Hello, I'm Dais Tanseer. I'd like to a podcast for leaders who'd like make a difference. My goal is to inspire you to take the initiative, to change what no longer works, and to provide you with the next. Without delay, let's start with today's topic. As the time passes, it becomes more and more difficult to keep on motivating yourself and stay on course. In this episode, I'd like to share with you some ways I use to stay motivated and achieve my goals. Hello, entrepreneurs and business owners. Thank you for being here. I'm Takis Athanassiou and this is the 13th episode of Leadership Execution Podcast. As an entrepreneur or freelancer, you would already find out that motivating yourself to excel at your work or to be a role model for your employees or associates should not be something you do only when you feel like it. It should be an ongoing process that should include every facet of your business life and of your personal life, of course. This includes your mental attitude, your physical well-being and appearance, your work environment, your interaction with others— clients, employees alike— and your office job environment. Motivational experts get paid Big Bucks Hotel professionals, striving for success, that they must constantly examine these factors. How do you do that? There are many ways. Here are some approaches you might want to test. First, you need to understand your why. Before you begin anything at all, especially in business, you need to understand your why, or the reason why you do all these things and what you want to achieve. This usually suffices to make your rich goals motivate you enough in order to keep on doing the things you need to do. If your reason is just to make money or become famous, soon you will find out that are not enough reasons in order to keep you focused on what you have to do. You need to reflect on why you really want to do what you are doing and find more compelling reasons to sustain your passion and focus your efforts. Second, you need to remind yourself of your goals. It is obvious, but sometimes we forget our primary goals and priorities. We work, for instance, to achieve our life and business goal, not just the business one. In our daily tasks, we tend to forget that the work is not the goal but the medium to achieve your overall goals. Third, you need to break down your goals to manageable tasks. To stay motivated and focused, the only one thing you have to do is to break your goals to smaller manageable tasks And pursue consistently their achievement. 4. Maintain a positive attitude. Let's realize that life is only 10% of what happens to us and 90% how we react to it. You are responsible for your own actions and attitude, and change them when appropriate. When you are around people and things that are uplifting and positive, you feel that way. You have more confidence in yourself and know you can change whatever needs changing. You can make your workplace such a place, you will achieve a higher productivity status and you'll get better results overall. Fourth, track your progress. It is important to track your progress because only when you notice progress towards your goal, you will stay focused on what you need to achieve. Fifth, leave your personal problems at home. Everyone has problems, but they don't belong at work. Turn your attention and energy entirely to your own job task. This will actually be good for you because you will get a mental break from your woes and give you the necessary time and distance to cope more effectively with them. Create positive affirmations. The reason for writing goals for your business or life is the same as creating positive affirmations on paper. What your eyes see and ears hear, your mind will believe. Try it. After you've written them down, your affirmation goal, read them aloud to yourself. Do it every morning when you get into work. You'll be amazed at what happens. Come up with a set of new ones every month. Statements such as, I'm an important, valuable person, or, I know I'll make good use of my time today. Repeating them out loudly every day at a set time will help reinforce positive actions. Make sure break times are really break times. This is an area where most bosses or entrepreneurs fall down. Become so intense about the project or situation you're working on that you don't ease up, thinking that it will be solved in the next few seconds and then you'll get a cup of coffee can lead you right up to quitting time. Regularly adhere to a special break schedule, even if you are the head of a specific process or project. Release the tension. If you work on a computer, this is even a greater problem because before you realize it, you've been working in the same position for hours. The best answer to this is to set yourself a reminder on your appointment calendar for every 2 hours when you're at the computer, reminding to send you the alarm to move around. Next, have a plan. In order to get the results you want, you need to have a structured approach. Or a plan in place. This will focus your efforts on the results you want to achieve and will clear your path towards the achievement of your goals. And finally, exercise, exercise, exercise. I know that lately it seems that exercise is the cure-all to every physical ailment, but despite that, there is some truth to that ugly word. By exercise, I don't mean that you should go out and go in a gym and spend your lunchtime 3 days a week working out, even though it would be nice. What is really beneficial and workable is that at those timing alerts from your computer, get up and walk around your desk or room. Maybe go outside, get the mail, enjoy the sunlight if you are an entrepreneur that has a home office, or just get up and do a few stretches. Concentrate, tense thinking, typing, plotting plans, or whatever you work. Make all those muscles tighten up and not up. Then, when we move, we oh, and now it's because we have not let up a ball of tension. Periodic stretching, even at our desk, or just getting up and walking over to the window, getting a different view, can help. One of the greatest disservices modern business decor has done to us is making our office pristine, sleek, unincubated spaces. There's something more relaxing than getting up from your desk and walking over to a peaceful, serene seascape. Or pastoral painting and just drinking it in visually, momentarily transporting in my dad's work and into that place. A few good paintings and less cynic roaming offices would benefit us all. It only takes a little concentrated effort on our part to keep motivated and productive, which leads to success. Think about it. See you. Next week. Thank you very much for listening. Bye-bye for now.
