Hands down, the number one thing. Before you start hiring, before you post your job, before you think what role you want to hire for, define your values. It will help you so many ways. When you bring somebody on your team, whether it's a 1099 W2 part time or full time, you've got to be clear on what's important to you and your company and your brand. And if you're not clear on that, you are very likely to bring somebody in that's probably out of alignment in some way, shape or form with those values.
