A husband and wife discuss how insecurity creeps into relationships and what stops it. She says Tim's regular affirmations about her beauty and their early memories helped her move past distrust from past trauma. He tells men to voice positive feelings on purpose, since people naturally default to complaints.
So my wife and I on this drive were also talking about, you know, insecurity inside relationships and why people feel insecure. And my wife was saying, you know, she never feels insecure inside the relationship with me, and she wanted to share why. And I thought this was really valuable for anybody that's struggling with this.
So I think it's— well, no, I know it's because Tim always tells me how he feels about me, how crazy he is about me, talks about the nostalgia from our wedding to our honeymoon, just on the daily, like how attracted he is to me. He is just always just pouring into me emotionally like that. And I think, yeah, like in the beginning of our relationship, it literally took me like a year to believe that he was like really meant what he said, you know, because I think a lot of women like have a lot of trauma there where guys, you know, aren't really forthright. And, you know, there's a lot of guys that lie and just tell you things because they want to sleep with you, you know. Um, so it took me like a year to even like, oh, okay, this— like, he's like really serious. Like, um, but yeah, he continues like as the years Years pass by, he still like does it just the same as when we first got together, just constantly affirming me and building me up and telling me how beautiful I look, even when I like, what are you looking at? So yeah, I never, never feel insecure, and it's a great feeling, especially when you have such a handsome husband.
That's nice, honey. Thank you. But yeah, I would just encourage you guys, you know, like, just continue to pour into your wife. You know, like, if you— a lot of the times as guys, like, we're thinking something, right, positive, and we just don't say it, right? That it doesn't come out of our mouth, right? We have a tendency sometimes when we're thinking negative stuff to share that more than the positive stuff. So, you know, sometimes we got to go out of our way, right, to point out the positivity activity inside the relationship. Sometimes we just get accustomed to it, right? So take the time, point out the positives, right? Never overlook those things, guys. It keeps the fire inside the marriage going, and it keeps the intimacy and the romance at its peak.
