So hi, I am Stacey Duhon, and I am one of the facilitators for the academies. I am ICF certified. I've been certified as a coach since 2008, and I'm certified at the PCC level. I also have my own coaching practice, and I coach for the University of Washington, the Foster School of Business. I coach their MBA program, their students who are going through their evening and their full-time programs. One of our philosophies from a coaching perspective is you want to have a coaching mindset. What does that even mean? It means being open. It means being transparent. It means being curious and flexible. Um, and so how I can encourage my clients to do that is having one myself. I had a cohort that I was leading and none of them actually intended to be a coach. They were coming because they just wanted to gain coaching skills that would help them go back and be leaders in their organization. By the end of the program, all of them wanted to be certified coaches. They absolutely saw the benefit for themselves, for their teams, and even their own family, such that they wanted to now invest in additional training so that they could become a certified coach. Yes, I get to support people in going after what's important to them in their own lives, and that is rewarding. When people are going after what they want, they're accomplishing things, they have more confidence, they're more fulfilled, and they're happy. They know that they contribute and they know that they matter.
