Tim Arrigo distinguishes between being interested in change and actually invested in it. He argues that information alone doesn't transform you, only action does, and challenges people to overcome the psychological barriers keeping them stuck rather than waiting for the perfect moment.

I talk to many amazing people every day, and lots of the people that I talk to are actually more interested in talking about doing the work than actually doing the work itself. People are more interested in having a conversation about the work they know they need to do rather than actually investing and committing to that process. And so they confuse the fact that they're talking about it and researching it with actually walking into the unknown, making the commitment, the investment, overcoming the uncertainty, taking the risk, having resilience, having courage, fortitude, heart. See, they live in the gray area in their life, in a place of ambiguity. Where they can still live with one foot in the past and dip their big toe in the future of change by pretending like they're doing the work because they are listening to speakers talk about it. They're reading books on it. See, if information was enough to change you, everybody could read a book and their life would change. But the reality is information only becomes transformation through what we call application. And so we have to begin to actually step into the river of change if we want to see things change in our life. When do things change, Tim? When you change. When you change. Because I'm just over here right now and I'm over here at this cemetery and I'm filming a piece for a documentary right now. So many people, they're, they're waiting. How many of you right now are gonna wait until it's too late? You're gonna wait and keep putting off the work you know you need to do. See, the fact that you don't invest in yourself and you put off that work is still a reflection of how traumatized you are, because people that don't invest in themselves, they don't love themselves. So I really want to encourage you, if you're hearing this message right now and you're the type of person that's more interested in having conversations about the change, researching, and you're interested in the catchphrases, right, the hot topic, but you're not actually interested in putting in the footwork, then I hope this convicts you in a good way, and I hope this motivates you to know that you can't hide out behind talking about it and expect that your life is going to change. You have to be willing to trust the process, step into the unknown, and overcome your own psychological barriers and your own subconscious belief systems and your own fear about what that work will look like. And you have to be all in and committed to doing it.
