A warning that the world is already in a fourth-generation information war, fought through AI and competing messages rather than weapons. Most people don't grasp the scale of it. The real question: who controls these AI tools, and what are they actually doing with them?
Chapters
It feels like we are at risk of a proper global war. I don't think that necessarily is kinetic. Maybe we're even in it at the moment. Maybe we're at the beginning of it in some sort of proxy version of it. But it definitely feels like there's some sort of fourth-generation information warfare. And I do wonder about the use of artificial intelligence in that. And that feels like a really systemic risk. Who is wielding the weapons of AI? Do we really even know that? Because it feels very much in the background and it's difficult for everyday people to get their heads around. But what we do know is that there's all kinds of messaging flying around, which feels like we're just watching it. It feels like there are certain players having their own battle in the information and media space. So I think there's a systemic risk about AI, where it resides, who operates it, and how deleterious it can end up being if we get into a full-scale information war on a global scale.
