Unlocking the Lost Art of Resourcefulness The Secret to Thriving in Today's AI World!

Welcome to the Conscious CEO podcast, our new episode about the last art of resourcefulness and how this skill can help us to thrive in the ever changing AI world. The idea came up far away from the AI world. I was with my husband bringing up a light in the kitchen recently. The delivery of the light was missing one piece, a very significant one. It was the cable itself. So my intention was straight away to give this light back, exchange it and get a new one. My father in law took the light, went to the shop where we bought it, and the salesperson told him and even showed him that all of the lights are missing the cable. So he took the light back home and my first thought was, okay, what are we going to do with our light that requires the cable to be plugged in? So his answer, and we are talking here about another generation, is over 80 years old. His answer was, oh yeah, this is just a problem, we will fix that. This is, by the way, his approach to many, many things. Very inspiring. Then he gave us a cable and even showed me how to connect a cable that I can then plug in to the light itself. I not only learned something, but also got the idea that we can all be more resourceful. Because at least in my case and many, many friends and loved ones that I know nowadays we are very convenient. We get things, we get support from AI and any other technology that I highly appreciate and love. As you know here on this channel. However, when it comes to overcoming some challenges and problems, I think the skill of resourcefulness, especially, especially when you want to thrive in an AI world, is one of the key topics that we should look into. Resourcefulness is a word that dates back to early 17th century. It comes from two words, resource and fullness. How beautiful is that? It means the ability to find quality, quick and clever ways to overcome difficulties. And I think for some of us technology and or AI might be representing some difficulties. You can also say that resourcefulness means to make the most out of our resources that we have, adapting to new situations and finding creative solutions for our problems. And I think this is what the AI world and the future requires from us. So why is resourcefulness an important skill? Well, first of all, it allows us to navigate through life's challenges more efficiently. We have all faced situations where we don't have all the tools or resources that we need. Right? Or maybe we have tools and resources that we don't even know how to use. Being resourceful means still finding a way to succeed on your terms and in your unique way, even when the odds are standing against us or if there is something that might be not within our control. Plus, it fosters creativity, independence and resilience. Resilience is another topic that I will be talking about soon. Traits that are crucial in today's fast paced world, especially when you want to thrive in our AI world. So how can you grow, develop or strengthen your resourcefulness? Here are some tips to get you one. Embrace challenges. Get out of your comfort zone and take on tasks that force you to think creatively. This can be for example in your online business to look at some of your processes or maybe daily tasks that you're doing and see how you could optimize that with an AI tool or maybe even delegate it to AI practice problem solving, try solving puzzles or any other brain teasers to sharpen your analytical skills. Third, learn from others. Observe and learn from smart people around you. Observe and learn from resourceful people. Just like I did with my father in law that supported me to really think about the lost art of resourcefulness or watch any kind of tech talks or read a book that is supporting you on this journey. A great book that I can recommend is called the Power of Resourcefulness by Paul Brody. I will place it or show it somewhere here or in the comments below. And last but not least, experiment. Don't be afraid to fail. Trying new things and learning from your mistakes is an essential part of becoming resourceful. I will come back to the example of lights. We were also bringing up the lights here on the ceiling and some of them didn't work so we had to get them them down and try it over again. The same applies to any kind of processes or tools and AI solutions that we implement in our business. We try it out, we check it out and then see if it failed or if it worked and then create over again. I would highly encourage all of us to experiment more and do something out of our own style, sector or environment. And for example, for me it's like you know I am a digital transformation. Yeah, how can I say it? Expert. I love it all. Tech, business and spirituality as well. So I'm a yogini. This is all those topics that I combine. But being out of my comfort zone, for example is to go out there, learn how to plant potatoes and and be in a different environment to then be able to connect all the dots and become even more resourceful within our own environment.
