If you're ever wondering why you keep getting treated the exact same way from somebody and why they don't change, you should look in the mirror. Because the standards that we accept from other people become the standards that we accept from ourselves. If we let other people disrespect us, treat us with contempt or indifference, then that's a reflection of what we believe that we deserve. See, when we tolerate less from others, we start to tolerate less from ourselves. So it starts really by holding ourselves to a higher standard, because we know that we're worth it. You're worth it. But if you keep accepting less, that's exactly what you're going to get— less effort, less respect, less growth. So we have to start by really raising the bar on our standard, our personal standard, setting the clear boundaries, not really with other people, starting by setting them with ourselves. What will I no longer tolerate? Because when we expect more, we're going to give more. We're going to give more to ourselves, to everybody around us. So in reality, we got to raise our standard and stop settling for less than what we deserve.
