Susan here, out for a walk after a mentor coaching conversation. And the topic that we talked about was how do you maintain presence when you've got a client that's really facing a crisis? And a couple of insights that came from that. Number 1, always, always maintain connection. The connection is the most important thing to have in that process. And then, then secondly, once you've maintained the connection or created that connection, then to start to sort of lend courage to the client to face it, to look at it. To explore it without being judgmental. And then from there, as you start to explore it without being judgmental, then you can start to look at what are the competencies that the client possesses and can bring to this situation. And then slowly they're going to start feeling differently in their body, in their thinking, and from there they can make choices about what do they want to try differently, what do they want to explore or experiment with around this crisis that's going to allow them to move through that with a sense of confidence.
