and have a career and then retire. The one thing that I noticed and what I observed and saw was that they always sacrificed everything. They sacrificed everything, literally, right? Everything, um, just to make it for us, right? To give us like the positioning that we have now and for us to— and to— for us to have a fighting chance at creating a better life, to continue like the life that they would wish that we would have, right? And so for me, like, I'm very big on that because, uh, especially coming from my background, um, and like with me being super ambitious and wanting to like really just continue to crush it and like make a difference in this world, how do I do that? You know what I mean? And so obviously like I know what I'm doing right now, but at the time when I was still like wrestling with this stuff, like I didn't know, you know, because I didn't, I didn't understand about having mentors in business. I didn't understand about like how to scale a business. I didn't understand about marketing. I didn't understand about like developing teams, hiring, firing, et cetera, right? Training, everything. I had no idea. But when I got introduced to mentorship, I got introduced to masterminds, I got introduced to entrepreneurship and business, then I started to realize that, all right, there's a light at the end of the tunnel, right? There is a way because other people have done it. I just didn't know that it was possible. But now that I'm doing it actively, you know, this right here is, it really matters to me because now it's like I'm spending my energy, my time, To me, like time is whatever. It's about energy though. It's about like having energy because you can have all the time in the world, but if you have no energy, what good is that time? Right? So for me, it's about energy now. Like there's levels to it, money, time, energy, et cetera. You can mix it, but it's just about your perspective. And so for me, like when I started to learn about like, you know, business and time management and self-management and money management, And people management and all the management like terms, right? Like that right there, it goes back, like the one thing that it points back to is you. Okay? The one thing that it points back to is yourself, is if you manage yourself and you're a leader, then you can, you can definitely manage other people. And if you have financial literacy, then you can manage like money for sure. And this is like one thing that's super important to understand, especially when you start to elevate your game, when you start to manage teams and you start to manage money. Right, is that this is a high-level framework in my opinion, because when you put it into practice, it's completely different than reality. But though the people who manage things, so it's like it's 3 hierarchies, okay? It's you at the top. You truly want to manage money because money manages people and people manages things. Okay, so it's 3 levels. If you can master, if you can raise your financial literacy and your mastery of wealth, and management of money, then it's going to be easier for you to play the game of business simply because business is numbers, right? And they do met like, obviously like you have to work with people, but it's about your education level and about how like skillful and attentive, intentional and alert you are to your self-knowledge of money, of the game, and also of yourself. Right? Because if you feel and think that you know how to manage money, yet you really don't, it's going to, it's going to lead because of the compound effect, it's going to lead to really bad things. Just letting you know that. Okay. From experience. All right. And so you really got to elevate your game with, with that when managing money. Now, obviously, in order to get to, to managing money, like you might have to manage people first and you also have to manage yourself for sure. 'Cause if you're solo, you're a solopreneur, you got to make it by yourself. But when you become an entrepreneur, you start to become an employer, you have people to manage, then you have to really like learn that as fast as humanly possible. And that's why Peter Drucker's book, "Managing Oneself," is so important. It's because if you don't know your blind spots for yourself and you've never read that book and you don't apply like the managing oneself, like the concepts in that book, then you're never going to, in my opinion, like it's just going to be— you're going to have a harder time overcoming these obstacles of your own self-limiting beliefs, okay? Of your own limiting beliefs that you don't even know about because you didn't do the activities, right? That's why everything I recommend, like, you can take it with a grain of salt. But like, if I reference a book, like, pick up that book and read it, okay? Do the work for yourself. And I'm only going to recommend books that I've read and that, you know, I vouch for. Right. So The Psychology of Money. I read that one too. Morgan Housel. Yeah, that one. That one's good. That one is good. Another one is The Millionaire Next Door. The Millionaire Next Door. Like, if you're a millionaire, you know that The Millionaire Next Door is real. Like, actually works. The Psychology of Money is a good book too. Yeah. It says timeless lessons on wealth, greed, and happiness. You know what, there's also— there's so many good books on money. Pick that one up. That one's good. There's another one called Millionaire Fastlane. That one's a good book. That one's more not on money, but more on like making money. Okay. And today's society with, with, with e-commerce and dropshipping and just, just internet money. Okay. Let me read a few comments. Jackie says, yep, you start acting like new money. Then once you experience it, you get smart. Yes, that's funny. I talked about this too, just wanted us to be accepted by society and do well. Yeah, and I think that everyone wants that, right? Everyone who's aspiring for whatever they aspire to be, like part of it is being accepted by society. Like in the beginning, like you, you know, you may feel like a black sheep essentially. Or in essence, but in truth, it's about like overcoming those insecurities within and then from there standing out, right? Being that black sheep and standing out, like doing, um, there's, there's a, that reminds me of a book, but I'm not going to mention that book because I don't think it connects really well with it. But, uh, it's actually, I'm going to share it. It's called, um, The Purple Cow, okay? Um, by Seth Godin, the person who invented email marketing. If you haven't read that book yet, it's, it's marketing. It's a marketing book. Read that book because it just— I don't know why it reminded me of that, but that book is— that's a must-read in my opinion. Let's see. Thank you for sharing that, Kimberly. It's basically about how people spend money. Yeah. Alexis, I need more books or audiobooks. I need to rewatch to create a list for myself to read. Yes. And start like, like with that. Okay. Remember speed. Okay. Speed is everything. Speed to action. Is everything, right? Because the faster you take the action, the right action at the right time with the right thing, we'll get this XYZ result, right? So when it comes to like picking up a book, like just start with the one that's nearest to you, like availability bias, what you have accessible to you now, right? So, um, I, yeah, there's, there's so many books to pick up, but like make sure to like actually get it and then read it and then, then move on, right? And put like, um, this is like also about like this for everyone, right? This is for myself, but like have a, like Tabitha says, right? Do you have a running book recommendation list somewhere? I do. I need to put it back up again. I changed websites, so it's not up anymore, but, um, I'll put it in the blog post and then, um, I can share it. Yeah. Yeah. I used to have them jotted down everywhere too. So yeah. Yeah. When it comes to like you picking up books. You're gonna, you're gonna consume it either like by reading, like by actually having a book and then like reading it, or you can do audiobook, or you can have someone read to you, okay? Which is basically audio, or you just read in silence, whatever, however you want to consume the book. Okay? My point is, is that however that is for you, because there's no right or wrong way, it's about how you consume the information, about how you learn, how you download the information. So however that is for you, first know that for yourself. Okay. For me, I know that I can read a book like a physical book because it's just I've trained myself to read like it's— there's a skill in reading. So this book, it's, it's just this was a 20-minute book for me because it's just— and the reason why it's faster too is because I read Think and Grow Rich. So this is like a summary of Think and Grow Rich and essentially like 17 principles from Think and Grow Rich. The number one thing, like if you hear this and you understand it and you know it, the number one thing that matters is whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve. Okay? Right there. Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve. This is the only thing. This is a secret. All right? So if you, if you know, then you know. All right? Um, but that right there, like a physical book, like I can read because I just, I enjoy it, right? In the beginning, and maybe if I, especially if there's no hook for me, then I might not want to pick it up, but I always have a purpose of why, for why I'm reading. Okay. For you, when you pick up a book, you don't have to have a purpose of picking up a book and reading, but I encourage you to do so because it's going to help refine and sharpen your eye to understand like what you're looking for. Um, I talked about this before on previous episodes where like you, you want to like be like a, a, um, you're digging for gold, okay? Like you're a gold miner. Like you're— the gold is knowledge and you're looking for knowledge, specific knowledge that's going to help you on your quest, your journey to achieving your goals and dreams, to achieving whatever that is for you, your vision, okay? So whenever— every single time I pick up a book, like I, I go through the book and I go to the, the chapters. I always read the chapters first because in my mind I'm like, all right, what am I looking for? For me, I was, when I picked up Think and Grow Rich, I'm looking for the secret in that book. I'm like, what is the secret of the book? And then I finally found it and I understand it now. And so for you, if you haven't found that yet and you don't know what it is, you gotta find it. Okay? You have to, you like seek and you shall find, right? Always have an intention for yourself with everything that you do. That's why there's that quote, like, do everything with intention and purpose or not at all. It's because why are you doing something? You're using your energy and your, your time, right? But your energy, you're using it when you could have used it for something else, right? So that's why it's important to understand yourself. But yeah, when it comes to books, like, however you can do that, whatever you have access to, like, pick it up and then do it. Okay, Angela says, y'all, the impact, the right time and right thing. One of my customers that have been thriving with me for years is flying to Dallas retreat. She's my future biz partner. Also my newest biz partner from Oregon is coming. Creating opportunities, connections, one step at a time. So much impact happens in real life. I'm so excited. The willingness, that is where you spend and invest your time, intention and purpose. Yes. Thank you for sharing that. Like, that is so true because this is in this business specifically, it's a people business. You are in the business of people, of relationship building, of authentic relationships building, making impacts in people's lives. That's really like the business that you're in., right? The, especially in direct sales, there's a quote. They say that, uh, your personal development. Oh man, I'm going to butcher. I haven't said this quote in so long. So, uh, do you guys know what I'm talking about? I'm pretty sure you've heard it. You are paid in direct proportion to the amount of personal development. No, that's a different quote. It's something about personal development in direct sales. Your compensation plan is really a personal development plan. Okay? And I forget the quote, but it's really well known in the industry. So if you know what I'm talking about, put it in the chat. But your compensation plan is disguised as a personal development plan. It's something like that. And the reason why they say that is because, I need to look it up too, but the reason why they say that is because in this business specifically, in this industry, it's all about people. It's not necessarily about the product, right? Even though the product is very special and it really does do, like, it achieves results. But the thing is, is that the reason why the community is so strong is because it's people. It's because of the culture, of the relationships that you build, of the, just the authentic, like, real raw relationships, the, it's real connection, okay, that you're building. So that's why, that's the most important thing. That's why when it comes to direct sales, network marketing, Every single person in direct sales, they do personal development or they start to attune themselves and start to work on themselves through personal development. It's because in this business, the only person that's going to affect other people is you. The reason why you're building big teams and you're scaling and you're achieving goals is because of yourself. It's because of your personal development. It's because of the work you've been doing on yourself that people see within you. And then they're like, you know what? I want to partner with you. I see that you can, I see you've been doing the work. I see, I believe that you can help me get to my goals, my dreams. And so I want to partner with you because of the, uh, the know, like, and trust as well, right? All these things mix in with that. Okay. And this translates into your marketing, which we'll talk about, uh, right now. But I, I know I, um, I shared a lot, but again, it like combine everything. Okay. Like you stack all this knowledge. Stack all the frameworks, stack all the concepts, stack everything. Um, like write down, if you don't have a notepad and pen and you're not driving anywhere and you're not doing anything else, you're not working, you're not clocked in, um, and you're at home and you don't have notepad and pen, like always have this because it's just one thing that you can just write down that changes everything. Okay. It's one thing. Uh, and so like one example, for example, uh, for example, I think it was Alexis., right? Have, um, you know, that one book, like the one action for you today, for sure, for sure. Because obviously I know that you're, you're posting in there, um, is what book are you going to take action on today, right? Whatever is available to you is the thing that you'll take action on, right? Ideally just to achieve speed. But, um, it just depends on what your, your real vision and goal is, right? Whatever you're really, uh, focused on is ideally what I would recommend. So Um, but yeah, like have an action item list for yourself. Okay, everyone. And so for me, uh, like today after this, I'm, I'm gonna, uh, I'm gonna go like in a few, in like 30 minutes, I'm gonna go out and I'm gonna go, uh, to Star Motor Works, right? And I'm gonna start to work. I'm gonna literally bring all this information and, and bring it to Star Motor Works because what I'm gonna talk about next is, is exactly what I'm gonna be doing. So anyways, I, I really hope that all this was valuable and I hope that you took away something from this. I'm going to dive, I'm going to switch and pivot now into going back to what I was talking about in the beginning, which is the marketing and the, the frameworks. Okay. So 2015, we, we grabbed everything, all the, the elements of a movie we put into a Google Sheet. Okay. Super fast, super simple. And then in each different content piece that we did, we would make sure that we get it. Okay. We highlight it. The reason for that and the reason why it's so relevant today for your marketing is because if you're trying to increase and improve your reach, your quality, the amount of views that you want to get, all these different things and actually like convert it into revenue and convert it into an audience and a community. Okay. Then it's important that you start to like think about these things and eventually when you get to it, then add it on. Just add one element at a time when it, when it relates. Okay. One of the elements inside of the Google Sheet is books. Okay. A book is an element. Why? It's a prop. Okay. Microphone. A microphone is a prop, right? We tested this. We tested it where it's like just your face only, nothing else. And like, you know what happens? And then eventually, because so many people are doing that over and over again, it kind of gets mundane and boring. So people are just like swipe, swipe, swipe, swipe, swipe, right? Scrolls to the next one, et cetera. So like props was something that differentiated people, right? And that was, that was just one example for social media. Now when you saw like the podcast trending, like people were like literally getting fake microphones and not even having a podcast, but then they were, they would record themselves talking to the microphone. They use it as a prop and they went with the trend of, oh, podcasting is starting to get big. It's on the, it's on the rise. So I should take advantage of this trend, even if they didn't have a podcast. Obviously, like the better, the wiser decision would be to like have a podcast, have that clip and then post it. But, you know, people are learning as they go, right? And that's the beauty of social media is that you can still learn and still do it and take action and get results. Like people are getting results from that. But, uh, this was just an example, right? A book is a prop. A car is a prop. Uh, people are props. Like everything inside a movie set. If you think about a movie, everything is a prop and there's always a purpose for every single position and word that's spoken. Everything. It's the same thing when it comes to your content. How many here script their content? I've tried scripting before. I'm not, I'm just not that great at following a script. I like to go off the cuff. So Angela says, not me. I'm there with you. Okay, I don't— Fire Hour is not scripted. I literally go off the cuff. I like present energy. Yes, that's literally what I operate from. It's just like reading the energy in the room and going with the flow. Like, that's just— I know, Angela, I know, I know that that is the best, at least for both of us. I know that that works the best for us. Um, there's gonna, there's gonna be times like when you do scripting sometimes, if you're doing a paid advertisement, for example, a commercial, like that's maybe when you do a script, right? I do recall when I was working with my mentor that, you know, there are certain things that we would script out. The script sometimes is like 2 hours long. Isn't that crazy? 2-hour-long script. Well, guess what? It's not that crazy. Why? If you look at movies, you have 2-hour movies. The entire movie is essentially scripted, right? So taking all this information, like shooting to the top, Like movie, if movies are scripted, then, and sometimes you gotta shoot like commercials for your social media. And if you don't flow that way, that's totally fine. You know, I'm just, I'm just presenting a perspective. I don't even do scripting myself. Okay. Like I, I know how to script and I know how to do copywriting. That's basically my script. But, um, for the most part, I just fall back onto like just doing it the way I like to do it, you know, like with present energy. So, um, but having a script, okay. Elements. You bring the elements in and then from there you script out what you want and then from there you present it. Like, it just depends on how you want to roll. In my opinion, scripting, unless you have a really robust system that you can follow and you can pump out content like quickly within script form, it's, it's going to decrease speed, right? It may elevate results, it may elevate quality, but it reduces speed. And what was I talking about before in the beginning?, right? Speed is king. Speed plus quality is, is everything for sure. Because when it comes to social media, like you really do want to, it's like what Grant Cardone says, you want to 10x the amount of volume that you're putting out there, the amount of content that you're putting out there. If you look at Gary Vee's page, it's like nonstop content, content, content. And I'm just like, what the heck? Like, but it's just because it's, it's just, it's true. Okay. It's, it's the formula. Angela says it makes you relatable because people can actually feel your energy even through a screen. Yes, that's very, very true. I have so many dots on my stories. I know how that feels. I post what I, I post what I like, not what people like. Yes. And she says you can unfollow if you don't like what she posts. That's right. Why? It's because it's, it's, you know, uh, Instagram is channels, right? If you think about TV, like you had a bunch of channels on it, it's the same thing. Okay? It's social media is the same thing. I look at it the same way. I look at social media as movies. Okay? So, and Angela says, this is super important. It helps her filter out people who are not aligned with her. All right? It actually helps her. And that's the thing. Like when you become your authentic self and you actually put yourself out there, like, yes, there's always going to be people who don't resonate with you and don't align with you. And that's totally fine. You know, but that's the beauty of having a team. It's because if they don't resonate with you, but then they resonate with someone on your team, boom, win-win, right? So a smaller community following is actually easier. Yes, it is. Like the bigger the crowd, the harder to control, right? So, and that's the, that's the mastery of marketing and of, you know, a lot of different things. It's freaking crazy when you study it, but like going, going, I'm going to share my screen right now because I want to lay out a few things., but when it comes to, uh, when it comes to like your marketing, right? Again, you, you really want to be intentional and, and really like pull in, like pull in several different elements and always elevate your game. Okay? Because it's only going to help you. So I'm going to share my screen. I'm going to, I'm going to share a few things. All right. Yeah. I'm going to, I'm going to show you guys a few, uh, models, like visual models. And these are business models that I use, okay? And I've used as well. All right, Angela, thank you for sharing. It's very, very true. Nico says yes. Okay, thank you. Perfect. Okay, this is a free app. Surprisingly, I love it. And the reason why I love it is because I use it, okay? I actually use it. So When it comes to, like, I do this on paper all the time, but I wanted to show you visually here and it's just going to be easier. I'm going to show you a few different models, marketing models. Okay. I use this for everything we do when it comes to marketing. And it's the first thing. Okay. This is your traffic. So traffic, think, can you guys see this? Is it too small? Think social media, paid ads. So social media is free, okay? Free marketing. So I'm just going to put free marketing. So I'm just going to put free ads. Free ads is free, is, um, organic social media, okay? I zoom in. Oh, okay. All right, let's see if I— I'll zoom in a little bit more there. So traffic is one. This— everything starts here, okay? That's one. And then like, I like this because you can do this. Okay. Then here is your landing page, which is like, let's just call it like your website, your Instagram. Okay. It could be your, your IG profile. Let's, let's make it more specific. Those are basically the two and your email list. Okay. And then the next thing is your backend funnel. Okay, backend meaning like they have now, they became client. So I'm just going to put like became client, customer, like there was money in the door. All right, you guys, you guys see that? So there's essentially two, and this is your frontend. Okay, so every single business whether it's a nonprofit, whether it's a for-profit, etc. It just follows the same thing. Okay. Think of this traffic in before social media, there was TV, right? On TV there was commercials. Okay. All the commercials was your traffic and those commercials would go to someone like a company's website, right? It would lead them to a company website or a call. Okay. We can even put this as your front end as a call. Okay. And, and then from there, obviously when you're on the call, there's one in between here. When you're on the call, the sales call, this right here was like you just trying to get the money in the door. Okay. And then once they became a paying client, obviously they're in the back end now. Okay. Now they're your customer. So this is essentially what happens in the very beginning. It was traffic, commercial, social media. Et cetera. And then from there, whatever that commercial was, you would go to a website, your essentially like your reels. Okay, I'm going to just break it down even further. Your reels is your traffic, it's your commercials. Okay, those are your free ads and those reels go to your IG profile if you did it right. And because I'm going to do a Zoom, I'm going to, I'm going to show you my, my, my data. Actually, let me just grab my phone real quick. So I can show you the insights. I'm going to show you guys an example real quick. So when it comes to your social media, okay, like you always want to look at your insights no matter what. I think this is super important if you're not doing it, right? Jackie says, I love this diagram Shen is doing. It changed my business. Nice. I'm happy to hear that. Okay, so I'm going to just show you guys an example. Okay, with Star Moto Works, because this is a really good example. This is a commercial. Can you guys see that? Yeah, let me just share my— so this is a commercial. Okay, this is if you're just scrolling on social media on Instagram, this is a commercial. Okay, so now if this commercial did really good, what would happen next is people who really liked it, they would click in. So they would go to the Instagram profile, right? So let me just share that screen again. They would go to the front end, which is the IG profile. So they click it. Now, if you look at, if you look at it, right, there is this, like they're on the profile. So now you can see, like obviously you can see like the entire thing. This is your landing page, okay? This is your website, essentially your social landing page. Now the next step is obviously for them to click the website. Okay? And if they click the website, then that's really good because it increases conversions, increases the chance for us to make a sale, right? And that's what happens. The next step is a sale, the sales call, get a quote in this, in this example. And then from there on that quote, they, they get to a sales call basically, and then they either decide to come in and then they become a client, right? That's essentially the same process. Now here's like what I want to show you that's super important to understand. Okay, uh, it's going to be on my phone right here. When you, when you see this, this commercial, you have to look at the insights. So you click in here, change your Instagram to the creator, okay? Not the business one, but the creator specifically. And there's a reason for that. Um, even if you have a business, change it to creator. So now, like, we're looking at the insights, right? So we have 557,000 views. 20,000 likes, 149 comments, 1,100 shares, and 1,400 saves. Okay? That's the insights right there for this. What I look at is all that for sure, but also this, the profile activity. The profile activity, 3,763 people. Profile activity means that 3,763 people followed our page after this one commercial. Okay? So that's the power of looking at your commercials, looking at your insights to see like what's actually working, your content. All right. And then from there, seeing if it converts, because from this amount of people that come, that went to our profile now, because they went to our profile, it increases their chance of clicking the website, which is the whole entire point. Okay. The whole entire point of, of you sharing, of you sharing social media content. Of you doing the Reels, the free ads, posting your stories, et cetera, is just to get them to go to your website, just to get them. And also like DMs, okay? The front end is like the sales calls is DMs as well, okay? This is DMs right here. That's like your sales as well, okay? And so this right here, this entire example, I did this when I first started in social media. I, you know, I used social media, I posted in my stories, And then from there I drove sales to the DMs and then in the DMs I closed. And that's how I, that's actually how I lived off my social media from 2018 to 2020 is I literally did this, just 3 steps. Post social media content based on my lifestyle, what I'm doing. They would go to my profile and follow me and then they would go into my DMs or they go straight from, from here into my DMs. Okay. And then I would convert the sale and then that's how I paid my, my bills. Okay, that's literally what I did. And I built a following like that. Okay, I built a brand like that. This one model I use this for everything I use because why? It just, it's, it's what works and it's what's, what's timeless. Okay, we'll go a few minutes over because I really want to like drive this home. But this right here, every single person is doing the same thing. Okay, whatever business that you have, let's just say Thrive, for example, you have your reels, your content. Um, you have your website in your bio and you also have your DMs open. Okay, when you post on social media, right, one of two things is going to happen if your content is good. They're either going to check your profile out, they're going to click on your website, they're going to join your email list if you have one, they're gonna— and if you want to book a call with them, you can book a call, but they're gonna essentially go eventually into your DMs or eventually onto a call with you. Right? A Zoom call, whatever. And then based on this interaction, based on whatever and whatever they're cut— they're in the customer journey, whatever stage they're at, now they become a client, they become a customer, they become a partner for you, etc. Okay, now they become in the backend. Now here's like the next step, the comp— like this is where I want to make it like a little bit more advanced. In the backend, now you have what is called backend sales, like upsells. Okay. And here's the thing. This is like where lifetime— this is where like you can extend lifetime value. Okay. LTV. And also you can remarket and also get referrals there. Everything happens in the backend, essentially. Okay. In my opinion. And this is really where you make all the money in the backend. The hardest part, this is what a lot of people struggle with, which is really not— it's not difficult. Okay. It just depends on your marketing, on your traffic. How you do your marketing. This is what we're talking about, the whole entire philosophy of, um, you know, of your marketing game. Okay. You got to elevate your marketing game no matter what. This is the most important thing, especially when it comes to doing like the 20% that gets the 80% done, right? Your marketing game, this right here is the only thing that matters. If you're trying to focus on, on your, on elevating your, your brand, increasing your revenue, it's about marketing. Because when you start to elevate your marketing, guess what happens? Now more people funnel to the front end, and then that increases your chances of getting on a sales call or people sliding into your DMs or booking, whatever it is. Okay? Whatever, however you convert them. And then from there, now once they become a paying client, boom. Now they are now entered into your ecosystem, your business on the back end. And that's where all the magic really happens because now upsells happen. You're able to extend the lifetime value of the, whoever that is. And you also get referrals because of the loyalty, right? And there's so much more. And this is also like where brand gets reinforced. Okay. Your brand starts to get reinforced here. Brand, I call it brand reinforcement. I've never talked about this, but that's what happens there. Okay. And so it's because of raving fans, your followers, your audience, they vouch for you. You have credibility because of them. Not the other way around. Okay. And so, but it's the chicken and the egg. Okay. And so, yeah, this is, this whole thing right here. There's so many more layers to this, but I'm going to keep it simple because I want to share another thing. Angela says you can check your website hits, go back, go to your back office, click reports, and then click website traffic. I agree. I agree with you. Maintaining and growing your retention revenue. Yes. Super important, right? Every business, if you don't have like monthly recurring or recurring revenue in some form or aspect, Like it's something to think about and add. Okay. That's something that I have in the pipeline with Star Motorworks actually. And so, uh, Angela says you need people and systems because you need a team that knows how to market and drive sales. Exactly. That's very, very true. So the next thing I was going to share is this right here. MOS. This is like my framework I use. I'm actually going to be doing a workshop. Uh, it's going to be paid though. This is for like the, the people who don't know me yet. It's going to be a marketing workshop. I'm going to teach them— it's for local businesses, could be for any entrepreneur, but I'm just making it specific about local businesses because I want to acquire more. Um, but MOS is marketing. This is my framework, okay? And scale is next, okay, with the goal of scale. So I put, uh, where's the star? There's no star. Let's put this Okay, this is what it is. Okay, like every— in my opinion, if I were to do a consulting call with any business owner, I always go in this flow. Like, let me— like, how's your marketing? Because without marketing, like, you don't have a business. Okay, because the reason why I say that, and I'm future pacing myself as well, but the reason why I say that is simply because with social media at scale, People have access to social media, they have access to elevating the marketing game, all these things. Like sooner than later, your business, if you're, if you're not in a specific niche or you don't, you know, your brand position is not as strong or you're not doing this stuff, then you'll be pushed out of the market. Okay. I believe that it sucks, but I believe it because that's part of the game. So marketing is number one, then operations is number two, and then scale is what happens because of these two things. Okay, but there's a lot of things in scaling. It's increasing revenue, decreasing costs, and expanding your overall market share and improving on your marketing operations at all times. With Star Motor Works, what I'm doing right now, I'm literally going to go in in 30 minutes or an hour. I'm adding— I added to the marketing, our media department. So I hired a full-time video editor, a full-time videographer. Okay, a film, a person who's going to be doing film and we're going to, and we're creating a movie. Okay. Not even kidding. We're creating a movie, a show called Star Motorworks. Okay. And the reason why I'm doing that is because I just, I've been wanting to do this for years now and now we're doing it. But when it came to marketing, what I wanted to establish first, which is something that I talked about before, is you want to establish your content campaigns, content campaigns that win. Okay? Because without winning content campaigns, and it's free, like it, it's free to make these, okay? You can't, like, you can't really scale your, your marketing because you're always going to continue to test without getting revenue in. Once you find a winning content campaign, every time you post, you basically are making money. Okay? That's what we have with Star Motorworks right now. Okay? Every single time we post, we're making money. That's the power of content campaigns that win. Okay, every single time you post for your social media or Instagram, your business, if you have a winning content campaign, you double down on that content campaign because that's what works. That's what makes money. That's what makes money. Now the next step is, the goal of marketing for me is to break operations. Every single time someone like brings me on board for the marketing to help them with marketing, my goal is number one, break their operations. Because of our marketing. So I help them find a winning content campaign. And then from there I scale that so that way it hurts their operations in a good way. Because when marketing is going crazy and you have increased amount of attention on your business, your operations should feel it. Okay? That's like, that's like the key sign. Your operations should feel the pain. Like you should feel that the fire from the marketing. Okay? The marketing efforts. Now what happens next? Is you have to— it's called optimizing your operations, okay? You have to optimize operations because you have to make changes now. You have to make change. You might have to hire someone to help streamline the operations. You have to hire someone that understands how to change the culture in your organization. You have to hire, etc. You have to just pivot and adapt, okay? And you can— you don't have to— you can apply different philosophies, but it takes time to do that if you don't know them. Right? You have to learn. And that's the power of bringing a consultant in. You have to bring in a specialist, an expert, okay? Unless you do it yourself. So the thing again, what I want everyone to understand is that speed plus quality is king. For me, if I go into a business day one, like within 8 hours, right? Essentially, like basically within 8 hours, just simplify things. I go in there, I can change their marketing in day one. Because I have the knowledge I can bring to the table. It's just that simple, right? When you bring an expert or a specialist into the field, guess what happens? Things change. They— at least things should be changing. Okay, if you have— if we bring someone on board, that's right. I go into a business, I can bring in everything I know. Day 1, things start to change. Okay, things start to happen, action starts to happen. Day 2, You know, I mean, not, not day 2, but essentially over time, stage 2, their operations after consistency with the marketing, their operations should feel it. And then things need to change. They have to start optimizing for operations so that way they can handle the marketing efforts. And then after that's how all these things are happening in motion, okay, at the same time now, now because your marketing is increasing, your revenue is increasing and the scale position in the scale stage, it's increasing. The challenge now would be like, all right, how do you decrease costs? How do you decrease cost because you're adding to marketing, you're adding to operations, how do you decrease the cost? Well, that's where brand, there's many layers to it. Obviously you want to decrease like the things that stand out on your P&L, but you also want to like be strategic and scale brand. Okay? Branding is everything. If you scale brand, you, in my opinion, from my experience, you automatically decrease costs in certain areas in your business just because of your brand. Okay? So you scale brand. That's what's happening with your marketing. So when it comes to Star Motor Works, we have a very strong brand on Instagram alone and through word of mouth, through our network, people know us. So branding is being taken care of. Because of our content. However, what I'm adding to it is what I want to share next, which is— it's Star Motor Works. Okay. We're— I'm showing you in real time because I want to document it as well. So when it comes to Star Motor Works, like the reason why I hired someone for media is because I want to create a show, I want to create a movie, you know what I mean? We only have 90 subscribers right now. And, uh, on the main channel, like, this doesn't count, but this right here is the very first video that we, we did, right? And this is just the trailer. We're gonna, we need to do a brand story next, and then we need to get the, the shows going. But that's what's happening, like, in real time. You guys are seeing the behind the scenes. Like, we're gonna be doing, uh, a show. And the reason why, it's because I just understand that brand is king. Brand is everything, okay? In today's world, like, because everyone understands that brand is the thing that they're trying to go after, they're trying to figure out how to build brand. They don't know how. They're learning as we go. Everyone here is learning as we go. The beauty of taking like frameworks from the top, right? From movies, being able to like take these insights and these experience, right? Is that you're able to like take that and then actually put it in like put it into your content right away. And it's just a matter of testing. It's a matter of posting it, of, of creating it, adding the elements you want, and then putting it out there onto social media and testing against the market to see if it works or not. Right. And just to give you guys an example, I did this already in real life. I was hesitant to do this, but I already knew as a marketer, I need to test. I'll share right now. Nico says, we still, we still see the freeform screen. Not sure if we're supposed to see a different screen. Thank you for that, Nico. Yeah. So this right here, we're like, we just decided to, to do this, you know? It took us like 3 days to get this up from start to finish. But now like this is in motion. I have a full-time media department. Well, it's, it's, it's one employee right now. But, you know, there is so, there's like 43 other people that are applying for the position right now that I need to go through. And my goal is to expand the media team as fast as humanly possible. The whole challenge is to do that is how do we increase our revenue as fast as possible so that way I can afford another, another hire for the media department specifically. Okay. So that's what I'm doing with Realtime. Okay. I'm talking about all this for a reason. So this right here, like the way that we're going to increase our revenue, this is a real life example. The way that we're going to increase our revenue is this right here, the marketing. Okay. Like I want to, I want to scale the marketing so that way that's taken care of. Completely, um, in real time, 24/7. It's done. And then from there, operations is going to be for sure the focus, because it's already, it's already been broken. We got to, we got to fix it. But that right there is about leadership. That's about like accountability. That's about, uh, really like adapting and pivoting and making changes, the right changes at the right time, fast, okay, with speed and action. And that's, that takes the, the entire team to do that, uh, but this right here, like the show is brand. Okay. The show is about brand. The show is about brand. And, and that's the whole point. Okay. So this whole entire thing, like the number one way we're going to do it is by, by this again, the traffic. Okay. Social media, crush it. And then from there, like put that money into the marketing, which is essentially free right now. My only expense with that is the employee, but that's it. And then from there we just keep on scaling. And then when we do the show, What's going to happen is like brand's going to be built, but we got to test again. And so the whole point I was sharing that you guys with that is this right here is that when we onboarded this person, the new employee, he has a very special camera that like shoots in raw. And so like the quality of content is completely different compared to what I was using already. So if you notice, like everything was shot with an iPhone, right? I shoot everything with iPhone because I keep it— speed is everything. With local businesses, all you need is an iPhone, right? I just shot this all with iPhones. Okay. And with iPhones, like the, like, look at the metrics, 5, like 500,000 views, 300,000 views, 1 million views. Like it goes on and on. Okay. The thing that I was testing for is like this right here is all high quality. Like it looks like a film camera, which it is. So my question was, is this going to convert into like money? Is this actually going to work? For our audience. And what I noticed is that I guess it's working because we have 10,000 views so far. And I posted another one, iPhone one that I did yesterday, and it got 10,000 views so far. So they're kind of like neck to neck right now. The one thing I was looking for is if our audience is going to complain about the audio, about the quality, the quality of the content. But so far so good. So today I'm going to like, if you go and look at Star Motor Works, like today at 11 a.m., I'm going to post another video It's going to be like this. I want to see if it performs so you guys can see this in real time. Again, it's important, like, you don't have to, but I'm just sharing with you, like, there's real things happening. If you— and the reason why I share that too is that you guys understand the context of what's in my mind so you can see it translated into action, into real time. Okay. My next thing I'm going to be looking at, I'm sharing my screen again, is I want to see if it's going to convert. Okay, because again, what is the next step? Are people going to the IG profile? Are people going to our website? Are they opting in for our email list? Are they calling the shop? Like, is it converting into sales? That's like the next thing I want to see. Okay, so this is a simple model that you can use for yourself. Again, like I'm showing you guys this as real life examples because shoot to the top. Okay, the philosophy that I have is I'm always looking at social media as movies. How many commercials or different commercials do I need to shoot before I find a winning content campaign? How many reels do I need to post before people start to like, and the type of post do I need to do before people start to hit the front end? Like the website, your IG profile, your email list, calling you, going into your DMs, et cetera. You know, talking about you, inviting you onto your podcast, like doing all these things, okay? Like what do you need to put out there and what do you need to, like how do you elevate your marketing game? So that way you can unlock all that stuff, right? All of this happens again, like in this, and that's, I'm obviously like simplifying everything, but as long as your, your product or service is like legit and it's dope and it actually adds value, then for sure, like the, the challenge will be this, the traffic. Okay. And then from there, obviously it's about scaling, right? Scaling your marketing so that way you break your operations. To scale your business. Okay, this is just, it's just so simple and easy, but it's about applying the knowledge. Okay, it's about applying this information to your efforts. And then from there, being able to actually see like what results are, are, are spit out basically, you know, are shown and the results that you get. So I hope this was helpful. There's still a few more things I want to talk about, but I got to go soon. So maybe like 2 more minutes. When it comes to, uh, the film stuff, okay, the like taking elements from a film, right? Like this, like if you look at movies, just— I want to just give you guys like a little bit more context. But when you look at movies, okay, you see the box rating hits, like you see how much money that like a movie has made, uh, you see like all the different elements, you see like on social media like people talking about it now, you see, you see just like a different culture shift and, and how like movies can like drive attention. My question to you is how can you replicate that for your social media, right? How do you do it for yourself? And I know that this is a lot to take in, right, for some of you. But when you actually go on your Instagram and you actually look at the content that you're posting out there, right? And it's working, like how do you double down on that so that way, and how do you identify like which one actually converted So that way you can do it again. Okay. Because when you, if you look at Gary Vee's Instagram, his social media, like he's like posting like 30 plus like pieces of content, like on one platform, you know, like to me, that's like that, that, that just shows me like the bar, you know what I mean? Like that just shows me like, how much can you actually do? I know that there is an argument when it comes to like the quality versus the amount that you're posting, but in truth, it doesn't matter. And here's why. It's because like when you start to post more content and you start to promote, like again, it's about building like everything. And you're also competing in a marketplace where it's like there's so many people like that are promoting the same thing essentially. For us, like with Star Motor Works, we're not like our competition is not that big. And I mean, our competition is huge. It's a dealer. Okay. We're competing against the dealer. But that doesn't mean that we can't, um, we like, that doesn't mean that there's not a big enough pie for us to like to share. Okay. So my point of posting more content is if your business is struggling, then that's why. Okay. It's because you're not— you're— there's not enough attention on your business. That's the reason why your business is struggling. So you got to put more content out there to drive more traffic in, and then that will increase the revenue, that will increase the chances of you making money. Okay. Of you impacting a person's life. And then obviously when it comes to you post, like posting more content, Like your operations is going to be affected if it's— if you're doing it by yourself. So you have to create a system. Everything on operations is systemized. You have to be able to replace yourself as fast as humanly possible. The way you do that is with process and systems and finding the right people to, to, to do those things. Okay. And then from there, scaling is like the next challenge. It's like really, again, like what we talked about earlier, like leveling up your financial literacy. And, and, and here's the thing too, if you know yourself and your strengths is not in finance, it's, you are most likely, you are better off trying to find a partner that is strong, is strong in finance. Okay? Because here's the thing, if your business is big enough and you, and if your business is even capable of bringing on partners, like it's better to bring on a partner that's going to help you 10x your results versus you do it by yourself. And why do I say that? It's because the amount of pain that it is from scaling a business to $1 million to $10 million is the same. Okay? It's the same amount of stress. It's the same amount of pain. It's the same amount of effort. In my opinion, it's actually easier to scale to the bigger numbers with a bigger team simply because it's like, that's just my skillset. Okay? It might be difficult for someone else,, but that my skill set is with people and with scaling, with the marketing. So I just understand like these things because I've just done it and it's just, it's just my bread and butter basically. So, but that's my point is, is that like whether you're, you're dreaming big or small, like if you can dream big, why not dream big anyways? Because if you're dreaming anyways, you might as well dream big. Okay. I just, that's just my point. All right. So. And then when it comes to marketing, like if you have, if you're doing marketing already, again, take the frameworks from the best, right? Whoever is the biggest content creators, like what elements are they using? How can you apply the elements that resonate with you, that align with you and putting into your marketing if it's going to help you? Okay. You don't, and how do you know if it's going to help? If you test, okay. If you put your marketing hat on, you become a mad scientist, you experiment. Against the market, you see what the market actually wants. Then from there you're able, you have, you have both worlds now. You have all the information, you have your knowledge, your experience, and then you have the market's feedback, which is super the most important. Okay. Angela says, not just content operations. Operations is networking. Do both. Too many people post and ghost. Spend and use your time with intention. Engagement is king. Yes, it's very true. Like you, you have to do all of it. Like for sure, if you're a solopreneur or you're a business owner and you have employees, like everything matters, everything matters no matter what. All of it, like that whole diagram I shared, it's all connected, right? Tra— like your marketing, your operations, the results that you get, it's all connected. So you have to have your eye on everything. If you don't have your eye on one thing, that goes unseen, it goes unnoticed. So that's when mistakes start to happen sometimes, right? More often than not, if you don't know what's happening, mistakes are happening. Okay. So you have to have your attention on it and to understand and know. And that's just from a, like, coming from my perspective as an employer and business owner, like, that happens all the time. Right. And as a consultant too, like, I go into other companies and I help them out with their marketing or their business. And then I'm like, yo, like, this is happening. Do you guys know? And they're like, no. Like, what are you talking about? And so their organizations, their departments are not talking to each other. That's the importance of communication and overcommunication. You have to have like your departments talking to each other so that way they know what's happening because one department always, always affects another, okay? Like more often than not, one department's decision affects another. Why does it do? It's because it's connected to everything, okay? So when it comes to marketing operations, those two departments for sure need to be talking. Why? It's because when marketing's happening, marketing is kind of like behind the scenes, but it's in front, right? It's in the, it's out there in the world. Who, who does the customer talk to? It's not the marketers, it's the operations, it's your customer support. It's you. If you're the entrepreneur that's doing customer support, it's, it's you. Okay. It's you or your team. So that's why it's important to understand that like networking is there. Like networking is key. Your operations, your front-end people, your customer support, they're networking on behalf of your company. They are the ones that, that are building the relationship and reputation of your brand. And that's why it's important that they know what's happening in marketing. They know like the vision that you want to portray out there, that you want to push out there with the law, right? Remember the law of perception, number 4. If you have someone who is in the front lines talking to your customers, your, your audience, your employee, your whoever, okay? Anyone who's engaging with your brand, whoever is talking to them from your brand, they are your brand representative, okay? They're your mascot for your brand. They're the ones that are actually unlocking like perception, Law Number 4, okay? The Law of Perception. They're doing that by, through their words that they're sharing. So that's why it's important that your people who are on the front lines, if you're in the front lines or your people on the front lines, They know the marketing message. They know what to say, who to say it to, how to say it, when to say it. Okay. That's like super key because it's like what Angela just said. Operations is networking, right? That is right there a 1%er. How many times, and we'll, we'll end the episode with this. How many times do you go to a company and you're dealing with like their customer support representative or their whoever is in charge, the concierge, and like you get a good impression or you get a bad impression. And then from there, because of whatever that experience was, you relate it directly to the brand. How many times does that happen? It happens every single day. Okay. For local business owners, like local business owners who are, it's their first time doing business, or may not, but they don't understand these concepts. Like it's so easy to go into a local business just to share with them like 3 steps, my marketing operations and scaling framework. And then from there I'm like, yo, like this is how you do marketing. This is how you do your operations. This is what operations need to know about marketing. This is what the marketing needs to know about operations. This is what you as a business owner needs to know about both. And then this is how we can achieve the XYZ result. You know, it's that simple. And for me, like my, just to put it out there for everyone, like my intent, like Crystal and I, our intention is to acquire more local businesses. I don't know about in California because there's like a lot of crazy laws happening and it's just getting like a lot more difficult and very expensive. But like I'm open depending on the business. Like I want to look at more, like I'm actively looking for a business to acquire. Like local businesses, I think that they're, they're very important to the economy. They employ a lot of people and they also help the ecosystem go. Like for Star Motor Works, for example, like we service Mercedes, right, owners. And we make sure that like part of the job is to make sure that the vehicle is safe to drive, right? Because if it's not safe to drive, then it's endangering the community. It's endangering society, right? So that's like one of the reasons why we do Star Motor Works, at least in terms of the shop. Obviously, like I'm going from a very high level, but that's like how I look at it. So I'm looking at like local businesses that make an impact, a positive impact in the ecosystem, in society, and also in community. And it's something that like I actually like want to bring into the portfolio. So if you guys know any local, if you know any business owners who are selling their business or who are looking for partners for their business, I'm open to taking a look. Just send into my DMs please at @shengunna. But I'm definitely looking to expand our portfolio and to like really like just dive more deep into that. And that's just one thing. Okay. That's, that's one for local businesses. The next thing is like our nonprofit, right? Like this Saturday I'm going to a fundraiser on a yacht and that's like, it's a fundraiser for children, for the Right Care Children's Center in Orange County. And the reason why we're doing that fundraiser, it's an annual fundraiser I'm attending, but it's to raise funds for these children who cannot speak. Like the children cannot speak. They literally cannot say words. And so from ages like, like the organization helps these children like actually like go through an entire curriculum of learning how to speak. And their whole goal is to help them get to like 3 words. The 3 words is, "I love you." Right? That is so powerful right there. If you have children and they can't speak, you know, like imagine how you would feel as a parent. So for me, like that's why like I really resonate with that organization. It's because like that organization is really like helping shape the future of our society, of our, of human, of, of, of people, you know what I mean? Uh, and these, these adults, they cannot, they can't afford like these programs for these children. So that's why like this organization is so special to me. It's because they literally like raise funds to put it into, uh, the, in to help these children out, to just help them speak. And then only that, like the university, the Chapman University is partnered with the, um, with this organization. So they actually have an entire curriculum to help them get from like point A, like developing these words to putting them into environments where they can actually put it into practice, their words into practice, and actually like also get a career. So it's an entire program from children all the way, all the way through their, their adulthood, right? That is one thing. And, uh, the beauty of this too is that for the Love Tower, for my nonprofit, for Love Rising, our fundraiser, we're raising funds for the Love Tower at a shop., right, to help construct this monument, this of love for the world. And we decided to actually dedicate 10% of, of fundraising to the organization as well. So we're doing two things, right? Um, this is, this is just one thing right here, you know, where like everything again, like as I start to like learn more about business and I, and I start to just like learn more about myself, you know, this is really a self-development like journey that I'm on. But like, I, I do love helping people. You know, and I love helping society. And for me, like, the way that I'm doing it is by creating a monument, a landmark that is going to be timeless, that is dedicated intentionally to love and unity for the world. And so that's what the Love Tower— that's what we're doing with the Love Tower. We want to create this community for all communities to come together in unity. We want this to be a place of compassion, of kindness, of love, of things that are going to be like the foundation of the future generations. And so, um, when it comes to marketing, like, I'm going to tie it back into marketing. Marketing, like, is intangible. It's not— it's only seen, like, on social media, or it's only heard through the— through word of mouth. But remember what I talked about before, like, this is— this is one of my marketing philosophies, okay? And it just so happens that I'm doing it with the Love Tower. But whatever you put out there is what you're going to track back in. So whatever you reflect into the world is what you're going to attract back into yourself. When you put, when you promote anything on social media, you're essentially putting out there what you want to attract back in, right? You're putting out there your marketing message to bring back in everything. When it comes to the Love Tower, we talk about love. People all around the world, you see it in the movies, you, you hear about the stories. If you watch Interstellar, you can feel the love in Interstellar, in that movie. Guess what? Like, it's not enough, right? It's not, it's not enough because people still don't understand like what it means. People don't understand like what love actually symbolizes because it's just, it takes many shapes and forms. So one of the reasons why I, in my opinion, the Love Tower is going to be super impactful is because you can actually tangibly see it, right? If we're thinking about the philosophy of what you reflect out there is what you attract back in, Just imagine having a monument of love out there that you can actually touch, actually, that you can actually like visit, you can actually experience. And that's why I think it's so, for me at least from a marketing standpoint, that's why I think it's so important and impactful. It's because by building a monument, a, a physical structure, a landmark that people can actually see, they can actually touch, they can actually visit. I think at least in one aspect, it's going to impact a lot of people simply because of what you attract, of what you reflect out there is what you attract back in. Okay. So that, that's like one of the, the, that's at least for me, what I really believe is going to happen in the future when we, when we make that happen. But, you know, fundraising again, like, like giving back to nonprofits and helping organizations like who are like doing these, these causes, these good causes in the world. Like I think it's so important, especially as entrepreneurs. Like if you're an entrepreneur, you're a business owner, like not only are you employing other people, you're giving back to the ecosystem, you're helping society move forward, but you're also like doing good in the world, right? And with that revenue, like extra, if you have extra revenue, like do good. Like with Star Moto Works, last year we actually like we spent over $1,000. We got $1,000 out of our budget, and we created a bunch of different, hoodies and clothing so we can actually donate to, a, a organization in Mexico for these orphans. And so they don't have clothes, so we gave them clothes, you know? And that's just like one thing that we did. There's so many other things that we can do. Like, there's so much, like, as I look at more philanthropic efforts and I just dive more deep into that world and I look at like, what can we do? Like, it's just so important. Like, it's, in my opinion, it's just so important. And I think it's part of our responsibility to give back to society, to give back to the next generation, especially our children, because they're going to be our future. I truly believe that. So it's about the decisions, the actions that we take now, today, that's going to help shape the future tomorrow, you know. Um, Nico says, talking about the energy with love, that amount that's going to be felt from touching the monument is going to be awesome. All the love pure pouring into the tower. Yes, that's, that's why we do the meditations every day. Every day we do meditations to to really pour love into the tower and also to the world, to everyone, you know. Um, Angela says, Angie, Alex, did you guys get a 24% promo code you can share? It's all coming together. So yeah, if you're— if, if you guys are attending Love Rising, your tickets are obviously a donation to charity, and 10% is going to be dedicated to the Right Care, uh, Children's Center, the, the organization. Okay, so there's gonna be doing, uh, both good. And when it comes to, you know, again, like if you guys have philanthropic efforts that you guys are aspiring, like start to share, because I think that's super, like, I think that's just awesome. You know, it's so important. And this is just one way to do it, right? Sharing your time, like giving your time is another way, right? If you don't have money, give time. If you don't have time, give money. If you don't have any of those two, like share with words, right? There's always so many ways that people can like share positive messages, but it's about doing the work. It's about actually taking the action, right? So, uh, let's, let's end it with that. But I hope this was helpful. Um, again, it was a lot of marketing for sure and operations, but these are the things that like I just, I think about, like I'm literally doing, I'm going to 30, 30 minutes from now, I'm going to be going to the shop and I'm going to be implementing some of the things that we talked about. I'm going to be refining things, seeing how we can optimize things, seeing how we can get our our brand out there, our story out there. You know, this is actively happening in real time. And if you have people in your network, you know, then like, let me know what's up because I'm super down to take a look at businesses. So, Angela, thank you, Sean. We appreciate you, your knowledge and time. Thank you. Thank you guys for showing up, for being here. Again, this won't be possible without you showing up, right? Without you doing the work, without you taking action, without you bringing on uh, your partners, uh, sharing the message, like doing all these things. Like without your action, uh, being here, by being here, like just showing up, like none of this is possible. So I thank you all for the kind messages. I really appreciate it and I feel it. I truly feel it. I really believe in all of you and, um, I just want the best for you. So that's why we do these things, okay? So I know you guys got this. Dominate your path. Make it happen. Have an amazing Wednesday. Crush your August. All right. August is a long month. Uh, and I just love all your guys' engagement, all your comments. Thank you so much for all the kind words. Thank you. I'll see you guys on the next episode. Okay. It's better with you. Thank you. Thank you all. I love you all. Thank you. Have an amazing day. We will see you on the next episode. Okay.
