A short advisory video by 'Fractional CFO GPT' urging fractional CFOs to proactively acknowledge recession risks with clients. The speaker recommends openly discussing tightening finances even if clients don't ask, arguing silence signals disconnection. Key prescriptions: offer executive-level leadership, executive-level accountability, and executive-level decision-making; provide a systematic process and show thought leadership by initiating these conversations.

The first thing I think we have to do, we got to just acknowledge. We got to acknowledge that, yes, this is a reality, whether we're in a recession, whether the recession's coming, something's happening. And so we got to say out loud to our clients, even if they're not asking, we've got to proactively lean into the conversations about money tightening up. Because what's true is our clients are thinking about it. Even if they're not bringing it up to you, there's like a 100% chance that they're thinking about it. If you don't bring it up proactively, they're going to think you're ignoring it. There's three things that CFO should be bringing to their clients. Executive level leadership, executive level accountability, and executive level decision making. And so as someone that is in that executive level relationship with your clients, you've gotta be talking about these things. These are executive level things. So you've gotta lean into it or they're gonna think you're disconnected. It also shows thought leadership, the fact that you're bringing it up and the fact that you're bringing a process to them to kind of work through it in a systematic way, it shows them that you're a thought leader.
