NIH SBIR reviewers assess whether you have the lab space, equipment, and facilities to do the work. Your Facilities, Resources, and Equipment document needs to list every resource you'll use and describe exactly where experiments happen. Be specific and thorough.

So how do you get a good score on the environment review criteria in your SBIR application? Reviewers are going to be reading through your facilities, resources, and equipment document to determine whether or not you have pretty much all those resources in place to carry out the proposed effort. So for an example, reviewers may be looking into the scientific environment that you propose to do all the experiments in, like your lab or your incubator space, to make sure that all the work that you propose to do can be done successfully. So to make sure you get a really good score in the environment section, you want to take your time to draft out the facilities, resource uses and equipment document very thoroughly and to mention everything you need in order to carry out through your proposed efforts.
