Live Dial with Tanya Hughes

A live YouTube dialing session led by Tanya Hughes focused on maximizing calling time and setting appointments for mortgage-protection services. The chunk includes Tanya coaching listeners to dial frequently and efficiently, a live call with a prospect (Alex) where Tanya sets a 15–20 minute appointment window for Monday evening (between 6:30 and 7:30), and practical scheduling notes (her typical work hours and weekend availability). The session models real-world scripts, texting follow-ups, and time-management habits for agents.

You guys are already here, the ones who have showed up early. Bird gets the worm. So we're just going to start off by dialing. I've been setting appointments. I had 15 minutes appointments and I set two. Two appointments. So I had 15 minutes. I was just telling Thomas that every minute counts, right? So I take my leads everywhere. If that's when my kids were in school, I went to school, and I'd wait in the car rider line, and I would call. When I'm sitting at a light, I would call. When I'm sitting in traffic and there's nothing to do, I would call, okay? So you just make the most of your time. If you're sitting here waiting for someone, for something to pick something up, have your leads. It never fails. When I don't take my leads with me, that's when I'm sitting there waiting for 30 minutes to get my card in. And they said it would be immediate, right? So if I was going to get my car service, guess what I was doing? I'm dialing, right? So you want to, you want to. You want to really maximize your time, right? Because dialing is everything in this business. So we're going to start off by dialing. If you have lead, I want you to get your leads. You can listen to me dial for a little bit for like 10 minutes is what you're going to listen to me dial, and you're going to get your lead. You're going to dial. Because here's the thing, you can watch make dials all you want to, but until you do it, it doesn't matter, okay? And so we're here so that we can also listen to you dial and make and set appointments as well. If you're on the call and you have leads and you tell me that you want me to listen to you dial, that I can listen to you dial as well. Okay? We'll. We'll figure out that. But for people who are here, we're going to kind of break out while people are still coming because we don't want to waste our time. We want to be able to maximize the time because you're here. The ones who are here right now, we want to make the most of it. Okay? So let's get going. No, I'm not going to take a chair because my voice sounds better when I'm standing up. I've learned. So I'll actually sit down, stand up, sit down, stand up. Because I get bored just sitting down. So I'm going to stand up. I am going to Use my Bluetooth. Well, I can try not to, but everyone has to be very quiet. But once everyone starts dialing, I'm putting my Bluetooth on, So I'm going to triple dial.
Your call has been forwarded to an automated voice messaging system.
On the third one. I'm not going to let it die. I'm not even going to let it ring as long. I'm going to let it ring twice and hang up. And then I'm going to send a text message telling them who I am and what I'm trying to reach them. Thank you. And what I was just explaining to Thomas is I actually have a text message. I text myself. They're calling me back right now. Hello? Hi. Hi, is this Shelby?
This is her husband Alex.
Hi Alex, my name is Tanya Hughes. I'm actually calling in regards to the card you guys filled out for the mortgage protection on your known on your loan with Gardner Financial Service. Yes, I'm the senior underwriter for Bexar county assigned to get you guys this information. Due to Covid, we can actually now do everything over the phone. It's a brief phone call. I'm just trying to.
I got your text yesterday. I forgot to forward it to my wife.
No, it's okay. You're fine. No worries. There's no worries at all. You know what, I'm just. I'm married too, so don't worry. My husband doesn't forward half the stuff to me either, so no worries. But I'm. Yeah, I totally understand. I'm just trying to set the time when you and your wife are typically available. It does take about 15, 20 minutes. I do work when you don't work. Is morning or afternoon or evening typically better for you guys?
It depends. Are you available on the weekends too?
So I'm gonna be honest with you. I have a national training this weekend, so I'm actually training agents. Saturdays are tough, to be honest with you, because I work pretty long hours during the week. Monday through Thursday from like 10 until 9 at night. So they're pretty long. Yeah. So that my Last appointment is 9 o'clock at night. So do I make exceptions every once in a while? We try to, but to be honest, I don't typically work Saturdays.
Yeah. Yeah, that's cool. Monday would work Monday around 6:30.
Let me see. I do have. So if you could, if you could kind of plan between 6:30 and 7:30 just because I. I never know if I have like an 85 year old. Right. Who might have a hard time signing something with Technology. So that would work for you. And your name's Alex?
Yeah, yeah. Y.
Okay, perfect. And do you have a PIN so I can give you my number?
Yeah. Is it the one that you're calling from now?
It is.
My name is 713-701-9353.
It is. That's my direct number. If you could save my number in your phone. And can you do me a favor and pencil me in your calendar as well as send your wife a text message so she knows.
7:30 on Monday with time down, correct?
Yes. Between 6:30 and 7:30. If you'd like, I can send you a text message that you can just forward to her. Would that help? Help you?
Yeah, that would be perfect. Perfect.
All right, Alex, I'm going to send you a text message. I've got you down for between 6:30, 7:30 on Monday.
Awesome.
Awesome. Absolutely. You have a great and blessed weekend. Okay, take care. Bye. Bye. Questions? Yeah, he was nice.
Got lots of questions.
Oh, gosh, he's got lots of questions. Because my husband doesn't always tell me when people are coming to the house or he schedules something. And that's exactly what I just said. That was a good one. Hey, it worked. It's true. There's always something on that one phone call. There's always that something on that one dial session. There's always something on that you miss. Literally can be the difference of you, like hitting elite producer or making a sale.
