Hello, Jamie. Please introduce yourself.
Yeah, hi, I'm Jamie. I go here to beautiful Williams College. I'm a senior, so I'll be graduating in a few days, and I've studied math and computer science here. I'm from— I'm State, New York, and I'm also on the swim team here.
So what do you like about Williams College?
I think what I like most is when I was looking for colleges as a prospective high school student, I got to come and sit down in a few classes, and what really interested me was the learning, like the collaborative learning environment. You know, all students work together, like work on problem sets together. You know, it's, uh, I think some other universities tend to be a little bit more cutthroat, and here at Williams we still have the like strong rigorous classes and the strong academics, but most people work together towards that end, so that's what I really liked.
Oh, thank you. So what do you hate about Williams, if any?
What do I hate about Williams? The winters here are pretty tough. I mean, like, you're here on a beautiful May day, but during the winters it gets kind of gray and can be a little bit cold, so the winters stretch on a little bit long. But overall, it's a great place.
Okay, thank you. So what do you like about yourself?
What I like about myself?
Yep.
Uh, that's a tricky question.
Yeah, let's see.
I definitely love some of my passions, you know. I'm on the swim team here, had a pretty good season last year. Uh, also I love that I've been fly fishing for probably over a decade now, and we have some beautiful streams, uh, just close to campus. So I like how I'm able to do well in the classroom but also escape a little bit and pursue some other things too.
Cool, thank you. So Do you have any dream after graduation? And what's your dream?
Yeah, so I'll be—
it's maybe won't be my dream, but I am moving to Boston. I'll be working there and I'm living there with a few of my friends. And so definitely looking forward to spending a few years in the city. Like, in terms of like a 10-year plan, I'd love to move out west, out into like the American Rockies and work remotely and fly fish all day. That'd be a fun way to spend.
Okay, thank you very much. And do you have any message to Japanese and people?
Absolutely. If you're thinking about coming to Williams, you should absolutely apply. It's a great, great place here. And yeah, seeing a whole new country is of course very rewarding. So welcome your application.
Okay, thank you very much. Hello, Isabel. Please introduce yourself.
Hi, my name is Isabel. I'm a junior and I'm a physics and math major at Williams. At Williams.
Okay, thanks. And where are you from?
I'm from upstate New York, so I live about an hour and 15 from here.
Okay, great. So what do you like about Williams College?
Williams has a really great faculty. Um, I know especially the physics department, there are about 9 of them. It's very small and they're all very helpful and they really want you to succeed and they want you to do well. Um, and they're willing to help you with if you are willing to ask for help. And I found that to be quite valuable here, and for myself it's been very helpful and necessary. Cool.
And what do you hate about Williams, if you have any?
The only thing that I hate about Williams is also why I'm here, is sometimes the workload. It's a lot, it's a lot of work. And so sometimes when you're in the midst of it, it's like, oh my gosh, I can't believe that I have to do another one. But it's ultimately definitely a good thing. And I went here because it's a hard and challenging school. And so while I like to be challenged sometimes, sometimes it's okay. It's a good thing. So it's a lot of work, but it's a lot of good too. Cool.
And what do you like about yourself?
I'm very crafty. I don't— you don't see this. I have 2 craft projects on me right now. I'm very good at knitting and crocheting.
Oh, cool.
I like to knit and crochet during class. I really like the things that I can do with my hands and creating with my hands. Yeah.
And for other, like, personality?
Oh, personality-wise? Oh, that's a good question. This is less personality, but I like to community build, and I like a lot of the attributes that allow me to do that. I'm like president of Williams Catholic, and I'm lead ballroom club, and a lot of the reason why those are successful is because I like and I'm good at community building, and there's a lot of things that go into that.
And do you have any dream after graduation, or like maybe big dream for your life?
I have a big dream for my life. I would like to be happy. Oh, cool. I know that's like sort of a cheesy answer, but I would like to be happy on some level. And there, you know, I'd like to have a job that I enjoy and make a decent amount of money so I can
