In this brief exchange, Speaker A compliments Speaker B (Les Brown) on looking significantly younger than his actual age, noting that he appears to be in his late 50s rather than his late 70s. Speaker A attributes this youthful appearance to the happiness that Les consistently carries, suggesting a link between inner joy and external perception of age. Speaker B acknowledges the compliment graciously.
I think it's your happiness because you do not look 77. Do you get that a lot? You look like 59.
Oh, oh, thank you, darling.
But you do. I'm not just being nice. You look a lot younger, and I think it's probably that happiness that you always carry within you.
Oh, that's very kind of you. You know, I received the Cancer Center's Award of Perseverance. I I'm a 29-year, fourth-stage cancer conqueror. And they said, we have never seen anybody who come here to be treated with such a big, radiant smile. How could you do this? And you're dealing with fourth-stage cancer. And I said, I'm glad to be here. There are people— I walked in. There are people come in here in wheelchairs. I walked in. And I'm going to maximize my life until I leave here. Studies indicate, Margarita, that most people die at age 25 and don't get buried until they're 65. Because when you come from a minority, you don't get educated. You are indoctrinated with a curriculum that causes you to feel less than. And that's why we have to set ourselves on a path to uncovering and discovering the truth about ourselves. However, and listen closely, we will never exercise authority and dominion over our lives or our circumstances or our families or our happiness or our finances until we exercise authority over what we are not. Most of us are living a lie. That's what we're living, not the truth of who we are. Yes, living in the past, right? Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. So when we work with people to get them to live out of their imagination and teach them the methods and the techniques of how to go after the things that we want, of how to have a hunger to find a way in spite of the odds. All adversities like we're experiencing now give birth to opportunities. There's a quote I love very much that said, "In life, you will always be faced with a series of God-ordained opportunities brilliantly disguised as problems and challenges." Come on, somebody. That's what I'm talking about. ¡Hasta pronto!
